Six months ago, I was naïve, stupid, and whiney.I believed in second chances.Even when I was boyfriend-less, apartment less, and my best friend was on me about moving on.Five months ago, one insignificant moment changed everything. I met Logan.I agreed to undergo his ridiculous boot camp to get Cole back.Last month, a blip in time knocked my world on its axis.It threw me into free fall without … axis.
It threw me into free fall without the courtesy of a warning or a safety net.
Yesterday, I ruined everything.
One action that broke two hearts.
I used to believe in second chances.
My name is Devina Marshal; this is the story of how everything went to shit.

Ellie Messe did it again. Another 5 star read.
Ellie just had a way of bringing these two characters together perfectly. This book had just the right amount of moments that will make you laugh, and moments that will make you swoon. And yes I said swoon. I just fell in love with these characters, so much so I was not able to put this book down. So one late night of reading done, I now have another book added to my re-read list.
Logan Devitt and Devina Anderson. Holy He** these two were just perfect characters. I was so sucked in by the way that Logan was offering to help Devina win her ex back, because I just knew that he had something going on behind the curtain. Especially since he would never say the ex’s name right. I just knew he was doing that to make her open her eyes and see the a-hole for what he really was. I loved how there was this internal tug of war battle going on in Devina’s head when she was starting to realize that there was something there between her and Logan. This internal battle was something that made her character so relatable. And it also played apart in her finding the confidence and strength inside herself. Logan just had a way of making Devina start to build herself back up to the woman that he knew she really was
I did not want to put this book to end. It was that good. I can’t wait for Ellie Messes next release so I can get all her words and feels again.
What a fantastic story. These characters are definitely some of my favorites this year. Logan is so brutally honest but finds a way to say things without completely breaking you down. Devina is the girl next door that needs a self esteem boost and is able to find it with both Logan and her best friend Emily. The comedy these three can give us as well as the other emotions is great. We have a perfect pair with both the narration and writing with this book! Absolutely fantastic!
This was my first Ellie Messe’s book and won’t be the last! I love this beautifully written slow burn story! The storyline is fun, and captivating. Devina and Logan are great characters. Logan is perfect! Devina is a beautiful character. I love Amy, Devina’s best friend, and I would love to have her story. Sarah Puckett did an outstanding and amazing narration. I love her male voice! All characters were easy to distinguish. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook and I totally recommend it!

The Art of Dating
By: Ellie Messe
Narrated by: Sarah Puckett
I loved this book it is fun, well written and well told. The story captivated me from start to end. Ellie Messe is a new author to me and I am now a fan, she has a wonderful way with words. She creates interesting storylines, characters and the dialogue between those characters is amazing. The lead character, Devina, is heartbroken after catching her boyfriend, Cole, with another woman. She leaves him and moves in with best friend Amy, with hopes that Cole will come begging for her forgiveness and to come back home. Amy is full of personality, she likes to party and drags Devina out with her every chance. One night she takes her to a speed dating event where she meets Logan and despite the chemistry between them she does not want to give him the time of day. So Logan comes up with a plan, he will help her win back Cole and if it does not work she has to go out on a date with him. I adored Logan, his patience, his serious humor and his dedication to get what he wants. Loved the banter between them, how he never got Cole’s name right and how Devina corrects him everytime, hysterical. The most impressive thing is how he saw Devina, her relationship with Cole and how he went about building back up. Well done Ellie Messe, very well done! This is such a great story, I highly recommend it to all!
I listened to the Audible edition, Sarah Puckett is a talented and versatile voice performer. She performs the voices for all the characters, she brings them to life giving each their own distinct sound and personality. Her ability to switch characters in back and forth dialogue is amazing, she does it flawlessly and keeps the story in a perfect flow. Sarah Puckett has become one of my favorite narrators, I love that she puts so much into the story and how her performance enhances it elevating it to another level. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen
The Art of Dating

Ellie Messe! Where have you been? This is the first book I have had the pleasure of experiencing and it is a wonderful listen! Devina is reeling off of her cheating boyfriend of 5 years. She is heartbroken and even willing to forgive and take him back. She goes to speed dating with her best friend and meets Logan. Logan is a wealthy businessman and is taken with Devina. He can see her for who she is, and when they meet again, he devises a plan to win her heart. FIrst, let me say that the characters in this book are so well written that they feel familiar. Devina is a struggling woman, but with good guidance is finding herself. Logan though at times harsh with his comments is nothing short of wonderful. Logan helps edge Devina back to the living and win back Cole’s love, but is this what Devina truly wants? Laced with humor, warmth, good intentions and a incredibly slow burn, this book flowed smoothly into my heart. You will smile a lot, even laugh out loud, yell with frustration and love with your whole heart.
Sarah Puckett always has a way with her narrations that suck you in and make you want to stay. This book has some intense feelings as well as humorous lines. Puckett delivers with touching emotion as Devina finds herself with the help of Logan. Her comedic timing creates laugh out loud moments. It’s a listen that leaves you wanting more of them.

Wow! Just wow! Ellie Messe has done it again. She is amazingly talented. I love her “voice” she cracks me up. You’ll fall in love with her characters and their journey. You’ll want to have a best friend Amy and a boyfriend/best friend like Logan. I loved this story, it was beautiful and expertly executed. Ellie likes to give me mini heart attacks at the end of her books because I’m convinced there won’t be enough book to cover what needs to be done. But she does it flawlessly! I find some endings fall flat and leave a lot to be desired or the HEA is too cheesy. Ellie’s endings are done to perfection, not only in The Art of Dating but also in Broken. I love her writing and can’t wait to for her new book Famished next month.
Love this book. The leading lady was so relatable that i could picture myself as her. Another home run by this author
A cute post book hangover read
This book was a pretty sweet read. If you’re struggling getting over a major book and have the worlds greatest book hangover, this is the book to read.
I had so many laughs with this book, something I’m starting to notice about Ellie Messe’s writing. Whether it’s dark or light, she’s gonna make sure to have you in stitches by the end of the book.
I loved Devina. She was a pretty cool MC but there were quite a few time I wished I could just go into the pages and slap the crap out of her, lol. I got so frustrated with her and her feeling for Cole. I mean, come on!!!! Never make excuses for a man.
I loved Logan. He was so funny. How often he would pick on Devina had me laughing way too hard.
On to the next book!
I was absoultely sucked into reading this book. I didn’t believe that he would just want to teach her the “art of dating” and felt right from the start that there was some type of spark between them. Even though she didnt necessarily see it right away or want to believe it, I knew that he did. Cole wasn’t worth here time, and I felt bad that it too. I love how Logan helps Devina to see who she truly is and how they end up falling for each other! I highly recommend reading this book, you won’t be disappointed and will be happy you read it!
OMG, she only went and did it again!! This book is absolutely amazing, the kind of book you want everyone to read, but you don’t want to tell them a thing about it because it really IS that good!!!
Devina is newly single and heartbroken after catching her boyfriend cheating. She meets Logan one night when here friend drags her to a bar. Together they cook up a scheme to win back her ex with Logans help, but are things really what they seem? It follows Devinas journey of rediscovering herself and moving on and you simply can’t put this book down. Oh and theres plenty of hysterical moments that had me crying with laughter. Amy’s one-liners are priceless too, this girl should get her own book! (hint hint).
This book is absolutely brilliant and I loved every bit of it. This deserves so many more than the five stars I have to give!!!
This book is literally laugh out loud funny!
