One key, one door, one man, one leap.
Alison Wescot inherited the antique store the day her mother died. It was nothing she wanted, but she couldn’t part with it. The antiques inside were all she had left of her mother. She thought she knew every piece in the store, until one day she discovered a box with a key inside, along with a letter from her mother. A key to a door she never knew existed.
knew existed.
Lucas Azure is the leader of the kingdom’s elite guard, a group of men whose sole purpose was to protect their territory and people. The youngest of the king’s four children, he was also the deadliest. The men in his group followed him faithfully, never questioning his orders. When Alison appeared, he knew he had to protect her at all costs.
The day Alison walked through the door, her recurring dream became a reality. The man who always remained a mystery was standing before her. There were dragons flying overhead and a castle in the distance. She was now in the Azure Kingdom.

Imagine, if you will, for one second you had a dream and it was so vivid, it scared you. In this dream, you saw a man. You can’t talk to him or touch him, but you feel an immediate connection to him and him to you. Imagine, this is a recurring dream you have nightly. That is Alison Wescot’s reality. Every night Alison falls asleep dreaming of this handsome young man, not knowing he does the same. One day at work she discovers a note from her mother in an antique dresser. It tells of adventure and a family Alison never knew she had, however, what the letter didn’t tell her was the man she dreamed of; not only was he the son of her father’s enemy, he dreamed of her too! Accompanying the letter is a key and it holds all the answers! Alison has a choice to make: Stay in Colorado and continue leading a life she’s not excited about or find her sense of adventure as her mother did and use the key. How is this even a choice?!
What an interesting story! I was hooked from the first page. It was engaging and I was fully invested in what happened to each character. I look forward to what happens next!
The Iridescent Realm Book One.
Alison Wescot is working in the shop she inherited from her mother when an older couple finds a hidden compartment in one of the cabinets. Alison opens the box inside to find a key and a tale of another realm and her father. With nothing to hold her to this realm, Alison decides to take the leap and go to the other world. When she arrives, she finds out that her father is known as a ruthless king who killed the best friend of the man she has been dreaming about for years. Now, Alison has to figure out who her enemies and friends truly are before she is traded as a war prisoner. Her instincts tell her that Lucas Azure is her only way forward, even though her father is Lucas’s mortal enemy.
If you’re looking for a story about another world, one with danger tempered by love, this is the book for you.

Well…this is written sort of like it’s for teen girls…but there is so much “steamy” language with the female lead character panting after a man she just met that I wouldn’t really want a teen reading it…Although this really isn’t my style of reading due to all the sex, I kept reading due to the dragons and swords, which is really what I like in my fantasy reading. I don’t know that I would buy more of these, but if you’re someone who likes females who rely on men to protect them, and who pant after them, this would be a great book for you. Just not for me There is a cute premise on how the woman gets to the Azure Kingdom from earth.
There was a sense of a adult fairy tale. Yet there were parts that were realistic and then you add steamy. Yes, it was a good read!
This is the first book in The Iridescent Realm Series, a Fantasy Romance. I loved it! Alison and Lucas’s story is sweet, original, fast-paced, and entertaining. They share an instant attraction and a strong chemistry. Elliott, Addison, and Oliver are great supporting characters, and I would love to know more about them. The storyline is captivating, and the ending is beautiful. The scenery is well described. Sarah Puckett did a fantastic job with the narration. Now, I can’t wait to listen to the next installment in the Series, The Pine Forest, Addison and Oliver’s story. I love Michelle Dare’s writing. She never disappoints.
The Azure Kingdom by Michelle Dare is a fantasy romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett.
This is the first book in The Iridescent Realm Series and follows Alison and Lucas love story. This is the first fantasy book of Michelle’s that I have read and it took me a bit to get into it. But overall it was a good insta-love story. I cannot wait to see how the series progresses in the next book The Pine Forest that will follow Oliver and Addison’s love story.
Sarah did a great job on the narration. She always knows how to bring a story to life.

The Azure Kingdom (The Iridescent Realm, Book 1) drew me in with its synopsis. I absolutely loved the thesis, very intriguing. A magical key and mystical realm. A vividly exemplified story. The plot pulls you in & captures your mind. I’m looking forward to what’s next in this fantasy realm series.
Narator Sarah Puckett did a super craft narrating this audio. Easily distinctable characters and wonderful performances with male vocals too. Her tone is perfect.
This is a great start to a series.
This book is well thought out and interesting
Chemistry between the characters is very entertaining.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book via Booksprout.
Wonderful fantasy. I loved the story.
This book was fun to read. It took me into a different world that was entertaining to be in and had happy endings. Although not all were happy it was not too sappy but to some degree it was.
The start of a Great series! Love the world-building, the strong characters, the witty banter, the twists and turns (in the plot), all of it!
I liked the story, but too many pages devoted to sex made me lose interest. It kind of derailed the action.
Read the 3 book series. Steamy, action packed and whimsical fun reads. Loved them.
did not like
Enjoyed the twist
Too many sexual innuendoes.
Loved it!!
The premise was promising, however, the characters actions and decisions were unrealistic and kept throwing me out of the story.
Interesting concept
Too many graphic steamy bits for my taste.
