As an incoming freshman, Percy isn’t expecting his high school orientation to be any fun. But when a mysterious mortal acquaintance appears, followed by demon cheerleaders, things quickly move from bad to worse.
In this fourth installment of the blockbuster series, time is running out as war between the Olympians and the evil Titan lord Kronos draws near. Even the safe haven of Camp Half Blood … Half Blood grows more vulnerable by the minute as Kronos’s army prepares to invade its once impenetrable borders. Whew! It starts off with a punch and keeps going. What a fun, wild ride.
It seriously doesn’t matter what age you are. This series is great fun.
Another great book in the series, while I really enjoyed this book I also thought it was a bit slower than the rest.
Some things just seems be on repeat when it comes go Percy, in some ways he grows quite a bit and in others, not so much. Not sure if it is because it is aimed at a much younger audience or not. But overall I enjoyed it.
You can tell it is the second to last book im the series, as things starting to wrap up or getting to the climax of the overall plot.
Thinks get awkward between Annabeth and Percy but we all know why, well everyone but Percy lol.
We learn more about Grover and his search for Pan. I really liked Tyson this book and I really like his overall part and can’t wait to see what happens next with him.
I also enjoyed Nico’s part even if a bit sad but I think he had some major breakthroughs and growth since meeting him, I really hope we get a happy ending.
Rachel was also great and to be honest I often preferred her over Annabeth and I really didn’t see Annabeth’s problem with her other than being jealous, which in itself was a bit annoying.
I can’t wait to read the finally book and see where all this is going, especially with Luke, because we all know there will be some twist to it.
Overall great book and I rate it 4
My description of disappointment:when your uncapped pen doesn’t turn into a sword!!!!
I loved it so much! I wish the series were even longer!
I don’t ever want to be too old to read this series every year.
I just finished the fourth book in the original Percy Jackson series: Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan. I have to say that I am enjoying this middle grade fantasy series a lot more than I thought I would. A part of me thought I would be too old to enjoy a middle grade book, but this just goes to show that a well written book can be enjoyed at any age!
In the fourth installment of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the Titans–the villains of the series–are growing stronger, preparing to rise Kronos from Tartarus. When Annabeth and Percy discover an entrance to the Labyrinth straight into camp Half-Blood, they go on a quest through the maze to find a way to stop an incoming invasion.
I think this might be my favorite Percy Jackson book so far. Either that or it’s tied with The Titan’s Curse, I can’t decide.
I love the character development and their relationships with each other. There is definitely a hint (or more) of romantic tension between Annabeth and Percy and some jealousy involved as well. We get to see Grover shoulder more responsibility in his search for Pan and he grows up a little more. We also see Nico grow beyond his years as he shoulders the burden of grief and loneliness. Riordan throws these characters together–along with a lovable cyclops–and creates a unique dynamic. I love how they fight for each other and with each other.
There is also some epic battle scenes, even more intense then the other books. Again, the stakes are raised. As the characters and readers grow older, they learn more about death and sacrifice. In these moments, I forget I’m reading middle grade. The writing is so prolific and scenes vivid that it feels like it’s meant for YA, and yet it is still appropriate for a younger audience.
As with the other books, I enjoyed the humor written throughout, jokes that are perfectly aimed towards the young readers. Mostly, it’s light and funny involving many play on words but I quite enjoy it. I’ve always loved puns. However, there is danger of tiptoeing into ‘potty humor’ territory, quite literally, as a whole chapter was dedicated to Percy scooping horse poop. This chapter was not funny to me as it might be to an eleven-year-old and it took me out of the scene entirely. For that, I have to knock it down a star.
Therefore, Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth is a four-star book for me. I would definitely recommend it to those who haven’t yet read it!
I never know what I am going to expect for Percy Jackson’s adventures but one thing I can count on is that he will do right for he and his friends. The character of Percy is so relatable for many of the middle school/high school ages who goes through the same figuring their role in the world and the messages that are given to them daily by family, friends and outside influences. I also find the mixture of mythology with present day to be quite appealing as I never really held onto the mythology stories that I had read in the past.
Oh boy.
I don’t only like this book, But the SERIES.
The series are amazing..
It just keeps getting better!
The Labyrinth is such an excellent addition to the world of Percy Jackson.
Lots of questions and quests get answered. Loads of action and adventure. The stakes are raised. More amazing twists and turns.
Nico has amazing powers and grows a lots as a person.
More monsters!
I love Percy’s new pet.
Another must-read Percy Jackson book for fantasy and mythology fans.
you make greek characters and myths into a action packed thrilling and unpredictable story line my favorite book is Percy Jackson:The Lightning Theif
Great character development in this one, plus one of my favorite myths of all!
Every turn is a new challenge, it kept me reading on!
These are great if you love Greek mythology. This series is a great YA read for anyone. I love Percabeth together.
This book may be my least favorite book in the Percy Jackson series so far. I’m not going to say I didn’t like it, but there was so much happening during the quest in this book that it was really hard for me to keep up. Don’t get me wrong, I liked meeting all the new characters in this book and the role they play in the battle of good vs evil. I just felt that Percy didn’t grow much in this book. This book may be a lead up for the next book. I still liked it and enjoyed the adventure as it gets even more dangerous for the half-bloods. I look forward to reading the next book.
Honestly one of the best books i have ever seen! i recommend it to Everyone out there!
Percy and his friends must travel through the ever changing labyrinth of Daedalus to try to save their camp. The action and use of Greek myth was still fun, but it felt very formulaic after reading the first three in the series.
Another masterpiece by this author. What does he have up his sleeve next. Can hardly wait.
PERCANNABTH!
More pieces come to the puzzle. It’s very charming and I absolutely love all the characters. Thank u Uncle Rick!
