First, I want to thank Sheryl Browne, Bookouture, and Netgalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
The Babysitter A Gripping Psychological Thriller with Edge-of-your-seat-suspense was written by Sheryl Browne. One of my favorite genres to read are Psychological thrillers. The description of the book, the title and even the cover of the book made me want to read it. Even though I had never read from this Author before. I am now an instant fan after reading this book!
After reading this book I totally feel that it would make a huge box office hit at the movie theater! One that I would definitely go to see. I think others would agree with me after reading this book too.
I absolutely loved how the story started out Jade acted all sweet and innocent. However, as the book developed you saw her character develop into how twisted and sick her mind really was. Not the type of person you would trust with your children!
One of my favorite characters was Poppy the little baby. She was adorable throughout the book.
Excellent! Early in this book, the reader is privy to exactly how the rest of this book is going to turn out. You have to read it though because you have to know how it all goes down. I wanted to shake Melissa for being so naive and stupid! And DI Cain for being a detective couldn’t see what was going on right in front of his face. It’s an emotional ride though, and I recommend one takes it!
I’ll start by saying, I absolutely loved this book. The Babysitter – sounds sinister already and that’s just the title. It’s a multiple perspective psychological thriller that grips and doesn’t let go. As soon as I had a taste of the characters traits and desires, I had to keep going straight to the high-octane end, only stopping to sleep! Thank goodness it was Boxing Day.
Sheryl cleverly manipulates the reader into gradually letting down their guard until – bam! It’s like consuming the main course then realising the chicken was pink in the middle – doom and disaster!
As soon as the babysitter comes into Mel and Mark’s life, you know their troubles are about to start. Jade is so lovely, right? She loves the children? She becomes a tower of support for Mel, who is itching to begin working more after recently having a baby. You hope the tower of support won’t crumble but you know it will, just like a wobbly Christmas trifle. Just how far will it topple though? Will it be a mere splodge or will it ruin the carpet?
If you like your psychological thriller platter to be filled with huge dollops of evil and lashings of manipulation, then you need this on your reading menu. What are you waiting for, tuck in!
So over the top. Great premise, but it gets bogged down in trying to be so dramatic. Did love this one.
Rarely am I disappointed in a book the way I was disappointed in this one. There were simply too many holes in the plot. Moreover, the main male character was a police detective, yet he couldn’t see what was happening in his home. I cannot recommend this book.
Unable to put it down. Very unusual and extremely fascinating. Recommend to all
Too predictable.
To predictable.
predictable
This book was a tad predictable but none the last suspenseful and exciting! I could NOT put it down.
Too predicable .
This was a very suspenseful book.
. Couple of times I had to walk away from it because it was so intense. But I hated the ending. Just sayin.
