Liz Kingston spends her life delivering babies and longs for one of her own. All she needs is someone with fabulous genetic material. Who better to ask than her sexy ex-fling, who has no interest in ever settling down or being a father. International correspondent Grant Wilbanks loves danger and travelling the world. But nothing in all this Brit’s experience could have prepared him for the way a … for the way a torrid affair with Liz makes him feel. When she asks for his assistance, he figures he can help her out with a simple donation. No strings, no emotions, just…test-tube science.
But this simple favor gives them both more than they ever bargained for. Grant agrees to her terms, but stepping away gets harder and harder because the more time they spend together, the more he finds himself falling…and losing the battle to safeguard his heart.

This is a true second chance romance. Liz and Grant met in Africa, Liz was working with Doctors Without Borders in Nairobi, Africa, and Grant was on assignment in Kenya covering civil unrest. They had a quick and explosive affair that changed both of them although they didn’t realize how much until later. Liz is back in her hometown with her own OB practice. Grant had to leave Africa due to a scandal and is told to lay low in Buckleberry Bend, NC where his Aunt Dottie lives. It is also Liz’s hometown. Liz happens to live right next door to Dottie. Hmmm…. To say their first meeting is contentious is an understatement, but the chemistry is alive and well. Then, Liz makes a proposal to Grant that he unexpectedly accepts and the story begins. Both of them have a lot to reconcile with themselves and one another. The Baby Project is sweet, quick, entertaining, a bit complicated, and all sorts of fun.
An amazing story about love that will keep you emotionally involved. Miranda does an awesome job drawing you in, getting your feelings involved in the story and has you rooting for Dr. Elizabeth Kingston and International TV Journalist Grant Wilbanks.
Liz and Grant met while she was working for Doctors Without Borders in Africa. They had an affair that turned into more for both of them, but Grant walked away because he was afraid. Liz returned to her hometown and Grant walks back into her life a year later, living next door in his aunts house for the Summer. Liz and Grants have tons of chemistry and they are good for each other.
The characters are well developed. You feel what they feel when their happy, sad, angry, and scared. This book is a page turner, and as I stated above … the story has you rooting for Liz and Grant. I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
