Cinderella never had to deal with this crap. Jane isn’t entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn’t she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane … incident leave Jane wondering if princes—or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire—maybe do exist.
Except Brock Wellington isn’t anyone’s dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk—even if it was just a facade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it’s karmic retribution that he’s tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can’t have. But while they can’t have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . . .more
A very cute spin the the tale of Cinderella. I really loved Jane and Brock. They were very much alike in the fact that they were prisoners to their family and the pressure of taking care of their siblings after the loss of their parents. Jane’s sisters are the worse and it was nice to see her spend time with Brock’s brothers who are the best. Jane being hired to clean Brock’s house was the best thing ever because it really brought them together and the chemistry was both hostile and sexy. That was what I really loved about this book. Very fun read. Another winner for RVD.
I enjoyed this story immensely and wanted to reread the next two in the series as soon as I finished! A delightful story with a Cinderella twist! The characters are well-written and I especially love the Wellington brothers. Their interaction had me laughing out loud throughout the story.
A modern day fairytale where Cinderella meets her prince in this fun & witty tale of two opposites.
Prince Charming Brock Wellington wasn’t always a prince. I struggled a bit with some of his dislikeable characteristics. Just Jane was sweet and sassy. However, a bit of a pushover which was annoying. I wish she had more dauntlessness.
Supporting character’s were a hit and miss. I absolutely loved the hero Brock’s mischievious twin brothers and can not wait to read about these loveable characters in their own books in this series. Heroine Jane’s annoying sisters not so much. I actually disliked them very much. Grandfather Wellington plays a intricately placed role that shapes the character’s thoughts. A meddling older gentleman who was a quirky enigma.
With a wild and crazy back and forth courtship, few surprises, ornery animals, intrusive brothers, evil sisters, meddlesome elder, and a colossal, fancy ball.
I am looking forward to reading other books by this author that I own.
Jane has some loose lips when she’s nervous, “I didn’t… I mean, pink is fine.” Stop talking, stop talking. “Not all of my underwear is pink. I have black, too.” You have to love your siblings, and Brock has two pain in the ***es and they’re twins, but out of those two his brother Bentley cracks me up, “everything okay in here?” Bentley poked his head around the corner then grinned. “Oh, never mind, I can see things went just fine. Need to go take a cold shower?” Jane glared. “Don’t deny it. I can practically smell sexual arousal when it hits the air. Just remember to use protection; I’m too young to be an uncle.” Jane really brings out the horniness is Brock, “she smiled. “Cleaning hard wood?” Hard wood. Yeah, his wood was definitely hard. Eff. If he kept watching, he was going to explode on the spot, like a teenage boy.” This was the start of a really great series and I’m so looking forward to the next book
Oh this book was gorgeous! I am a big fan of Rachel Van Dyken’s work, so knew I would not be disappointed.
Jane has always been told that she is plain and boring. Her parents died when she was young, leaving her with the feeling that she was the glue who would hold her and her sisters together. The problem… her sisters are awful.
Brock is the heir to Wellington Inc. A prestigious company that makes him quite a wealthy man. His parents died when he was you and he blames himself. From that moment on he decides that he will become a “Yes” man. Even if it means that he will live his life making everyone around him happy – but himself.
That is until “Plain Jane” meets “Boring Brock”. The world shifts and the two of them realise that they need to deal with their demons and live for themselves.
There’s just one issue – Brock is due to be auctioned off, in a charity Bachelor Auction.
The journey of Brock and Jane is beautiful. To watch them evolve into who they are truly meant to be, is empowering.
Not only did I enjoy reading Brock and Jane, but I loved reading the other characters in the story.
This book had me smiling like a fool and feeling the warm fuzzies.
Can hardly wait to read the next instalments in this new series from Rachel Van Dyken.

I cannot stress enough how much I love the Wellington boys. They may be over the top, arrogant, and um, all about the “cock and ass” (the animals…at the ranch?!? What were you thinking?) but I would welcome them to my house any day.
Brock, Brant, and Bentley are all lost in their own way. I want to hug them, put them in my pocket, and party with their wild selves…or boring depending on my mood.
Each copes differently with their own personal demons. Brock, the eldest and yes man of the three, learns a valuable lesson. Sometimes it’s hard to say yes and it would be better to say no!
If you have read The Bet series, you will love the Bachelors. If you haven’t read them, conquer them too. But most of all, smile because Grandma Nadine will find you! ( Run from the woman in leopard print- don’t question it, just run!) Only kidding Grandma Nadine!

If you like Cinderella stories that having magical animals, look no further!
If you think I’m exaggerating, you might be right but you might be wrong…
Rachel Van Dyken has written another magical tale. it’s filled with humor, live, and enough dirty stuff to make Grandma Nadine proud! I loved every naughty minute of it!
ane has unintentionally became a modern day Cinderella, not by choice of course, but more so out of necessity, after her parents passed away it became her responsibility to take over the family cleaning business and care for her younger, and very irresponsible sisters. Not only does she clean up her customers messes, but she also finds herself cleaning up her sisters, and she gets no appreciation for all she does for them. She is often being treated like the ugly sister who gets left at home while her sisters go out on the town. just like the fairy tale, and she is fed up with it, she wants the whole fairy tale, with the prince and the happily ever after. And the moment she meets Brock she thinks her little fairy tale wish might just be possible…
The instant his eyes connect with hers Brock feels something in himself change, a feeling he hasn’t felt for a long time starts stirring inside him and he wants to grab it with both hands and run with it, but the last time he had that it his life it didn’t end so well. So he’s left struggling with memories of the past, the feelings associated with it, and a fierce desire to go after what he wants for a change, and to be damned with the consequences. He wants Jane, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to have her, even if it means walking away from everything he’s ever known…
This modern day fairy tale captured my attention right from the start and had me flying right through the pages in search of what I hoped to be a very well deserved happily ever after, with a touch of humor mixed in too, and I am happy to say that I found that and SO much more! Ms. Van Dyken’s uniquely crafted characters completely won me over with their witty one liners, charming down to earth personalities, and flirty infused banter. I wasn’t ready for the story to end, but I was pleased to see that there is another installment in the series in the works, can’t wait to see what she has in store for these characters next! I highly recommend you give this read a try, it’s sure to satisfy!
