Interesting book by Brittney Mills which features themes of acceptance, family dynamics, and different countries. The characters are interesting and their interactions are varied and hold your interest. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend reading it.
A selfless father knows best!
This romance honors a deceased father’s legacy and the long lasting impact of a life of service. I really enjoyed this story about how the work we do for others can have a profound change in their lives, the least of which might be money.
This story was romantic and sweet, with a touch of pride and prejudice; and in some ways, both the hero and heroine were Cinderellas. I love that they find their happily ever after despite their loss…and as a result of the funeral of her dad/ his coach, their metaphorical fairy godfather.
What a great read! Loved this billionaire romance.
I enjoyed every aspect, from the plot, to the characters, to the setting. I loved Jackson and Hailey, and it was so fun to see their relationship develop from hostility (at least from Hailey’s part) to respect, friendship and love! Being an Australian myself, it was fun to see some of those aspects in Jackson’s character as well.
Was this novel a tad bit predictable? Yes. Was it a bit cliche? Yes. But did I still enjoy it? Yes!
I would recommend this to all lovers of clean, sweet romance.
Rating:
This was a beautifully written novel. I’ve loved every book that thsi author haspit out and this was no exception. This is the first book in this series and has done a lot to create a whole romance along with introducing some of the characters coming for the next stories. I love the concept of the IBC and how the sorrow, pain, and love was wrapped together. All the aspects of this novel, even the small ones, have strength and meaning to their spots in this story. I don’t want to spoil it but the event that I cannot say anything about, was wonderfully orchestrated. (Hint: Look out for the charity. That’s all I am going to say.) I loved, well didn’t love, but the funeral in the story was amazingly written. The power that words can hold is unmeasured and this book does prove that fact.
I received a review copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Loved that a foster kid doesn’t let that way of life define him in a negative light as some do. He still chose to believe in himself and went to college. Well not necessarily making the best choices, he finds a mentor who becomes a lot like a dad to him and helps him to make something of himself (to the billion$). When said mentor dies and he returns to the funeral he finds attraction to a lady who holds some prejudices against him. How does it pan out, would the mentor be proud if he was still here? This was just an all around good, sweet and clean listen.
I thought the narration was excellent, nice accents.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving this review
This is a delightful story even if it does start with the death of a dear friend and mentor. Jackson Walker owed Coach Montgomery more than even his billions could cover and his death hit him hard. Hailey Montgomery disliked everything to do with sports, football, football players and Jackson Walker in particular even though she had never met him. Using that as a start, Britney M. Mills has written a sweet romance based on overcoming that animosity and two continent lifestyles. I look forward to more stories from the International Billionaire Club.
Boy did I cry. The romance itself is not a tearjerker it’s the circumstances around it. When Jackson’s mentor and surrogate father dies, he returns to the states for the funeral to meet the oldest daughter, Hailey, for the first time. Their relationship develops until an old girlfriend shows up. Will they trust each other and stay together?
