The Ashryn Barker Trilogy is a low-heat urban fantasy reverse harem that I listened to on audio narrated by Charlotte Storm.
The Box Set Included: Shattered Illusions, Broken Illusions, and Tarnished Illusions, as well as exclusive happily-ever-after scenes in Restored Illusions.
Laura did a great job on this trilogy. I really enjoyed the HEA scenes in Restored Illusions. I felt that it helped wrap up the entire series.
Charlotte did a good job on the narration. At times I got confused on which character was talking due to no variation between characters voices. But overall it was an enjoyable experience.

I tried, but after a few chapters, I couldn’t continue. Loved the concept, and thought that it had potential. The author just didn’t make me want to continue.
Ashryn is an amazingly strong character and her snarky horny inner dialog is hilarious! her life is turned upside down when she is sent on a highly risky mission but the ramifications from that roll over her life and change it in unimaginable ways.
brilliant characters and strong storyline.
This book trilogy has a lot of very interesting ideas about vampires and hunters. I loved the information that we got through this to the point that it felt as if I were there along for the ride as well. It is a series that will grip your attention from beginning to end. Narration was done very well also.
Ashryn started out as a vampire hunter, one of the best. Then she got bitten and turned. She starts to adapt to being on the “other side” as a vampire, and finds it’s more to her liking than her life was as a hunter. The vampires seem more “human” than the hunters, and she is more at ease around them, especially “her” four. She starts having romantic/sexual fantasies. Slowly her previous beliefs are proving false – she has been the victim of a complicated deception. Now it seems everyone wants her dead, possibly for her unusual power. Her solution is to shut down the guild, which is turning children into murdering, heartless soldiers, rescue the children, and live happily ever after with “her” vampires.
It’s a good read, lots of action, romance, introspection with self-discovery, and investigation of a new life (make that undead life) and new interesting relationships. I started with Book 1, “Shattered Illusions”, but it left the story hanging unfinished and unresolved. So I bought the trilogy – that’s what I advise you to do. Everything is resolved and tied up with finality.
Boring and disappointing; a real waste of time.
This is listed as a trilogy, but is, in fact, a single book. The first two books pick a place to stop (not based on logic, the story, or traditional markers of a book being finished), and declare themselves complete. They are not, and if I had bought them separately, I would have rated each as 1 star.
The story tries to stay action-packed, but it just feels like the characters are racing from one stupid decision to the next. By the end of the book, I was cheering for the nuclear alternative, where everyone just kills each other off. No such luck, but it gave me something to look forward two.
The book also tries to be a reverse harem romance. Sadly, the romance is confined to the last 20 pages, and the lead up simply was unconvincing. Rather than keeping the 4 losers, our heroine should have just left. Although, it must be said, I would not be offering Ashryn a place to stay
A good idea, wasted in the execution.
I really liked the story, especially the concept and the main characters. I was just frustrated to have such a bad a@# hunter and she was constantly being caught and being wussy. She has an awesome power but doesn’t use it. Plus, she would come up with a plan but the reader would have no idea of what was to come. This was also a reverse harem with no sexy times and were she just assumed they all liked and wanted her. There was a lot I liked but also a lot left out. It did help to have the additional book/epilogue at the end, it helped me end the book with a better feeling. The book did have something constantly going on throughout, it was very action packed.

I originally received these books as ARCs when they first came out and rate them at about a 3.5 for me.
I like the concept behind these stories; the hunter switching sides and realizing the enemy, and therefore the world, isnt exactly as you thought. This is a reverse harem book, so with romances brewing along side the action theres barely a slow moment.
From the age of six she was taught that they where evil should die. Then she became one of them and all her beliefs where shattered, and truths revealed.
The Ashryn Barker Trilogy by Laura Greenwood and narrated by Charlotte Storm was entertaining, loved confident, snarky, brave Ashryn and her four devoted ever present companions Eric, Bram, Remus and Dimitri. This story is well written and delightfully performed. So glad it was put together as a trilogy.

There is no sex in these stories. Just a bunch of heavy steam filled kissing. This is story is built around Ashlyn Barker’s vampire hunter life then her vampire life. The vampire men in her life are Dimitri, Bram, Eric and Remus. The books in the series are….
#1. SHATTERED ILLUSION
#2. BROKEN ILLUSIONS
#3. TARNISHED ILLUSIONS
#4. RESTORED ILLUSIONS
This book was a fun read, but feels rather short for a full series. All does come to have a happy ending.

I enjoyed this hunter turned vampire trilogy. I always enjoy a confident, snarky heroine, and Ashryn remained that throughout the books. The books are full of twists and surprises as Ashryn gets turned into a vampire, finds out she has been lied to and betrayed, and comes to terms with her new life and mission. The books are interspersed with suspense, some mystery, drama, and plenty of humor. I would have liked to know more about the vampires, but this is Ashryn’s story. Laura Greenwood tells a great story overall, and the writing is crisp and clean.

Loved this series as separate books so I loved the idea of having them in an omnibus. I enjoyed this series thoroughly and recommend them highly. I like that there is a new scene added with the HEA. It’s YA so not too much steaminess but I like YA books so no problem there.

Ashryn is an awesome lead! I was excited to see this trilogy in one box set. Ashryn is tough, and has her whole view of vampires and hunters completely re-arranged after she gets turned. There is action, romance, and some humor. Great series!
Vampire hunter versus vampire. Who are the real bad guys here?
This is the complete series collected in one volume. I had previously read the first book and struggled with it a bit, but going back and completing the series gave me a better appreciation for the whole. There are still a few odd gaps in the plot, but the stories pull together well and having them in one volume gives a very satisfying conclusion which was not present in the just the first book.
Overall, the story is well written with interesting characters and a easy to follow plot, although there are a few twists and turns to keep things interesting.
I highly recommend picking up this collection and getting all the pieces at once.

She has been taught one thing about vampires and she kills them. She is about to learn everything she had been told is not what it really is. Follow as she takes you on a journey through her life

The Ashryn Barker Trilogy: The Complete Urban Fantasy Reverse Harem Trilogy by Laura Greenwood is an amazing box set to read. I am so glad I got to read this box set from one of my favorite authors. She made me feel like I was living the stories instead of just reading them, I highly recommend this amazing box set to everyone who loves reading about vampires.

Loved this trilogy and having them all together in one book is a great deal…. Emotionally thrilling, Sexy, Engaging and Entertaining romantic adventure filled with danger, secrets, excitement and so much steaming hot passion…. was crazy hard to put down once you start reading. Includes an awesome bonus at the end.
This trilogy had me hooked from the start and until the last page. Ashryn is a legendary vampire hunter turned vampire which really added a wicked twist to Ashryn’s life. I like the way each book smoothly transitioned to the next and are full of action, betrayal, suspense, strong characters and some reverse harem heat.
What a cute trilogy, I haven’t read an ‘innocent’ book in a long while! By innocent, I mean no sex scenes, doesn’t mean that she doesn’t think about it 😉 . Iwouldnt mind reading more of the Ashtyn Barker series actually, like how do they actually reform Ravi, what happens in the long run to the other Hunters and where did all the kids go? I really recommend this book and love, love the HEA ending Laura has done.
