From a New York Times bestselling author and her daughter!England, 1677: Lady Lily Ashcroft is known for being kind to all creatures—even Rose, her flighty and frivolous older sister. But Lily’s sweet nature is put to the test when she unwittingly falls for the man her sister intends to marry. Betraying her own kin is out of the question, but she can’t seem to bury her growing feelings for Lord … growing feelings for Lord Randal Nesbitt…
What Lily doesn’t realize is that Rand, an Oxford linguist, has been harboring a secret admiration for her ever since she was a girl. But Rose is just as beautiful and shares his passion for languages. Now he finds himself caught in a tug of war between two sisters—the one he’s expected to wed and the one who holds his heart…

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
LAUREN ROYAL decided to become a writer at the age of eight, after winning a “Why My Mother is the Greatest” essay contest. Now she’s a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of humorous historical romance. Lauren lives in Southern California with her family and their constantly shedding cat. She still thinks her mother is the greatest.
DEVON ROYAL is the daughter of romance novelist Lauren Royal. After attending film school, she wrote an award-winning TV comedy pilot and spent several years working in digital video production before turning her focus to fiction writing. Devon lives in Southern California with her husband. She also thinks her mother is the greatest.
more
These characters fell in love in a more realistic way, over a period of years before coming together and remained loving/in love through out the story. Rand is never mean to her in any way and Lily is a strong character with a loving heart toward animals. Her sister Rose is a pill but then you witness her maturation too. I thought the Marquess changed his mind too quickly after how stubborn he had been, but still enjoyed the ending.
Enjoyed the story
These authors never disappoint , another great book!
Very nice read with interesting unexpected twists and turns
I read this book many years ago in the paper form. Of course I had forgotten many of the scenes. It was a pleasure to read it in the updated eBook.
I have enjoyed all of Lauren and Devon Royal’s Sweet and Clean stories. They are hard to put down and they are usually a nice days’ worth reading. Can’t wait to start another one.
Enjoyed learning more of the historical aspect
I enjoyed , couldn’t wait to finish it. Couldn’t put it down!
Loved the obstacles and how characters were able to over come them
Nice, entertaining romance with no need of using descriptive sex to make the story good.

Clean, moral
Loved this book! A lot of twists and turns. Couldn’t put it down. Had to see what happened.
I enjoyed this book a lot. The characters were interesting and relatable. In the end, it proves that true love does prevail in spite of all obstacles.
I had to stay up late to finished it because I could not stand not knowing what happened. great book.
I like Lily Ashcroft. She is so soft and kind-hearted even to animals. I admire her love and loyalty to her sister and was willing to sacrifice her feeling , and only recognize her feeling towards the man she love when she knew that her sister does not truly love the man but was only after his title. I also like her firmness of decision, wit, humility and modesty.
