In a quiet country village, secrets abound.

For Ellie Saunders, the truth about that night … Saunders, the truth about that night puts both her marriage and the safety of her children in jeopardy — she has to protect her family, no matter what the cost. And Ellie isn’t the only one with something to hide. She and her sister Leo believe they have put their troubled childhood behind them, but Leo’s quest for the truth reveals a terrible secret that has lain hidden for years.
Ellie’s neighbour, former detective Tom Douglas, has escaped to Little Melham in search of a quiet life, but finds himself drawn into the web of deceit as his every instinct tells him that what happened to young Abbie was far more than a tragic accident.

Well, this is an odd one. An involving plot but not a writing style I liked. A couple of intriguing charachters that I’d love to read about again, but enough others that I didn’t connect with at all. Ms. Abbott keeps me on the edge of my seat with her Tom Douglas series. Her novels are suspenseful, dark and hard to put down. I have read about 7 of her books and planning to start Come A …
Lots of characters so it takes some concentration to follow at first. It quickly gets to the plot and then it’s a page turner! Interesting read !
This is one of the best books I have ever read! What a writer! What a story. There is no way to predict what will happen next! It’s a cliff-hanger to the very last line! Grab it and delve into the mind of a genius!
