The Aryan Agenda (Harvey Bennett #6), My sixteenth read from author Nick Thacker. What appeared to be a one-off with Thacker’s writing of The Enigma Strain was soon followed by The Amazon Code, then by The Ice Chasm and then The Jefferson Legacy. The problem with writing a successful book is amplified in a successful series, the reader’s expectations are that this book will be even better than the last, and for the second book in a row, this one is not. When I reviewed earlier Thacker books I commented that his writings were reminiscent of James Rollins. This book isn’t! I’m a character reader, I get into the characters, their story, who/what they are. In this, the sixth Harvey Bennet book, the characters, so well developed after 4 previous works are lacking. They only make a guest appearance in the first third of this book. Not that this isn’t a good book, that you can’t wait to turn the next page and learn more about them, but the story-line seems a little stagnate and it’s not til the last half of the book that it takes off! No spoiler’s here, though I will say that with Thacker’s track record I can’t wait to read his next book and I’m sure it will be back to his established standards! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
So in the first few chapters, there are melting faces and then later there are some Nazis and Ancient Egypt. This one is a crazy ride. There are so many people to hate and it’s nice to know that Ben and the team are up against them. And there are more than Nazis to hate as well. There is action and emotion and bad guys and good guys and international escapades and more to come.
I can’t wait to read the next one and see what happens next.
A Great Addition to The Harvey Bennett Series
The Aryan Agenda fits right in with The Harvey Bennett Series by Nick Thacker. This book is not only about the Nazies but the lost City of Atlantis as well. I enjoyed all the twists and turns that make up this story. You never know what is going to happen next. Just when you think the good guys are dead for sure, they figure out a way to remove themselves from that threat. If you have read any of Nick Thacker’s books and liked them you will love this one. He always does a lot of research, so part of the book is true and the rest is fiction. I love this series and hope the next one is out soon.
Good story. I’ve been reading this series out of order. I will read more. This was kind of a historical fiction book with all the Egyptian pyramids and Nazi stuff. haha
Excellent archeological mystery thriller. The CSO characters are great to know and follow, the dialogue is crisp and realistic, and the plot makes sense. I’m looking forward to the next adventure!
