Being the good twin isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Abby Levesque knows that better than anyone. While her sister drifts through life carefree, Abby’s left to clean up her messes. The latest mess? Hudson Quinn– the hot, angry billionaire on her doorstep demanding she accompany him to Paris. He’s obviously mistaken her for her twin, Gabrielle, who happens to be his assistant. Too bad Gabrielle … Gabrielle is nowhere to be found.
If Abby wants to fix her sister’s latest blunder, she’ll have to pretend to be someone else for two weeks–preferably someone who isn’t wildly attracted to her mercurial boss… As far as Hudson’s concerned, his sexy-but-flaky new personal assistant is just another in a long line of terrible decisions and failures in his life. But he’s working on the deal of a lifetime–a deal that could change everything for him–and he needs her help to close it. The last thing he ever expected was to connect with her on a soul-deep level. Falling in love wasn’t part of the job, and when Hudson finds out who she really is, Abby’s terrified he’ll never forgive her.
With a billion dollar deal–and both their hearts–on the line, can Abby convince Hudson she’s the right twin for him?

THE BAD TWIN is a story of mistaken identity (in case you missed that in the title). Good twin vs bad twin. Good being on the straight and narrow, bad following her whims and doing what she wants to with no regards for anyone else. Throw in a billionaire boss and you’ve got a quick and easy read.
While it is predictable, the story line moves quickly. This story has many different facets; deception, misunderstanding (yes they are different), humor, friendship, and so much more.
This is an enjoyable story that I would recommend for a rainy Sunday afternoon.

I look forward to reading more from this author.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from NetGalley.
Gabby and Abby are twin sisters who are totally opposites, good twin and bad twin.
Abby looses her job and is desperate to save her grandmothers home. While Gabby is out clubbing, she lands a job as a personal assistant and French interpreter to businessman Hudson Quinn.
Her main job is to travel with Hudson to Paris for a very important business meeting. Gabby is on her own personal road trip and unable to go to Paris.
Hudson comes to Gabby and Abby’s house, demanding Gabby get ready for the trip, Abby doesn’t know what to do and since they need the income to pay the monthly rent, Abby takes Gabby’s place. While in Paris, she makes mistake after mistake but is spending a lot of time getting to know Hudson. After a few days Abby is falling for Hudson, but she can’t tell him the truth.
What will Hudson do when he finally finds out that Gabby is really her twin sister Abby?
This was a quite enjoyable story. I found parts a little far fetched and expected more in depth discussions from the characters but overall it was a very enjoyable read with a good storyline.
4.5 STARS
This book is told in third person which is rare for me to read. When I first opened this book I was unsure if I would be able to finish it. I’m used to first person point of view so I was skeptical but I promise, don’t let that deter you from reading this. This was my first time reading Avery Scott and I loved this book so much that I was glued to the pages. I had to see what would happen next. I even woke up at 4am and opened the book and read for 2 more hours to finish it. I couldn’t get enough. The author is detailed and descriptive. She tells a story that had depth and layers to it. As soon as I finished this book, I instantly downloaded another one by this author. You’ll love her writing that much!
Abby and Hudson are magical together and this story is absolutely one you’ll want to read.
Living in Brooklyn and barely able to pay the bills, Abby Levesque is down on all hope after being “released” from her job at RSL. Having her identical twin sister, Gabrielle, who doesn’t keep up her end of the bargain, doesn’t make it easier when Abby is trying to make ends meet and keep a roof over their heads. Abby is nothing like her sister who parties her way through life without a care in the world. She’s determined and cares, more than she can say for her twin. Abby loves art and thrives on losing herself in the pieces she paints and observes. She’s an internal fortress of responsibility and self-respect where her sister thrives on the attention of the male species and uses her good looks and killer body to have rich men eating out of the palm of her hand.
When billionaire Hudson Pierce meets Gabrielle at the opening of a new bar, he’s instantly drawn to the woman who speaks fluent French. After all, she’s come to his rescue when he needed her help and what better way to repay her than offering her a job. With Quinn Holding’s on the verge of the biggest deal of their career, Hudson is headed to Paris to pitch the account his father has invested all his pride into. Hudson’s new assistant has prepared for this meeting, so when he shows up at her door so they can catch their flight, he’s surprised to see she’s not even ready. Abby is startled by the rich man standing on her doorstep insisting that she go to Paris with him. But knowing that her sister has skipped town on an impromptu vacation, Abby has no choice but to take on the identity of her twin. She has bills to pay and her house is on the line. She’s afraid to trick Hudson but she’s left with no other choice.
As Hudson prepares for his big presentation, he’s shocked to find his newest personal assistant is struggling to do what she’s supposed to. Abby is feeling overwhelmed, but she keeps pushing ahead. As the tension between her and Hudson grows, so do these strange feelings of something more. But what happens as the days pass and these two develop something neither one of them was prepared for? After all, when Hudson first met Gabrielle, he thought she was just another surface-level woman he could end up having a fling with. But this new version of “Gabrielle” is nothing like the woman he’s worked the last month with. This woman is classy, smart, and has a beauty to her that is oozing from her soul.
The chemistry was scorching hot and the feels were at an all-time high. Witnessing these two falling in love was simply breathtaking.
Really enjoyed these characters and this plot.

Another winner from Scott. This was a quick read for me, one that I fell into quickly and enjoyed every page. Scott has a great way of voicing the main characters, making them relatable, and providing a natural ebb and flow to the relationship that the reader ends up rooting for. I really enjoyed this book. Perfect for a weekend afternoon. I cannot wait to sit down and read it again.
A fun twin switching story. Gabrielle is not the most put together reliable person. Abby on the other hand is. Which is why she finds her self helping her sisters billionaire boss in France.
Needless to say it doesn’t go very well. But along the way love blooms.
This story held me entranced. I just kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Then I wanted to see the blow back because of the switch. And Oo La La did it drop! Not quite what I was expecting but HeLLO….talk about embarrassing and devastating. I had many feelings about these characters. They made me wonder and brought me joy. I also was frustrated at the situation along with fascinated with the art aspect. Hudson…Hudson..Hudson you are a wonderful man. I didn’t like you a first because of you womanizing ways but you redeemed yourself a couple times over. Abby I was concerned you would be too much of a pushover but you showed me that responsibility can pay off.
This is a first time author for me. I loved the idea of this story. It held up to my ideals. The story flowed along nicely and the characters were what kept me coming back and wanting more. This is a wonderful story that kept me guessing.
A case of mistaken identity and faking it, leads Abby to the life that she has dreamed of. What happens when Hudson finds out the truth? Will he ever forgive her? A good story!!
Absolutely loved this book. Kept me wanting more and did not disappoint at at all. Highly recommend this book.
Good romance between New York and Paris
Good romance, well written, a little melodramatic and predictable, but once started I wanted to know the end.
Abby has a rather frivolous twin sister, Gabrielle, who has just been hired by chance because she speaks French, by Hudson, a wealthy businessman. Abby has just lost her job when she is confused with her sister by Hudson, who brings her to Paris for a contract. Having no more money, Abby, takes her sister’s place so that she keeps their only source of income, but she finds herself even deeper into the problems, besides she does not know if she should be afraid or be seduced by Hudson.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I enjoyed this book a lot. I liked the premise of twin switching and that the story is for a majority of the time set in Paris.
The storyline was enjoyable to read and Abby is very likeable while with Hudson and Gabby, they eventually grow on you. I’m please that while Abby is considered the more conservative twin, they don’t downplay her beauty and that is she is a sensual person.
I loved reading how Abby and Hudson fall in love and the issues after it all comes to light leading to a great conclusion and satisfied ending for the reader.
The blurb drew me in and I couldn’t wait to read this, but it was a bit of a let down for me. I thought the story was okay, but I didn’t really like the characters. Abby is the reliable, good girl twin, while her sister Gabby is jump in with both feet, and to hell with the consquences. Totally selfish. So when Gabby’s boss Hunter comes to the house to pick up, and she’s not there, Abby makes the decision to take her sister place. I didn’t like Hunter, the way he treated and talked to her was horrible. I kept hoping I would warm up to him but nope I didn’t.
I received this book from Netgalley!
This was an ok read. For some reason I just did not care for Hudson or Abby. They both rubbed me the wrong way and it took away from the enjoyment of the book.
5 Stars
The Bad Twin by Avery Scott grabbed my attention from the moment it showed up on my recommended book feed. I couldn’t wait to dive in and find out what this book was all about. To say that I enjoyed this story is an understatement- I F-LOVED it! It was such a fun read- with a sweet, romantic, and emotional story that had just the right amount of drama and angst to keep things really interesting. There was so much to love about this book as the story delved into mistaken identity, family ties, sibling bonds, secrets, recrimination, guilt, passion, love, longing, courage, acknowledgement, discovery, being true to yourself, and chasing dreams.
Ms. Scott paints such a vivid picture- she took me on a sightseeing tour of Paris, creating such rich, vivid imagery- it felt like I was watching a movie and ‘seeing’ the story, instead of reading it.
Abagail Levesque is the practical, responsible, and reliable sister- while her identical twin is more of a spontaneous wild child. Abby had been struggling to make ends meet, especially so since losing her job recently in a company takeover. With a mortgage payment due sooner that she’d like- Abby is worried that they may lose their home. So when her sister’s boss turns up at the house expecting Gabby (her twin) to be packed and ready for a very important business trip to Paris, Abby is left with no choice but to assume her sister’s identity and try to salvage the situation- as Gabby seems to have gone AWOL. She’s totally unprepared for the job- and she’s going to have to ‘fake it till she makes it’. But not before making a few potentially costly mistakes- and falling for her ‘boss’ in the process.
Hudson Quinn is a bit of a playboy billionaire, who has a bit of a heavy heart. He’s under a lot of pressure to make sure an incredibly lucrative deal goes through without a hitch. He thought he’d hired the perfect person to assist him with the task- but he’s beginning to suspect that hiring her is just another mistake to add to his long list of failures. But their time in Paris has him questioning a lot of things, including his feelings. But what happens when things go off the rails? Can they salvage the situation? What happens when secrets are revealed? Will everything work out- or will it all end in emptiness and regret?
I loved Hudson and Abby right from the beginning- they were really interesting and incredibly endearing! I didn’t like Gabby much- she was so irresponsible, self-indulgent, spiteful, and careless. Even after she’d ‘turned over a new leaf’ I was still annoyed with her.
The story is told from duel perspectives- which gave me a complete ‘picture’ of what was happening and how the characters were feeling. It has such a great pace, and a wonderfully smooth flow- the story was incredibly easy to read, and I devoured it in a matter of hours.
The ending is perfect!!
Can not wait to read whatever Ms. Scott does next! I’m going to be all over it like white on rice!
Thank you, Ms. Scott!
I loved this book! This is a romance story that pulled me in right from the start. The author writes with emotion and well developed ideas. The characters pop off the pages and made the story feel realistic. I read this book in one sitting, a page turner to the end. Two sisters, Gabby and Abby. Abby is the responsible one and Gabby is more wild. What will happen when the sisters are mixed up? Can there be a happy ending for one of them? This is my favorite yet so far and a must read.
This book is sweet, enjoyable, exciting, and the story moves along at a brisk pace. The plot is consistent, realistic, and well thought out. The characters are likeable and show true depth; the chemistry between them is off the charts. The author did an excellent job in building the characters and bringing them to life. The writing style, vivid descriptions, and imagery drew me into the story and kept me captivated from start to finish. Definitely recommended!

Abby and Gabriel are identical twins, living in their grandmothers house. Gabriel has a job that she doesn’t take seriously, she blows off a big trip to Paris with her boss. When her boss shows up at the grandmothers house to collect her he instead finds Abby. Assuming it’s Gabriel forces her to pack and accompany him to Paris. Abby not wanting to lose the only source of income the twins have, goes along with it. The book goes on, on how Abby takes her sisters place and how there is love in the air between Hudson, Gabrielle’s boss and Abby whom he assumes to be her sister. Avery Scott takes you through a ride of deception, Love, and forgiveness. Great book, would absolutely recommenced.
