Want a refreshing feel-good novel that’ll make you examine yourself and life with a fresh perspective? Enzo the dog narrates this one with all the heart and simplicity we all aspire to. You’ll cry, but you’ll love every damn page.
If there was ever a book that made you cry, this is it! If you have ever loved a dog this book was made for you.
The world according to Dog
Any dog lover and most people of empathy would love it. I read it 3 times.
Can’t wait to see the movie! LOVED this! What a surprise!
I couldn’t help but see Jack/Milo Ventimiligia while reading this one! So maybe that was part of the allure? Regardless, I was pulled right into this one! Looooved Enzo’s narration. Loved Denny. A heartbreaking read with a great ending.
Oh my this was such a wonderful book. I am so glad that I got to read it before I hopefully get to see the movie. Enzo is such a wonderful dog. I am sure that dogs all over the world if they could speak would speak of their owners in the same manner as he did. This book was filled with all the emotions you can imagine. Prepare yourself as you read …
I enjoy horror fiction. It is on a rare occasion that I come across a book out of that genre I enjoy. The Art of Racing in the Rain is the best book I have ever read. Great story, and being a non-horror tale, I was blown away with how good this book is. I feel any reader would enjoy this book.
This is by far my favorite book that I’ve read.
I know I’m late to the party on this one, but it was so good!! This is a must read for dog lovers, and the race car aspect was something really new and different for me. I loved this book. You will cry, but it will be worth it.
Had to read the book before seeing the movie. Being about a dog, I kind of knew the dog would die (every dog story, it seems), so I was glad the inevitable was revealed in the first chapter to help set expectations. This book was about so much more. It was about a man’s relationship with his dog, with his wife and daughter, with his career and …
Love this book. Can’t wait for the movie!
One of my favorite books this year
My goodness this dog was hilarious. And thought-provoking. And just wonderful in every way. I listened to this audiobook and I held my own dog tight the whole time. Dogs really do get us, don’t they? Looking forward to the movie next week!
A beautiful book that will make you smile and cry at the some time.
Definitely NOT Marley and me.
I felt distanced from the characters, probably because of the filter of the dogs POV the author put on the whole thing. Not a fan of race cars and that entire sport, a good deal of the metaphors were lost on me. I won’t waste my time or money on the movie.
OTOH, I did stay up past my bed time to finish it.
Although a long 33 chapter read every page is well worth it! This book is phenomenal and captures life lessons from a Canine perspective. Bravo to the author!
A wonderful book that will make you laugh and make you cry especially if you love dogs.
Best book ever
Wow what an amazing book totally told from the dog’s perspective- Enzo is adopted as a puppy by Denny a race car driver. I love the unquiue thoughts and how the story unfolds from Enzo’s POV. His perspective is so funny especially why dogs aren’t ruling the world. I had lots of tears too but now I am even more excited for the moving coming soon.
