Loss effects people differently and how they deal with it. In Book 1, Julia ran away from Shadow Creek and in Book 2, we get to read Jack’s story and learn why he ran. This is an emotional read, but I highly recommend this story about Jack and Lily. No spoilers, so grab your copy and see what happens.
I enjoyed the book, because it speaks of second chances and the ability to forgive. Everyone makes choices that affect the people they love, but being able to come back home is always important.
Victoria James is a new author for me and I really have enjoyed her novels. Jack story was warm with some unexpected twists and turns. This is one author that I’m going to catch up on previous books and I look forward to the new ones coming.
While an easy read, this book was predictable.
This was a great book! Would really like to read more by this author.Just when you think things are going one way, they switch!
The Baby Bombshell is the the 2nd book in the Shadow Creek Montana series. It can be read as a stand alone. I didn’t read the 1st book and I had no problem following the story. This book was very sweet. Even in the sad moments I couldn’t help but smile at the characters in this story. They were all just so lovable and down to earth. Jack was very sweet. He knew he messed up and he was willing to do what ever it took to get the love of his life Lily back. I could understand Jack’s pain. He suffered a great loss. I was upset that he was gone for 5 years without saying anything to Lily, but I was so glad that he was faithful to her the whole 5 years. He did other sweet things too while gone that really helped me forgive him. Lily was so relatable. I could feel her pain, her love for Jack and her fear. My heart broke for all the pain she went through when Jack up and left. I loved both Jack and Lily together. Their relationship had a nice build up. No insta forgive and forget. Jack had to earn her trust back. I also loved Jack’s whole family. His sister Gwen was funny and very likable. So was his ex-sister n law and his best friend who’s love story is in book 1. Now I kinda want to go back and read their book too. The ending of this book was very sweet but more of an HFN than a HEA. I am looking forward to more books by Victoria James.
Lily Cookson has spent the last five years trying to get over her ex-fiance, but so far that has been easier said then done, no matter how hard she tries to move on, there is always something there to remind her of him and what they had. When he left town unannounced and walked out on their relationship she was completely beside herself, they had plans for their future in place and when he left he completely wrecked everything. But little by little she has rebuilt her life, found a new future, unfortunately for her though her past is about to make an reappearance and could possibly change the course of her new life…
Leaving Lily behind was the hardest decision that Jack Bailey has ever made, and one that he is certain will haunt him for the rest of his life. She is the love of his life, but he was a wounded soul, and no amount of love from her could have fixed the broken parts inside of him, he needed space to heal, away from all of the constant reminders, so he packed his bags and walked away. But now he is back home and ready to fix what he broke five years ago when he walked away, question is will Lily be willing to let him back in again…or has she already moved on?
This heartwarming tale is about rebounding after an unspeakable loss, rebuilding the relationships that were lost along the way, and re-discovering a lost love. These two well crafted characters lost so much, not only one another, but also family members, and it took a huge toll on both of them. But, little by little they found their way back to one another, and also a way to mend what was broken, and I have to say it was a beautiful thing to witness. It has been a while since I have settled down with a book by this author, but it didn’t take me long to remember her writing style, she has a special way of creating these touching story lines that are so easy to just fall right into, immediately start to stir your emotions, and have you forgetting all about the world around you. If you are looking for a read that will tug on your heartstrings, and lift your spirits, then I highly suggest you pick this one up, it is sure to do the trick!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this title.
