There are a number of characters from previous books but this is nevertheless a standalone, and comes to as much of a happy ending as a guy like Gage can give. I received a copy of this book for free as a gift, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Melissa works for her brother but isn’t really in the limelight until her life is threatened then Gage steps in to keep her safe but keeps his feelings for Melissa on the down low…Suspense, sexy times, adventure, action, danger to name a few of the things happening in this book and the build up of Melissa and Gage from the previous books keeps you turning the pages til the end…

The $ex scenes are limited, intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text but saying that I didn’t feel the connection between our leading couple. Although on the job, Gage’s back and forth, up and down attitude leaves something to be desired.
THE ARROGANT THIEF is an energetic and suspenseful story line with spirited characters and an encouraging romance. Mallory Crowe’s STOLEN HEARTS series is a must read for fans of romance suspense.

An intense story both in adventure and romance. I don’t want to give too much detail because it would ruin it for future readers. But I can say that Gage and Melissa find themselves in an unusually dangerous situation that I didn’t see coming. It was a great surprise that I enjoyed.
Gage had some serious talents that for a while he couldn’t go too far with. He’s not used to that and he’s not liking it either. Melissa is more of a behind the scenes, newer to the group person. She doesn’t feel like she has much to offer when it comes to skill and outwitting the “bad guys”. Add to that the fact that they both off the charts wanting each other and have for quite some time. Part of the story is their fighting what they feel.
I have read several of the books in this series so I am familiar with some of the team members that show up. Hart, Slade, Tori are just a few of the people who show up. But if you have never read any of these books, you won’t get lost. It could easily be read on it’s own.
Action, danger, romance, denials, teamwork, the bad guy getting it in the end? All good words to begin to describe what’s going on. You know pretty early on who the bad guy is. But the satisfaction is in seeing how Gage and Melissa get free.

A Exciting End To This Series!! A Decent & Steamy 3.5 Stars
Melissa & Gage have had a strong attraction to one another throughout this entire series. Gage has never acted on it & Melissa makes plenty of assumptions as to why. She is really shocked then embarrassed by his reason after she finally hears it!! Her reaction then sets off unforseen & terrible consequences
The storyline of this book made it an exciting, decent & Steamy read.
I couldn’t rate it higher, unfortunately, because of two things. 1. Something occurs in NYC that I didn’t like. It’s a personal preference about things I don’t like in my romances. The ‘thing’ didn’t actually happen but one of the characters doesn’t know that!! So it’s likely most people won’t care, I did. 2. It ended so abruptly I really think this book, especially, needed an Epilogue!!
Again, these are only my opinions, but it’s my review so …..
There is plenty of danger for both Gage & Melissa. One of them is under constant mortal threat and they’re, largely, cut off from their teammates. They don’t have access to the normal tech they’re used to plus Melissa ISN’T an operative, she’s the Office Manager, she’s not trained for this! They’re going to need to trust one another to try and make it through this in one piece!!!
This is a fast paced, thriller of a book. I recommend this book, I’d suggest starting the series with The Cocky Thief book 1. I’d say this could definitely be read as a standalone, it’s just more satisfying & enjoyable reading the series in order Have fun

Gage and Melissa finally manage to get a romance with each other – this has been a long time coming! Don’t worry if you haven’t read the other books as it can be read as a standalone, though you will probably enjoy it more if you know some of the background to the group. Basically most of them are former thieves, thugs and criminals who now work together to right wrongs. In this story Gage is blackmailed into a series of jobs in order to protect Melissa’s life. Previously Melissa has only worked behind the scenes but Gage needs her as a distraction when getting into various buildings, plus their blackmailer has them living together, which ramps up the tension and heat.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
