First and foremost, I don’t give a rat’s @$$ what others think of Patterson’s co-authored books – I like them. I’ve now read 26 and have liked them all (except one) and have rated them all 3-4stars (except one 2star). I didn’t discover Patterson until a few years ago when my hubby (a life long Patterson fan) turned me onto his Michael Bennett series.
I don’t care that Patterson doesn’t write his books anymore and that he just oversees and manages his co-authors writing and that is what I do like about Patterson – he works with really good co-authors. After discovering one of Patterson’s co-authors, I have often gone to check out and enjoy their other work. My fave is Candice Fox and Michael Ledwidge who are really good writers on their own.
That being said, I will probably do the same with Peter de Jonge because I liked the way he writes. This is the second Peter de Jonge book I’ve read now and I’ve liked both of them. Some might say that this story reads like a Lifetime movie and they would be right. However, here’s the thing about that, I actually like a good Lifetime movie every now and then.
After a streak of some really disappointing books, I’ve decided to stick with my fave authors whose books I have always enjoyed. That is why I choose to read books – because I enjoy it and I like spending my time reading good stories by good writers.
James Patterson is a superior writer. I’ve read so many of his books and they are all very good.
Easy reading, sort of predictable but interesting.
I started reading James Patterson as a teen, which was a very long time ago, but I came across this book in my local used bookstore snd grabbed it because I couldn’t remember ever having read it. To be honest, I wasn’t missing out on much. It’s and older book and it dates itself heavily with talk of the main characters aversion to new things like cell phones snd Geraldo’s tv show. Otherwise it’s an easy, okay read with some predictable if outlandish twists snd turns. I wish there’d been more of the story told from the POV of Peter because he was fascinating, but overall it’s a classic Patterson tale snd if that’s your kind of thing a walk down to the beach house might be just what you want.
This book’s story line was okay. This book had a good beginning. This book had a little bit of action. Some of this story surprised me. The Fixer was clever. I liked the ending. If this story had more action I probably would given this book 4 stars.
Patterson is my favorite author; always entertaining.
light easy read
Unpredictable Mystery to the very end!
I like most all James Patterson books.
I truly love anything by James Patterson. quick chapters, makes you want to stay up all night and finish it in a day. Surprise ending, loved the character development
Not a bad book, easy read..feel like Patterson just puts his name on the book s and the other author writes them..
top notch writing. Evenly paced and enough twists and turns in the plot to keep me interested from beginning to end.
Didn’t want to put book down. Couldn’t wait to get back to reading it. Very good Patterson book
Great read…..intense for a poolside, summer read.
The end was so incredible! Excellent book
loved it

As always, another story with great intriguing plots and characters.
