EVERY MOTHER DESERVES A HOLIDAY … hag.
Luckily, modern science offers some lovely distractions, in the form of cruise ships and European air travel. And this summer I’m determined to get away.
Mum is demanding the usual Duffy family all-inclusive Greek holiday. Dad wants to go camping in Norfolk. And Alex … well he’s asked me on a five-star luxury cruise.
The trouble is, his mother is coming too …
Suzy brings home the trials and tribulations of being a modern-day wife, mother and sister with great humour.

What Readers are Saying …
Lovely read
If there was such thing as comfort food in book form, this would be it. It’s like shepherds pie on a cold winters evening. I sat in my garden on an unusually warm sunny day and read this in one sitting. Really enjoyed it 🙂 – Dr Kate Richmond

Brilliant … Just Brilliant
I don’t normally write reviews, but on this occasion I had to. This is not my normal genre, but it looked fun. Couldn’t put it down. Read the book from start to finish in one sitting. Funny, sad, hysterical, normal, crazy… I could go on but need to download the next book from this wonderfully entertaining and fresh new to me, author. Recommend for anyone who needs a lift in spirit of just an entertaining read. Please, Suzy, keep writing, I am hooked. – Amazon Customer

This reminded me a lot of Bridget Jones’ Diary though I guess mostly because main character is female and British and it is written in diary-type entries. I had not read the books that come before this though and you don’t really need to but it would help. Actually when I was finished with this I immediately read the first book, then the short prequel, then the second book. So, all mixed up, and I wish I read them in order, but they are fun quick reads no matter what order you read them in! Quick, easy reads, I read them all within a few days. There were times I actually laughed out loud, dealing with families, toddlers, exes…
Still not sure
I have read several books in the Bad Mother series and have enjoyed them. Bad Mother’s Holiday is one that I sat with for a while after finishing it. I am still not sure if I liked it or not, as there were some things I enjoyed and found humorous and other things that I did not. So for me I am coming down the middle and just saying that if you are a fan of Suzy K. Quinn and her Bad Mother series then pick this book up and make up your own mind.
While this book had a few mildly funny moments there was zero romance in it. The book reads like a diary, which would be fine, but there’s more drama/stress than comedy. The story was pretty dry and I had a hard time making myself finish it. Juliette, the main character suffers a miscarriage and within three weeks she’s thinking to herself that she hopes she doesn’t “think about the miscarriage too much. I haven’t wallowed in self pity for a while now.” Sure, everyone mends and recovers both physically and emotionally at different rates, however, that just felt awfully fast. I guess that’s why it’s referred to the as the Bad Mother’s Holiday?
There were also several inconsistencies in the story. Such as:
“May 1st … the Corfu trip is only a few weeks away.” “May 4th Corfu is only a week away!” May 10th they leave for Corfu.
This book was just not my cup of tea.

Boring.
Boring
a delightful change of pace for me
It was an easy read.
Thankfully I got this for free, it was worth every penny; but no more. The humor wasn’t humorous, the characters seemed to have little, and it was a struggle to read. Those are some of the reasons I gave up on it about a third of the way through.
Read it twice.
Not as funny as I hoped
gave up after 60 pages ,just could not fine it funny ,
.
Couldn’t really get into it/ Probably won’t finish it.
I liked this series. It is written in the form of a diary which added to the entertaining value of the story. I have read 3 of the books in the series. Makes an excellent light reading break for intense thrillers or page turner mysteries.
I was sad when the book ended.
Started out pretty good then got tiresome and repetitive. At the end I could not see any kind of connection with the empregator and the empregnated
This read like my life at times! Not necessarily funny when it happens, but you look back and laugh saying you survived!
I did not care for the lay out of this book
The book was easy to enjoy. I enjoyed the book like I eat cake. I gobbled it up.
i didn’t finish reading it
Didn’t care for this book
