Lovely story, angel characters! Must read all the books in serial order. Worth turning each page.
An amazing begining to this series, we are able to follow each characters journey as they enter the Angle Family.
I have enjoyed reading this series. It is informative and tells you how things were done in the UK hospitals during the war years and after . Not gory or suspenseful but just good stories about regular people.
I really liked this book, it held my interest the entire time. It provided a good look at English society.
Loved it
Great read!
This whole series is so good- wonderful stories and characters- definitely recommend.
Wonderful book I really enjoyed it
Enjoyed a medical novel in this time period.
Excellent read!! I highly recommend it.
I am a retired R.N. graduating in 1960 and found the book a trip in remember my student days.
A nice warm story with an interesting historical setting. Believable characters.
What a great story! We don’t often think about the genesis of female nurses, and the rigors of their lives. The characters were varied, interesting, and I’m sure I’ve known all those types over the years. I was moved, entertained, and then had to get the next in the series right away. Loved this book.
I really enjoy this author. The book was great.
This is one of the best books I have read lately. The characters are likeable and I found myself pulling for these young nursing students. The book is also informative about medical knowledge and treatment in the mid 1900’s. Interwoven in the plot of the nurses’ training are the stories of the nurses’ backgrounds, struggles, and goals. All in all, a very good read.
I first read the Angels of Lovely Street, then the Children of Lovely Street and now I am on the Women of Lovely Street. Right after WW11, 5 girls from all different backgrounds came to be nurses in training in England, it starts off telling of where they are from and how they came to be picked to become the Angels, their backgrounds, some are tragic, one is from an old family that has lost all their money they all have different stories. The training to become nurses was not an easy life. The training is grueling and each girl deals with it in a different way. Their is heart break and it is a page turner for sure. This is One of the best series of books I have read, I hated for each book to end.
Interesting look at medical care in the early 1950’s England with the after effects of WWII.
Gives a look into the past that is fascinating. Really enjoyed this book. Looking forward to the next book
I would be glad to read this whole series. Great book!
