He went to the woods to get away from it all. His past, the demons ever at his heels. And, perhaps most importantly, people. One million miles away from anyone.Save for the occasional visit from a client he had to endure. And that was exactly the way he liked it.Until one night, he finds her.Battered, scarred, tortured by the memories, in need of a safe haven. So he does the unthinkable. He offers … the unthinkable.
He offers to share his with her.
It’s not long before feelings start to arise.
Yet the demons refuse to stay at bay.
And two fractured people will have to see if it is possible to come together… without breaking everything apart.

WOW, that was a fantastic, beautiful and emotional read. I loved this book so much, I don’t even know how to begin with the review
Maybe with the fact, that I don’t know why, but every time I read Jessicas book, it happens way too fast. I would like to slow down and have more time with the characters and story, but it’s not possible The way Jessica writes is so amazing, gripping and addicting that you are not able to just put that book down
It’s not fair Jessica!
She doesn’t make it easy on her readers, really
Ranger … okay okay I’ll try not to drool (nonstop), but oh my goodness , this man is like the perfect mix of caveman/sweetheart/bossman/hothothot man-mountain from the woods.
And Meadow is the perfect mix of broken/sweet/badass women from the big city.
The couples are as different as you can make. They say opposites attract or are they not so complete different?
The story begins with the dark side of the world or rather the woods and proceeds with the long road of healing and appreciation, where the nightmares end and life begins.
I don’t want to give away too much but that’s a book that everyone should read (I recommend beginning with book #1, this series is really amazing, but it’s not necessary). It’s a must read for all the light dark romance, with a big HEA, lovers I loved this book!!! and I Ranger my newest bookboyfriend
All the feels in this latest release The Babysitter from Jessica Gadziala. She brings a different emotional depth that I haven’t seen in her other books. Or maybe this book just spoke to me louder than the others. JG brings two broken spirits together who find solace and healing in the presence of the other. Letting them mend on their terms without the pressure of an outside world that demands individuals to “get back to normal” so it doesn’t disturb the lives of others.
A possessive bulldog, cantankerous rooster, and lovable baby goat lead the cast of secondary animal characters that bring charm and levity to the story. Of course, everything comes full circle in her legendary epilogues which had me sobbing happy tears. Five big beautiful stars on this one JG.
The Babysitter; Ranger and Meadow’s story was the perfect combination of dark and light. This was definitely an emotional one. Starting off with an unimaginably difficult/traumatic situation. A situation that at some points your not sure if Meadow will get thru…but Ranger won’t let her give up.. he won’t allow Meadow’s darkness to consume her. Armed with an arsenal of furry and feathery friends and lots of coffee they unknowingly form an unbreakable connection, jump start the healing process && begin to erase some of that darkness…
This is a story about rising up…finding your voice again && letting love and life back in. For me “The Professionals” series keeps getting better and better and with each new book I fall more in love with all things “fixer firm” and I honestly cannot wait to see what happens next.
This book was a slow burn and it was perfect for this story! My mind is blown by how perfectly JG can tailor a story to each character. It starts off in a dark place but it fits. Who can resist a sexy man who knows how to survive, live and thrive in the wilderness. There is something primal and so hot about that. Plus who doesn’t love baby goats and dogs. I loved that even though there is a HEA, it is not perfect it’s real raw and messy. Another favorite from JG.
This book was one I was most exited for in the series and Jessica didn’t disappoint. I loved how rough, tough and gruff Ranger helped Meadow heal by giving he the peace she needed. Reading Ranger in last books- Meadow was exactly what he needed. What a great story about healing and finding someone through the process. I love stories like this. He has demons of his own. I loved this story and I loved Miller in it!!! Definitely think Finn’s will be an interesting one
I absolutely, positively loved Ranger and Meadow’s story!! There is this huge part of me that just wants to chuck my own current life and live the simple (yet very hard working) life that Ranger had created for himself. I was envisioning such peace and sense of accomplishment of working the land and providing for yourself. And this is exactly what Meadow needed and took on whole heartedly. What led Meadow to Pine Barrens was horrific and heartbreaking, it almost broke her, but Meadow was strong and she had Ranger, along with a menagerie of 4-legged and 2-legged companions by her side. Don’t get me wrong, there were times I just wanted to smack Ranger up side the head, and they both had major communications problems, but ultimately these two tortured souls were meant for each other and they both healed each other.
I seriously do not really know how else to express how much I loved Meadow and Ranger’s story. The companionship, the support, the second chance for Captain and all the other furbabies, and the peace I kept seeing and feeling throughout this book really resonated to me. There were some darkness intertwined but the beauty definitely overpowers and outshines all that. And then to finish off with the quintessential Jessica Gadziala epilogue was the icing on the cake. There really is no one else that can write an epilogue as awesome and honestly, breathe-taking, as this author. I am a kindle unlimited member, but as soon as I finished this book, I went right back to Amazon and purchased it, I loved it that much!
This book was so damn good!!! Ranger had a hard life before he built a house in the middle of the forest. Secluded. But Meadow was the best thing to happen to him. I loved their story so much! I’ve always dreamed myself of living the way they did in this book. To live off the land. It’d be hard work but so rewarding. I also love how a lot of Jessica’s books are huge on animals and doggy adoption and how the ugly dogs are the best dogs to adopt because those are the less likely to get adopted. It’s so true and inspiring.
5 Dark Stars
The babysitter is the fifth book in Jessica Gadziala’s Professionals Series.
Ranger lives in Pine Barrens woods which is owned by the government and well he’s not exactly supposed to be there. But the years pass and he is still left alone in his safe haven deep in the woods. Ranger has a self-sufficient cabin that he shares with his dogs, goats and Hens. He can go months without seeing another person. He’s works for Quin and helps with people that need to disappear for awhile
He hears things within the Woods and usually leaves things alone but one night he hears something he can’tn ignore, a woman’s scream. What he finds is a woman who has been brutally attacked and left for dead.
This was one hell of a read and a little darker then Jessica has done for awhile but let me say I really enjoyed how Meadow found herself within Rangers safe haven and then in turn helped pulled Ranger out of himself. This was a fantastic 5 star read for me.
Ranger is a man who lives his life in the middle of the Pine Barrens woods which is part of 1.1 million acres of the Pinelands National Reserve raising animals and harvesting off the land. It works out perfectly for the job he does for the fixer firm he works for – babysitting clients who need to be hidden away. He is content living his life alone with just his animals to keep him company. That all changes when he and his dog Captain hear a distressed cry coming from somewhere within the forest.
What they find is a woman who has been brutally attacked and left for dead. This story takes us on a journey of two people who have shut down emotionally due to past and current trauma’s as they come bond over over caring for animals and pick or gathering food from the crops.
Even though Ranger and Meadow are the main characters I have to say Captain, the dog, and Miller stole the show in every scene they were in.. So looking forward to Miller’s story.
This is the story of the reclusive, mysterious Ranger, who is a part of the Navesink Bank, a fixer organization. He prefers to live off the grid due to his PTSD disorder which is normal for ex-military personnel with a desires for alternate ways of treatment. Ranger is considered the babysitter because he is the one who hides the firm clients until their problems is resolved.
Ranger little cocoon is disrupted after his pet, Captain keen senses something off within the area. Ranger finds Megan is near death, beaten, torture and thrown into the woods to die. He willing to sacrifice his secrets for her to heal from the traumatic ordeal. The attraction becomes strong and unexpected for two damaged souls while in the wilderness.
This is a story of healing, survival and revenge when all of life’s unpredictable works out beautifully in time. I loved Ranger and Megan story.
