In 1791, two men began planning the layout for the nation’s capitol city. One is shunned and resigns in disgrace, and the other is all but forgotten. Years later, an original copy of the plans — long thought to have been destroyed — is found, with hastily marked notations by Thomas Jefferson and George Washington.
During the second World War, American military scientists discover some … fascinating properties of the hydrogen atom and its link to an ancient mystical number. The exact findings are never published, but a national laboratory is built in 1943 to further their research in covert silence. America is told it is a defense project, code-named “The Manhattan Project.”
An ego-maniacal entrepreneur and his company, Vilocorp, will stop at nothing to build the “perfect” human specimen. His firm’s research has been getting closer every day, but they seem to have uncovered a horrific, ancient secret that has been locked away for thousands of years.
Now, it’s up to Bryce to understand the mystery surrounding the events and ancient symbolism before Vilocorp unleashes a hellish fury upon the earth; one that hasn’t been seen for ages…

One of my favorite authors…I read anything of his I can find.
Good story, enjoyed reading. The villains seem to get ahead in the story with little effort.
Good story line, interesting premise. Enjoyed the read.
Mixed genres, predictable Hollywood ending of earthquakes, collapsing buildings, etc.
Though using an idea that has seen much travel, the author was able to keep the immediate details new and fresh with some twists that were unexpected. An enjoyable romp in familiar territory with very little to disappoint. I recommend it for all but the most jaded and critical of readers.
I liked the exotic ancient archeological settings and mixture of esoteric teachings and treasure hunt.
very good Atlantis fiction thriller
Never finished. Could not hold my interest
There was a lot of potential but it never really panned out. There were too many convenient elements and it was very predictable. I have read this story 10 times before with different characters.
Great writer in everyway ! Kudos, Nick !
Was not my type of book
was a good book. enjoyed the story, and amazed at what the author came up with
Slow, wordy, feels like you are slogging through it
Interesting and suspense
OK – but the hook that draws the characters into story is weak. Not realistic that the situation would have remained.
Not a top shelf book.
Because of this book, I now am reading his others books. So far he does not let you down.
Disjointed
Interesting story. I enjoy reading about history even if it is fiction.
Good characters.
Fascinating read with interesting prise.
