From New York Times & USA Today Bestseller, Vi Keeland, comes a sexy new standalone novel.
The first time I met Brody Easton was in the men’s locker room.
It was my first interview as a professional sportscaster.
The famed quarterback decided to bare all.
And by all, I don’t mean he told me any of his secrets.
No. The arrogant ass decided to drop his towel, just as I asked the first … towel, just as I asked the first question. On camera.
The Super Bowl MVP quickly adopted a new hobby—screwing with me.
When I pushed back, he shifted from wanting to screw with me, to wanting to screw me.
But I don’t date players.
And it’s not because I’m one of the few women working in the world of professional football.
I’d date an athlete.
It’s the other kind of player I don’t date.
You know the type. Good looking, strong, cocky, always looking to get laid.
Brody Easton was the ultimate player.
Every woman wanted to be the one to change him.
But the truth was, all he needed was a girl worth changing for.
Turned out, I was that girl.
Simple right?
Let’s face it. It never is.
There’s a story between once upon a time and happily ever after…
And this one is ours.
Author’s note – The Baller is a full-length standalone novel. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

The Baller is definitely down and dirty and I loved it. Brody and Delilah were such a fun couple and I loved their banter as Brody tried to woo her. It also held so much more with past heartbreaks and loss. Great read!
The Baller loved the first half! Loved Brody and Delilah and their banter, also the fun they had in and out of the bedroom! All though Brody was arrogant and an asshat at times l did like him! But then we got to some parts of the story and was thinking why? But did enjoyed the ending!
This was super cute and fun! The one thing that I really loved about this was the banter between Delilah and Brody.
“I love you Delilah Easton.
How come your whispering now?” I teased. “Don’t you want the whole world to hear how much you love me?”
He kissed my lips.
“Didn’t you hear? I just told them.”
Hero and heroine have fantastic chemistry.
Delilah Maddox was recently hired as a professional sportscaster. Her first interviews are with players from the New York Steel football team. When she interviews Brody Easton, the Superbowl MVP quarterback, he decides to give her a real show to try and throw her off her game! 😉 Delilah is flustered but quickly recovers. Brody may be good looking but he’s still an a$$! What Delilah doesn’t realize is that she has caught Brody’s attention….he is interested in her in a big way! The sexual tension between these two is off the charts. It takes a while but these two finally give in to their attraction to each other and fireworks explode. Of course they try to keep things under wraps and fail miserably! Delilah is starting to realize that there is a lot more to Brody than she ever would have thought. Just when it looks like they will get their happy ending, ghosts from both of their pasts come back to haunt them. It will take soul searching on both of their parts for them to finally get that happy ending but it was worth it!
Wow! I loved this story! I really enjoy sassy heroines and Delilah gave it as good as she got it! Add in the dirty mouth that Brody has and this story is the perfect, laugh out loud, swooning romance you want to read.
If you’ve ever read any of my other book reviews, you know that I love a good sports romance and this one did not disappoint. In typical Vi Keeland fashion, it started out as a battle of the sexes sports story, but it developed into so much more of a complex storyline that dealt with addiction but also defined what family truly means. My only critique was that the addition of Willow’s POV later in the story was distracting. It made me sympathize with her too much and although I understand that there are multiple sides to a story, it confused me as to who the main hero and heroine were supposed to be. I felt like we as readers would’ve gotten Willow’s intent and purpose in the story just as honestly through Brody’s POV rather than giving Willow her own book time.

Well I have to say, I believe Vi Keeland can do no wrong. She continues to write fabulous books that I can’t get enough of.
The Baller was no different. She gave us a book with a fun, sexy and even sassy storyline and characters that were completely relatable and I couldn’t help falling in love with. This is a standalone novel told in dual POV. It is a football themed story, so if you like a sports romance then you will want to give this book a chance. I loved the aspect that Vi gave us in this book, it was different from other football stories I have read before. We get a behind the scenes look of a football player and the media that surrounds them.
In this book we meet Brody and Delilah. Brody is the star quarterback for the Steel. He is cocky, and arrogant, but oh so dreamy and sexy to boot. He is also a bonafied player and that is the reason Delilah won’t give him a chance. Delilah is a sports reporter for WMBC and does the locker room interviews after a game. This is where she meets Brody for the first time and lets just say their first interview is nothing short of interesting. Delilah seeing Brody as the player he is, wants nothing to do with him, but Brody won’t take no for an answer. What happens after that is a game of cat and mouse between to people who have growing feelings for each other but don’t want to act on them. I loved watching Brody and Delilah interact with each other, their banter was quite funny and had me laughing quite a few times. But there is also a serious side to both of these characters. Both have had trouble with past relationships and were left broken in the end. What happens when one person can’t let go of the past and the other’s past comes back to haunt them??? To get that answer you need to read this book.
We do meet a couple secondary characters who I thought were really great. I loved getting to know Marlene, Grouper and Indie. I thought they all played an important role in this story.
So if you are a sports romance fan and love reading about football, then this is the book you should read. If you are a fan of Vi’s then you don’t want to miss this book. And if you are a new reader to Vi, then I think this is a great book to start out with. She gives you a well rounded story. One that will make you laugh, smile, blush and even shed a tear or two. What else could you want?!?!?!
A quarterback and a lady reporter
LOVE THIS BOOK!
Snappy dialogue, dropped towels and hot sex brings a drop chin football player and a lady reporter into an explosive relationship. I laughed and I cried my way through the whole book rooting for Brody and Delilah. Be still my heart, I didn’t want it to end!!!
You have to let go of the past to move on
Steamy, enemies to lovers hotness!! Delilah & Brody start as fiery adversaries and evolve into passionate lovers. The hotshot quarterback is surprisingly sweet, despite his cocky attitude. Both of them have their baggage, but despite a wee bit of drama, they find their HEA. Enjoyed the performance too.
On of my favorites from Vi!
The Baller by Vi Keeland – The story of Brody and Delilah draws you in right from the beginning. Brody is a hotshot football quarterback and Delilah is a sports reporter. Both have histories that are not quite completely in the past when they meet. As they come together, they have to individually work through their issues to reach an HEA. There were some aspects of the story, used to reach closure, that were unnecessary. Aside from that, I really enjoyed the story.
I really liked this book ,i am totally loving Vi Keeland’s writing 🙂
I loved Brody from the start (he was such an asshole ) but it totally worked for him ,i loved all the weird questions he would ask Delilah ,they really got to know each other because of it and i loved seeing that he was willing to try relationship with Delilah even though it has been a long time since he had opened himself up for someone ,he’s a great guy and it was awesome to see him qned Delilah fall in love 🙂
I really liked Delilah ,she was a great character ,she felt real ,her first meeting with Brody was great, him dropping his towel was pretty funny (i know in real life this would totally not fly but it worked for this book) i can really relate to how Delilah handle that situation ,she kept her cool and once the camera cut out she gave Brody a piece of her mind and it was great 🙂 their banter was funny and i loved all the dirty talk between Her and Brody 🙂
The ending was really sweet 🙂
I enjoyed this book and i am looking forward to reading more from Vi Keeland 🙂
Vi Keeland can do no wrong!
This was the first book I ever read by Vi Keeland and I wanted to revisit what prompted my love of her books. I love a good football romance book and Keeland delivered a stellar book. Brody Easton, he is cocky, arrogant, and has such a big heart. The parts he shows the world doesn’t do justice to the beautiful human he is. Delilah is his perfect match. She gives him a run for his money. I love her knowledge and love of the game. Beautiful story. The book was just as great the second time around.
I loved this sports star romance. Quick easy read.
A book of lessons to be taught and learned. Brody was so cocky and yet charming as well. Delilah was not the type to let go of things she couldn’t control. I did like that she knew her job like the back of her hand.
Really liked reading this one. It was hot and a sexy read. Loved fun Brody and him & Delilah were a hot item. This one’s definitely worth the read!
Love a good sports romance…. and this one did not disappoint.
I, for the most part, really enjoyed this book. Brody was one hell of a character and I instantly loved him and all his cocky assholeness. He was funny and charismatic and it take long for me to fall for his charm. That is true for Delilah. As much as she tried not to like him, it didn’t take long for to fall for his charm as well. They were very cute together. I liked the ease of their relationship and their fun conversations.
What I didn’t necessarily like was the whole last third of the book. Someone from Brody’s past makes a reappearance and it has Delilah on edge for lack of a better term. This new person also gets some pov chapters which I found to be completely unnecessary because at no point did I care about this character and how they felt or what they were going through. I could have done without. It causes one-sided friction on Delilah’s parts because she starts projecting her own feelings onto Brody. At this point I was over Brody and Delilah’s relationship. She didn’t fight for her relationship with him and all her sadness and misery was brought upon herself for her actions.
Even though I enjoyed the majority of this book, the bs I had to put up with through the last third of the book totally killed any kind of feels I had at the beginning. Thus, making this funny and sexy read less enjoyable and a major eye-roll experience.

This was the first book I read that was read by a male and a female. It was interesting.
