A modern Hades and Persephone retelling … My name is Sebastian Lindstrom, and I’m the villain of this story.Camille was a damsel, one who already had her white knight. She was caught in a world of lies that glittered like truth, secrets painted to seem harmless. I could’ve left her there. I didn’t. I never abandon the things I want, never lose sight of their shine, and Camille outshined all … shine, and Camille outshined all others. She was my breath of spring, an apple ripe for poisoning.
After all, every fairy tale has a villain, someone waiting in the wings to rip it all down. A scoundrel who will set the world on fire if that means he gets what he wants. That’s me.
I’m the bad guy.

Favorite Anti-Hero….ever! Love Celia Aaron!
Holy Freaking Canoli’s!!!
This is my very first Celia Aaron book and I am thinking where in the EFFF have I been….why have I not read one of her books yet???? Well now that I have, I can tell you that I have found another author to stalk!! Her writing skills are impeccable and finely detailed. Celia has built elaborate backrounds for the characters to structure their motivations and actions allowing the reader to fully comprehend the essence of the story. It is such a pleasure to read a story that just glides and flows effortlessly for the reader.
Rather than the antagonist of the story having psychopathic tendencies, Ms. Aaron has taken it one step further and given him the condition of a diagnosticated certifiable psychopath.
Sebastian is a functioning psycho with a side order of antisocial personality disorder. He speaks, his words cruel and cold, devoid of any emotion. He consistently shows no regard for right and wrong and ignores the feelings of others. He shows no guilt or remorse for his behavior. He steals away what he wants, and in this particular instance it is Camille, a headstrong biology teacher. Although Camille is otherwise involved with an employee that works for Sebastian, his only justification for committing this violation is his delusional belief that they were made for each other. He just had to be patient until she came to that realization and they could live their happily ever after. But really can they? Does The Bad Guy deserve love? Is he capable of returning such emotion?
She stared into my eyes, but she wouldn’t find any comfort there. Just me, a man dead set on possessing her.
I urge you to read this book to find out the verdict of Sebastian’s fate. It is quite the intriguing torturous tale.
4.5* Psychotic Stars!!
It took me days to finish this. I almost didn’t finish it but I really wanted to give it a fair shake and see how everything panned out. I thought some parts were really slow and dragged on. Sebastian was certainly an interesting character but the stuff that he did to get Camille were just crazy. Yes, I know it’s fiction and the fake people can do all kinds of crazy things, but it was just really out there. Sadly, this one just wasn’t for me.
Celia Aaron is always an author that before starting her newest release you always say “there is no way she can top her last book.” Simply stated, she has done it, yet again! The Bad Guy is deliciously twisted but at times breathtakingly romantic. There is absolutely no way to determine how Celia comes up with such unique and gripping dark romances-but she is truly an evil genius that always takes you on quite the rollercoaster ride.
Sebastian Lindstrom has been through many psychologists since he’s been a kid-and they all conclude the same about his personality. He’s a psychopath, the worst of his kind. He has no emotions, and has spent his life memorizing how he’s supposed to act in order to appear normal. Sebastian’s father has worked hard to try and teach him some semblance of normalcy. One night at a work function, Sebastian is knocked off his feet when he meets reserved Camille-someone already dating one of his employees. He insists their soulmates, and begins hatching a plan to kidnap her. When he finally kidnaps her, not only does Camille fight him at every turn-but she ends up feeling the spark between her and her captor. As feelings develop-something unheard of for Sebastian and his psychopatic tendencies, he realizes that in order to keep his soul mate at bay, he may have to let her go.
The two characters that Celia Aaron has created are two of my favorites I may have ever read. I found myself laughing during many of Sebastian’s inner monologues, and at times finding myself sympathizing for him. Camille is strong willed, and though she hates the feelings that have developed, never stops fighting for her release. A total must read for any dark romance lover. – Victoria
Another amazing read! So hot, frustrating, and sweet beneath it all. Highly recommend this amazing author and all her books!
“Would I enjoy toying with her a bit while she tried to find a way out? Of course. After all, I was still a psychopath.”
Sebastian is an unlikely book boyfriend that may just have become one of my favorites of all time. The banter, the completely unbelievable turn of events amounting to one amazing read!! I couldn’t even turn away because I was rooting for it the entire time. Crazy? Yes. Hot? Absolutely. Forbidden and completely against all that is accepted? Completely. Twisted, and hotter than even I thought it would be, rounding out to be a delicious end full of feels!! I smiled to myself throughout, loving every minute!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!

I knew without a shadow of a doubt when I read the blurb that I would fall for the villain. But then I started the book…
One dance and Sebastian stole a piece of my heart.
Everything after the dance is what had me questioning my choice.
They say it’s easy to fall for a Prince but the monster…it’s just not done, right? Well, sticks and stones may break bones but names will never hurt Sebastian. A lot of things won’t hurt him- he is his own brand of different. The secret parts of you long for him but you will fight. As a reader, even a lover of the dark, a small piece of you will question your desires…
But in the end, it all boils down to one question. Can the villain be the hero of his own story?
I giggled, smirked, and was absolutely giddy in this story. I was also appalled, troubled, and aggravated. I ran the entire gambit of emotions but in the end I felt the strongest one overcome them all…love.
I, Becky Rendon, can and do love a villain.
reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood
I found myself loving the psycho
I hope Celia writes more dark erotica. She is a master of weaving unique and captivating dark romances.
“Every bad guy is the hero of his own tale.”
Touching and riveting story with so many intriguing twisted layers, it’s a must read!!
Sebastian isn’t for the faint of heart. He’s deeply flawed, but even villains deserve love. Even bad guys should get a happily ever after, right?
Sebastian Lindstrom preferred thinking of himself as a “high-functioning psychopath.” Ultra rich, successful and gorgeous, he was accustomed to get what he wanted and dam the consequences. Meeting Camille at a formal gathering while she’s with his boyfriend no less, was no exception. She made him feel things he never understood, he had to be near her and after one dance he knew he had to have her.
So…he developed a plan with short term and long term goals…
And so the twisted and emotional journey between these two characters begins.
That’s all I’ll say about the story without giving spoilers away.
The plot except it was well exceptionally executed and written with characters that are well developed and likable.
I wasn’t crazy about Camille as she kept referring to Sebastian as psycho. However given the circumstances she was in, I got it. She added a dimension to the story that added humor and understanding to this mysterious larger than life persona named Sebastian Lindstrom.
The story was exciting and emotional as you see Sebastian struggle with the demons that drive him to do things he believes are the right thing.
As the story unfolds you learn, they both have secrets that affect them in different ways.
Was he a psychopath? I didn’t think so.
A villain? maybe.
Did he deserve a happily ever after? absofuckinlutely!
What about Camille, she seemed a little touched?
For me the story carried a subliminal message of understanding, family and love.
Oh there certainly were quite a few villains in the story alright. Probably worse than Sebastian, but they didn’t carry a label so they moved around causing havoc and despair without consequences…until they got caught by someone.
Exciting and unexpected.
This was dark but not too dark. There was humor and an innocence that was engaging. I loved it
Sebastian is so good at being bad. He’s filthy rich, powerful, and utterly ruthless. As a psychopath, he lacks normal emotions. But when he sees Camille for the first time, he senses something he’s never felt before.
Unfortunately she has a boyfriend. So he does the only thing that makes sense.
Kidnap the girl.
More than half of the story is told in Sebastian’s point of view, so we get to really dive into his crazy dark mind. See how he processes things and lives in the real world.
This was a really fun read, and I’m so glad I got a chance to read this. It wasn’t as dark as I thought it would be, but I enjoyed every second.
Another great book by Mrs Aaron. I absolutely love her books. This one was dark but romantic. Sebastian went to different lengths to prove his love for Camille. Wasn’t the sane way but in the end it was worth it. Camille grew to love Sebastian as the bad guy he is and nothing would stand between them. I’m so glad that Sebastian found his true love.
This story kept me guessing at every turn. The feels are off the charts and I absolutely loved all of these characters…well with the exception of the real bad guy.
Sebastian is dark and twisty and I loved every inch of him. Camille was his perfect mate, she just didn’t realize it at first. I crashed through every single emotion with them, their insecurity, the possessiveness, the fear, the acceptance, the resignation and at last, the love. Sebastian is so broken you can’t help but want to wrap him up and make him better and Camille is the only one strong enough to make that happen.
If you love someone, set them free, if they come back, it was meant to be. But, good heavens how I loved the chase.
This book is not for the faint of heart, but I absolutely loved it. Thank you Celia Aaron.
OMG!!! This book was dark and twisted in the best way possible. Sebastian Lindstrom is one sexy psycho. I was hooked to this book and couldn’t get enough at how crazy the main character Sebastian was, but I also couldn’t help loving him at the same time. Loved this book. Give it a try if you love dark romance.
