As the head of security for Married in Malibu, Travis Houston is absolutely certain that no one will ever get into one of their celebrity beachfront weddings without an invitation, especially the paparazzi. I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
Loved the book!
Amy run away to escape heartache.
Travis believed that he was not good enough for Amy.
Will these two be brave enough to give love a chance ?
I loved the storytelling + the characters.
The heart wants what the heart wants.
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I LOVE second chance love stories! Put that together with the author, Lucy Kevin/Bella Andre, and I know it is going to be a winner. I know that I will have a wonderful time escaping reality.
The Barefoot Wedding is the 3rd book in the Married In Malibu series. It is a standalone book, and can most definitely be read by itself. However, it was really great catching up on some of the characters from the past books. When I started reading this book, I literally could not put it down. I did an all nighter reading it. I love an emotional book, and this one brought them all out.
Let me start my review saying this, I wanted to smack Travis…repeatedly!!! How could this wonderful man be this stupid?!?! Amy LOVED you, you stupid jerk!!! Ok, I need to calm down. (Deep, calming breath) Ok, let me start over. This is a wonderful story of two people that fell in love. That is until Travis, the stupid jerk, did something “noble” and broke things off because he felt he was not good enough for Amy. Three years later they meet again. Both realizing that the feelings are still there, but Amy is afraid to trust Travis again. Travis and Amy are thrown together during wedding plans, and Amy starts to trust Travis again. When Travis…… Stop, no spoilers. I don’t want to give any thing away. Let me just say this. If you love a story that is highly emotional, from the main characters, as well as the secondary characters, YOU WILL LOVE this wonderful book.
Thank you, Ms. Kevin/Andre for the wonderful hour of reading enjoyment you give to your readers. You are most definitely one of my jump out of reality saviors.
Thank you for reading my review.
Edit: My sincerest apologies Ms. Kevin. Life/time got away from me and I forgot to post this last month on release day.
“The Barefoot Wedding” had me from the first page it is such a heartwarming second chance at romance love story. Travis and Amy have history together but three years ago after a devasting breakup Amy moved away trying to move on. Married in Malibu is a Wedding resort and is where Amy’s best friend is having her wedding, she has asked Amy to travel there early to make sure everything is in order for the big day. When Amy arrives at the resort she comes face to face with her one and only true love – Travis – whom just so happens to work security at the resort. The two are still very much attracted to each other but can each of them leave the past in the past and get their happily ever after. You will have to read the book to find out.
I received this ARC for an honest review. This was a short and sweet story about Travis & Amy. This story is tells the truth…everyone is worthy of love. This is a second chance at love for Travis & Amy. Travis broke her heart because he didn’t feel worthy. Amy’s best friend is getting married were Travis works…that is how they met again. I won’t tell you more. You need to read it!
The story of Travis and Amy is a beautifully sweet story about second chances and taking risks! Three years ago Travis broke Amy’s heart by pushing her away because he didn’t feel good enough. Now that Amy understands his reasons for hurting her, she is determined to prove to him how wrong he was. The self doubt that Travis experiences is something many people can relate to. Fortunately, Amy believes in him enough for the both of them. Another home rub story! Thank you for sharing Amy and Travis with
Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first time reading Lucy Kevin books so I backtracked and read the first 2 books in this series.
Travis and Amy had a history which did not end well, with Amy moving to Michigan. They meet again when Amy’s best friend’s wedding is to be held at Married in Malibu where Travis works, and Amy arrives early to check on things. They both realize quickly that the feelings they had before did not go away. However, their pasts and insecurities are getting in the way of the two finally finding their happy ever after. Thankfully, they were strong enough to overcome these hindrances, and not to mention, they have friends who want them to be together, and in the end they found their forever.
This story was simple and sweet and had very appealing characters. Amy and Travis are just like us — we all have our own pasts and insecurities — so it was very easy to relate to them. It is well written, as what you can expect from Bella Andre (writing here as Lucy Kevin), and it’s one of those books where you swoon a bit and sigh in happiness when you reach the end of the story. I must say I still prefer the Bella Andre titles but this one held up pretty well. I look forward to the next book in the series, but in the meantime, will gobble up the other Lucy Kevin books!
This is a sweet tale of second chance love…
Travis and Amy had a brief history, three years ago, and now they have been brought back together for a wedding. While the story was seemingly short, it have everything I’ve come to expert from a Lucy Kevin story. I very much enjoyed this story.
ARC for honest review with no compensation 4.5 stars
The Barefoot Wedding is book 3 in the Married in Malibu series and another sweet romance!
Travis and Amy were a couple until he decided he wasn’t good enough for her and broke her heart. She left and moved across the country to mend her broken heart. Now Amy is back in town for her cousin’s wedding and who does she run into but her lost love, Travis. She is determined to not fall for him again but the heart wants what the heart wants…
Will these two find that sometimes meeting up again can be your second chance at a forever love or does Travis still believe he will never be good enough for Amy and break her heart completely?
We’ve read stories about best friends doing things to help their best friend, but this third book in the Married in Malibu series definitely takes a great twist. Our Hero, Travis, does something “heroic” in the first try at a relationship with his heroine, Amy. They both end up with broken hearts that can’t seem to mend without the other. A “chance” encounter brings them back together…will things change so they can achieve their HEA the second time around?
This is my first read from Bella Andre’s pen name Lucy Kevin. It was a sweet, simple, second (or third) chance of love story with a HEA. 4 out of 5 stars for this title.
Travis and Amy fell hard for each other 3 years ago, but Travis felt he wasn’t man enough to make Amy happy so he let her go to find someone to fulfill her dreams, and Amy ran far away.
Amy loved Travis then and she loves him now. When her friend decides to get married at Married in Malibu she send Amy in a week early for prep work. Amy knows Travis works security at the event location and wonders how he’s been all these years. Will they have the same powerful connection as they once did?
Travis can’t believe Amy is standing at the door when he greets the arriving guest. She is still as beautiful as ever and he is thrown right back into those old feelings. He knows he still isn’t good enough for her, but can she make him see that they are perfect for each other?
The Barefoot Wedding is book #3 in the Married in Malibu series, I have no read the other two and I was perfectly fine. Did not feel lost as it read as a standalone very well. It is a sweet love story, about 2 people who fell in love then drifted apart, only to be drawn back together again. Once again, Lucy Kevin (aka Bella Andre) weaves a wonderful character driven story that makes you feel as though you are side by side with them as they navigate the storyline. I received an advance copy without any expectation for review. Any and all opinions expressed are my own.
Sweetly emotional, action packed and engaging second chance romance filled with drama, laughs, great friends and undeniable passion…. really enjoyed this page-turning read.
Travis Houston and Amy Woodford have been brought back together by fate and her best friends wedding put together by the crew at Married in Malibu where Travis is head of security….. The witty banter, obvious chemistry, love and laughter are just a few of the things that make this romantic journey highly entertaining.
“The Barefoot Wedding” (Married in Malibu Book 3) by Lucy Kevin is a fantastic read. I enjoyed Travis and Amy’s story. This is a wonderful addition to this series. I can’t wait to see what happens next with this entertaining group. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, second chances, entertaining characters, and series.
Best quote: “When it turns out the truth is that loving someone, truly loving them with everything inside you, means getting over your own fears so that you can give them every piece of your heart. Even when it’s hard, even when it’s scary. Especially then.”
My opinion:
It isn’t the typical second change love story you are used to. It’s more a story about the willing to love and overcome your own barriers. Love isn’t judgmental, you are only doing to yourself. Will I ever be enough? The Barefoot Wedding gives the answer, yes you are enough, just the way you are!
I loved to read about the friendship between Amy and Maya. What a special thing she did for her friend! And I am in love with the Malibu wedding venue and the Married in Malibu series. What a beautiful and heartwarming place is that! Luckily for us there will be much more weddings to come.
4 stars The Barefoot Wedding by Lucy Kelvin (Bella Andre) finds place at the beautiful Malibu Wedding venue. You can’t imagine a more perfect place for weddings, and for love. The story of Travis and Amy is exactly about that and I loved it!
A sweet little romance filled novella.
If we could understand a person’s motivation for their actions we would understand people better. Communication, being willing to be honest and open, is the only way to build a foundation for understanding. It takes being apart for three years and then a week of being in each other’s company for Travis and Amy to communicate and understand what happened to their past relationship. Travis is the head of security at Married in Malibu. Amy’s best friend is getting married there in a week. When Amy shows up to check on the details for the weeding, she makes a vow to herself to avoid Travis. That lasts a few heartbeats. When Travis and Amy finally get around to sharing their the hurt feelings and actions from the past, they can move forward, or not. Thank you for another sweet story set in an amazing place filled with brilliant people.
While short in length, The Barefoot Wedding was definitely not sure in sweetness or romance. It’s hard to write a satisfying love story in less than 200 pages but Lucy Kevin (Bella Andre) never skimps on character development, backstory and most importantly, the love connection. I very much enjoyed Amy and Travis’ reunion!
4 STARS FOR THE BAREFOOT WEDDING!! Another great sweet quick read, in the Married in Malibu series. Travis and Amy get a second chance at romance and like all books by this author they are page flippers. If you are looking for a great book that is quick to read, here you go.
I love this short and sweet second chance romance by Bella Andre/Lucy Kevin. Travis and Amy were “together” 3 years earier but when Amy, an artist, professed her love to Travis, who works in security, he broke things off. Travis felt he was to “damaged” to move forward in a relationship, thus ending their friendship.
Move forward 3 years and Travis is head of security at Married in Malibu. Married in Malibu is a premier venue that the rich and famous wed. They are known as a top notch venue with super strong security so everyone can “let their hair down” and not worry about photographers and news leaks. . Amy’s is the maid of honor for her best friend, super model, Maya’s wedding. Maya planned her wedding at “Married in Malibu” because of the quality of weddings that the venue put on AND she knew Travis worked there. Amy arrived at the venue a few days early to make sure all the I’s were dotted and the T’s were crossed and nothing was left to chance. From the moment Travis and Amy saw each other all bets were off.
Travis learned to deal with his demons and they hot couple found their happy ever after. There were some unexpected twists and turns but overall a sweet book. Can’t wait for the next one in the series!
Love Reading Lucy Kevin’s book…… This is a heart warming story about true love… Enjoyed Travis and Amy’s story….
Loved this story.
Travis doesn’t think he deserves love and Amy never forgot him.
Add in a best friend who plays cupid, a groom who needs an ear to talk to, and a gorgeous venue and you have a wonderful story.
