This is a spooky good story for Halloween reading or any time of year. A lovely widow in Victorian England with a gift for healing meets a celebrated American surgeon. Ava and Douglas may be fated to be together, but the spirit of a long-dead witch hunter may have something to say about that. Ava has tried to avoid anything that might draw attention to her unusual gifts and her family history, but the powerful attraction between herself and Douglas may unleash powers she never knew existed, or it may lead to their destruction.
I enjoyed the historical detail in the story and the suspense that built as the hero and heroine spent more time together and learned of their connection. The romance was also an emotional and satisfying part to the story.
Prepare to be enchanted and enter a world of magic and spirits that will keep you riveted to the pages until the end. Ava Southerly has visions of future events and it terrifies her. Her only ally that knows her secret is the owner of the apothecary shop where she aids in the making of tinctures and various healing potions. The worst part is she knows she is descended from witches and sometimes her visions shows harm to the people she cares about! How to stop it?
In an unexpected turn she meets Douglas Wallace, an American doctor, who is the descendant of a witch hunter, over 300 yrs old that is out to kill Ava. Yes, I was totally on board when these two met because it was truly destiny and they were tied together from the past!
I loved both of these characters and Sandra Sookoo, in her amazing way, brought these two to life and made the events that happen seem real. As the two worked together to thwart the spirit, they are pulled together in a mutual attraction. But are they strong enough together to stop Ava’s death?
Although this is part of a series, it is a standalone story that you will not be able to put down!!
She is a witch and has the second sight but she must hide as she would be in danger. He has been taught that witches are bad news and needs to be destroyed. What will happen if he learns everything is not what he had been taught. Life is about to change for them both. See how and where it all will go

Past and present collide in this paranormal romance. Ava is a descendant of witches, while Douglas is a descendant of witch hunters. A chance (?) meeting leaves them engrossed in each other. Their romance is lightning fast, but their pasts threaten their happy ending. The spirit of Douglas’s ancestor emerges and tries to use him as a means to finish his unfinished business, namely to kill the descendand of the witch he was after 300 years ago.
A wonderful paranormal story, that kept me turning the pages! Well written, fast paced and with a few twists that will blow your mind!

Book six in the Enduring Legacy series is well-written a story I enjoyed reading. Mrs. Ava Southerly, apothecary assistant and widow is also a witch she meets Douglas Wallace, an American doctor, and a descendant of a Scottish witch hunter. These books are just getting better with each new one. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The cover is super it so reminds me of a classic fantasy or fairytale. This fantasy was so good with Ava who has visions and Douglas a descendant of a witch hunter. Yes, Douglas does want to kill her but don’t hold it against him because, in the end, he turns out to be a good guy. I did not realize this is a part of series when I first started reading, but now I so want to read all the books. If you like magic and paranormal books this is the story for you. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
If you are looking for a great chilling romance to get into the Halloween spirit then this is it. Fate brought them together to create a powerful force to stop something of pure evil. I couldn’t put it down from the start with her vision and had no clue how it would play out. A glance through a window was all it took to spark the romance between them. The spirit will send chills through you especially when he reveals his true reasons. Sparks really fly between them and help them stop it for good.
Ava has tried to bury her power and heart for years since it’s caused such pain. She didn’t know how powerful she could be until she found love. I loved seeing her get stronger and embrace her power.
Douglas doesn’t from run from anything and won’t let her hide any longer. I loved how he understood her and didn’t think her crazy. He fought hard to stop the spirit and help her find love.
I enjoyed this tale with elements of the supernatural that bring Ava and Douglas together. Their connection was strong and pushed both to move beyond their fears or expectations. Ava was so afraid of her ability but finally embraced it, which helped bring her to a new understanding and her HEA. Douglas was so gallant and protective of Ava, and he was even willing to leave her for her own safety. I loved how everything came together at the end. I recommend this story.
This was an audiobook, and Beauxregard Neylon did a wonderful job bringing these characters to life. His change in voice for each character kept them separate in my mind and brought the emotions out.
I received a copy of this story as a gift through Historical Romance Audiobook, and this is my unsolicited review.
A good historical story with a paranormal twist, it is compelling and well written. Intriguing resourceful characters. It has been a pleasure to read this book.
I liked this book. The characters and suspense in this book meet me riveted to my seat until the end of the book and it was awesome.
