more
Ashryn has essentially only known the life and world of a vampire hunter. hunt, fight, kill survive, repeat another day.
a legendary hunter, her name is supposed to be secret outside the guild, but she is sent into a trap solo, deliberately.
when she finds herself living a new life, as a vampire, her perspective is drastically challenged, to say the least.
she was never told most vamps are born, not made. never told that agreements were in place to keep vamps in line and send hunters only after rogues and miscreants – then something changed, and the hunters became monsters, hunting indiscriminately.
she faces the destruction of most beliefs she held before, become the species she hunted before, but not that which she had been taught to hate and kill – and she has the insight to know the difference.
fights, captures, tortures, and steamy romance are part of her journey to free the vamps from the guild – as well as to free the other hunters who were raised from childhood into hate and destruction.
an exciting and steamy saga!

Shattered Illusions – How would you feel if what you had been taught in life was a lie. Ashryn has to deal with that very fact in book 1. Love the characters and the interplay between them.
Broken Illusions – Ashryn’s knowledge of the world around her is questioned further in this book. She also learns more about her life now and the people she shares it with. Book 2 is just as entertaining as book 1 with the characters developing further.
Tarnished Illusions – This is the final story in the Trilogy. Ashryn is looking to finish what was started in book 2. This means not only dealing with the place she grew but also her men. Life seems to get more complicated at points in this story leading you to question how it’s going to end.
This trilogy is well worth reading and the extra story at the end is the ending you will find yourself wishing for all along.
Shattered Illusions
True to form this book takes the reader on a wild ride. I loved the beginning of this series. Ashryn is one of the best vampire hunters around. She’s never really fit in with the hunters, but oh well. When she’s sent to check out a vampire’s nest alone, she doesn’t think anything about it. Now her whole world has changed and she doesn’t think it’s for the better. She meets three enticing vampires and has a new reality to wrap her head around. Remus is my favorite right now. Eric has the power and Bram has a chip on his shoulder. You think that she’s got enough to figure out, but no, her expertise is still needed.
Broken Illusions
Ashryn is accepting her new reality and the men there to help her along the way. Everything is not what it seems, either. Secrets in the Guild and in the vampire camp are a constant worry. With her power, she does have a bit of an advantage. I loved the way she got Bram to talk to her while they were hiding from the hunters. It did wonders for his attitude towards her. Just when she thinks she’s learned the truth about all the lies she had been taught from 6 years old, she learns something new. Her whole world is not what she thought, but she has four vampires ready and willing to help her cope.
Tarnished Illusions
I love this world and the fascinating history of the Hunters Guild and how it went wrong. Ashryn and her four vampires are going to take them down or die trying. Her strength in the extreme situation is admirable. I also loved how they were on a serious mission but still managed to have a couple of private moments. Exciting end to a fast-paced unexpected romance. Laura Greenwood writes fantastic fantasy books and I highly recommend checking out this series.
