Whether you chose to connect the dots or go it alone, Cole makes it easy to fall for the characters she creates. Her common themes of life, love and family make her characters easy to relate to and her romances are a swoonworthy treat. What I love most is that she intermingles emotional with lighthearted to create unforgettable stories such as The Art of Loving Lacy. Dane and Lacy face their fears together as they lose their hearts to romance. Beauty wrapped inside of wisdom is a winning combination that leaves a lasting impression on even the hardest of hearts.
I love the title of this book, The Art of Loving Lacy. If you have read any other books by Ms. Cole you know her hero’s make their love an art form and Dane is no exception. It took me a while to warm up to Lacy but when I did I loved her so much. One of the best things about a Cole book and/or series is getting to catch up with all of the characters from past books that you love so much, it’s like a reunion. I loved the little bit of push/pull in this book with both Dane and Lacy. They both have to decide if their love is strong enough to overcome their fears, but don’t fear this Ms. Cole always gives us the perfect ending. I can’t wait to see these “friends” again!
OK, I know I say this every time I read one of Addison Cole’s novels, but this one has to be my favorite so far.
Why?
It feels different. This a relationship that is just happening. No pining for years about a guy that she didn’t think would give her the time of day. Not that I mind that trope, but I do like something different and we have that with Lacy and Dane. Even Dane’s career is unique for one of Addison’s novels.
These two already have a long distance romance and that in of itself is different. What’s really interesting is the conflict in this book. See Dane is a conservationist when it comes to sharks, and Lacy, well she’s deathly afraid of them.
They have instant chemistry even though they have only had facetime, emails and texts for the last year.
The way the two of them slowly make things work is just fabulous! (I love how Dane got her to see him again….very sneaky) Its was also a bit nail biting because the one last source of conflict between the two of them at the end is absolutely heartbreaking.
I adore this series and any book by Addison Cole
Addison Cole’s Sweet with Heat series is so amazing. Lacy and Dane’s story is the perfect addition to the series. They are not the perfect couple but they are perfect for each other. They love, respect, and trust each other but they have to work to get there. It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t quick but it was exactly right for Lacy and Dane.
Dane is the type of man that Lacy needs. He protects her, he loves her but he doesn’t let her fears get in the way of her living her best life. He goes way beyond the norm to win Lacy’s heart and trust. His job is what stands between them and he doesn’t force her to accept it, he takes it slow and steady to show her what he does, how he stays safe, and lets her figure out the best way for her to handle it. I love how gentle and understanding Dane was of Lacy’s fear.
This is the perfect addition to the Sweet with Heat series and I can’t wait for more.
Shark tagger an owner of the BRAVE foundation Dane Braden and Lacey Snow have been calling and texting each other for the better part of a year but never really meeting due to Dane always being at sea. Finally at Max & Treat’s wedding they meet, and the sparks are electrifying from across the room.
They make the perfect couple, but Lacy is scared of the one thing that Dane works with – Sharks! Following a shark attack that happened to her when she was seven years old Lacy has been afraid of them ever since and feels that is a huge reason not to date Dane. Dane does everything he can to show her that he loves her no matter what, but being that tagging sharks is his living how can he help Lacy overcome her fear of them? With the help of Danica, Dean comes up with a way to help her face her fears head on.
Can Dane and Lacy make it work or will her fear ruin her chance at love? Well this is an Cole/Foster book so if you are long time reader you will be sure of the answer already! If not then definitely read it!
This is is book 4 in the Sweet with Heat series and based on the steamy version Sea of Love. I haven’t read Sea of Love but certainly this one has just the right amount of heat that either version will be just as good as each other to read, and it is easy read as a stand alone book as you get enough of any other additional character back stories to not feel lost.
Another fantastic sweet with heat read from this author! Well written I fell in love with this story immediately, with Lacy, with Dane, with the whole storyline! A feel good romance that tugs on your heart strings, plays with your emotions and will just captivate you from the Start!
Addison Cole writes wonderful books that her readers enjoy so much.
This book has humor, life changes, and romance.
The plot is amazing and well written.
The characters are charming and so likable.
Another winner for Ms. Cole.
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Lacy Snow has come to celebrate with the Braden’s. Dane Braden is ready to go after what he wants. If you follow the Braden family then you’ll love catching up with everyone here. This latest family saga is a great way to keep you interested because in a way you get to participate.
I felt that I was being let into the group by getting caught up in all the gossip. What better place to catch up than at a wedding? What better way to get some juicy tidbits? It’s a way to give one couple a happy ending while giving two people their start at a relationship. With any new relationship there’s nervousness, a little apprehension but a lot of lovin’.
This story shows the reader that you can have moments that are romantic and intimate but not get too descriptive. It leaves it up to your imagination to fill in the blanks. And that’s what’s great about this author and her series. You get to feel a part of a great group of people while their stories don’t get bogged down with something that can make some readers uncomfortable.
When you attend a wedding don’t you sometimes see a couple that you wonder what their story is? Dane and Lacy could be that couple. Lacy has an issue in her past that has come to the forefront in her present. We see concern but in a loving way. This is one way that makes the story seem so realistic – we all have fears. Our author shows that even men can be nervous and not have their act together when it comes to relationships. At least Dane has someone to help him figure it out. I didn’t see an official ending to their story so I’m hoping that means that we’ll catch up with them in future books. But I did get to see the next Braden to get their story told – looking forward to it.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
It took me a bit to get into this story, but once I did it was hard to put down I really liked Lacy and Dane. They had a long distance relationship going on when they finally see each other in person the spark is just has hit between. Their biggest obstacle is Dane’s job. There is a lot of emotion between the characters, but towards the end boy does this book hit me in the heart. It’s a good installment to the series. I can’t wait for the next sibling to meet their match.
This was such a sweet story between Lacy Snow and Dane Braden. They showed that while love isn’t always easy, it is always worth it. Lacy had an encounter with a shark at a very young age and has been deathly afraid of them ever since. So what do you do when you fall in love with someone who’s founded an organization to save sharks? As Lacy finds out, trying to hide it is definitely not the answer.
As the founder of the Brave Foundation, Dane Braden has spent years educating the public on sharks. He also spends a lot of his time on the water tagging sharks. When he meets Lacy at a double family wedding in Nassau a year earlier, he immediately falls for Lacy. There is just something special about her. After the wedding, Dane and Lacy keep in contact, talking almost daily. When they finally see each other again at another family wedding, they realize that the spark is definitely still there. As Lacy and Dane spend more time together, they realize that there are a lot of things they need to figure out. Is Lacy’s fear of sharks something she can overcome? If she can’t, can Dane give up something that means everything to him?
If you’re looking for a sweet, romantic, feel good story, this ones for you. You’ll fall in love with all the characters!
3.5 stars.
Well, this was lovely.
This time we see Lacey and Dane, they’ve had a long distance relationship for like a year, and finally meet up at a wedding. From there, they are open to see what a real relationship would be like.
Anyway, these guys sure had their ups and downs, especially when there was a big block in their way: she’s afraid of sharks and he works with them for a living.
The book starts with them already in a relationship with each other, so there’s no courtship; but there’s relationship building with all its good and bad. So that was fun to read.
This was an all in all sweet read, much like the rest of this series.
*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*
Dane may be my favorite of all the Braden men. He’s sweet, sexy and thoughtful. Lacy is a smart, sensual woman. Together they have such a sweet story that you will love from page one!
sweet, clean with a little more . . .
I have not yet encountered a read that I did not enjoy or was just mediocre from Addison Cole. I love that there are two sides to every romance and you get more with each page you turn. The sweet with heat allows you to enjoy a level of romance that does not entangled the graphic/erotic play. Discovering Lacy and Dane again after missing them from the Snow Sister’s series was wonderful for me. I felt something between them when I first met them and then there was Dane and the little something extra that he carries. Getting back around to these two again was much wanted. Their time and romance grew with distance, text, phobia, fears, past and then . . . If you love romance with a little more and then others you could pick up and read with or around, then I suggest picking up The Art of Loving Lacy and the whole Weston Bradens series. There were many things with in the pages that will hold you there and have you wanting more from the other friends and family that you meet along the read. It also a great way to get little glimpses in to other lives of other loved characters.
My favourite group are back.. Dane is a shark lover Lacy is not. We get told about these two and their romance in the softest way. How Dane would do anything for the chance to spend time with Lacy who’s fear is Sharks. Of course there s a lot more to Dane than just loving sharks , we see a side of him he doesn’t let out very much and of course we catch up the rest of the gang at a wedding!.
The Art of Loving Lacy is a sweet, heart warming romance. Lacy and Dane had a lot of chemistry, but their timing has not worked out. Finally they are reunited. But Lacy, having been bitten by a shark, has a fear of them. Dane spends his life tagging sharks – one way of dealing with his relationship fears. As they spend time together, this couple has to work at overcoming their fears and finding their happy ending. This book is another engaging tale from Addison Cole. I just have to set aside time when she releases a new book because I can never put them down.
Reading this book was like visiting old friends. So many friends and family from so many Addison Cole books.
Like all of the books that Ms Cole writes, the story of Lacy and Dane was written with so much heart and soul. These two characters have such a deep, mad attraction for each other , but don’t trust anyone else or themselves enough to commit, truly and deeply, to jump off the cliff and know that the other will be there to catch them.
The fears felt by Lacy are real and the readers can see pieces of themselves in her. The journey that Lacy and Dane go through is a real life, hard battled, soul searching experience, and the fight to climb back to the top and trust themselves and each other is hard won. I really enjoyed reading more about these two and look forward to the next Braden book, to see where they and others are in the future.
The Art of Loving Lacy is book four in the Sweet with Heat: Weston Bradens series. I loved Dane and Lacy’s story. It kept me hooked from beginning to end. I definitely recommend it.
This is so sweet and romantic! One of the sweetest and most personal parts is that Dane and Lacy communicated by phone and skyping for more than a year, sharing everything with each other. Then, they meet for the second time …. Dane’s life is tagging and protecting sharks. Lacy is terrified of sharks, after having been bitten by one as a child. What develops from that is a story of true love that is sweet, with just the right amount of heat, all written into a book that I could not put down. I highly recommend this book.
The Art of Loving Lacy is the 4th in the Weston Braden series but could easily be read as a standalone if needed. It’s the story of Dane and Lacy and if you have read any of the previous stories, you will be somewhat familiar with these two as they originally met a little over a year ago at Dane’s brothers wedding. Over the past year, Lacy and Dane have kept in touch and gotten closer through test messages, phone calls, face time phone calls, etc. They now have a chance to see each other and spend time together at another family member’s wedding and the sparks are still flying when they finally get that chance.
Dane is the founder of the BRAVE foundation and a shark tagger that travels the world and Lacy works for a company that markets non-profits and is working very hard for a promotion (these are their main “reasons” for not seeing each other in person over the past year). As they are able to finally spend this weekend together, it is clear that they both have strong feelings for each other but also their own issues to deal with if a relationship between the two of them will work. Lacy had a very bad experience with a shark as a child and carries quite a deep-seated fear of them and it’s Dane’s love and livelihood. Not to mention his constant travel and her demanding job responsibilities.
It’s a great love story as they both work through not only their prior relationship issues but all the roadblocks that seem to keep coming at them as they tip-toe through trying to get their relationship to be successful. I fell in love with Dane and how patient and kind he was with Lacy as he did all that he could to help her try to overcome her paralyzing fear of sharks. And the love that was clear between Dane and his family, Lacy and her sisters as well as Dane’s family for Lacy and vice versa. You will not be disappointed in this book. It’s a great read with a few unexpected twists and turns and once you start reading, you will not want to put it down!
Lacy and Dane have spent a year apart but talking or video chatting and getting to know each other. They’ve both looked forward to seeing each other again at Dane’s brother’s wedding. They get to spend some time together but realize that their relationship has some problems, Dane’s job and Lacy’s fear of his job. Dane comes up with a way for them to try to overcome the issues between them and all is going well until there’s an accident that brings all those fears to the front again. I love the characters in this series, the Braden family is amazing. They are close, accepting and so incredibly supportive of each other and those that become family. Ms. Cole has another winner with this book! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review
