Tessa D’Azzo built her reputation as an FBI analyst by missing nothing—not a date, a fact, a connection, not even a passing glance. But now her talents are blinded by grief. Can the one detective who doesn’t trust Tessa’s skill clear his mind—and heart—in time to save their lives?Fans of Blue Bloods won’t want to miss this chapter of the D’Azzo family. FBI analyst Tessa D’Azzo has been tasked … has been tasked with a tough job even for her unusual skills: tear decorated police officer Oliver Gates’s life apart to find out why he went on a killing rampage before the Beltway sniper put a bullet through his heart. Anyone else would have missed the one link Tessa uncovers that connects Gates’s death, the sniper, and her own father’s murderer.
But she reports to the one detective whose goal in life is to bury her career. Just let him try to distract her from using her advantage to hunt down this murderer.
Gates’s replacement, Captain Eric Logan, has had his fill of Tessa’s brilliant but erratic mind, her unfounded theories, and the way she haunts his dreams. He owes Joe D’Azzo a great debt, and is determined to find who’s behind his friend’s murder without Tessa’s interference destroying his case.
Yet when grief overwhelms Tessa’s focus, Eric’s closeness is the only thing that centers her. And he can’t squelch the desire to convince her that life is about more than working the case. Maybe this time, she doesn’t have to fight the battle alone.
With the killer close enough to touch and Tessa the target, will love transform them to true partners.

This is the first book I have read from this author, and I am going to read more. There was mystery, suspense, and romance. The characters are well-developed. Tess D’Azzo has a mind like a computer and has to sort through all details, something that others don’t understand. Tess pushes Eric Logan buttons, but he knows she is worth it. Love the story and loved the concept of the story. I highly recommend.
The Analyst Book 2 The D’Azzo Family is my first read into this series. I loved it so much that I went back to read Book 1, which is Witness. While the first book set the stage for this one, each is standalone that does not require you to read each book or read them in any particular order. It does help as there are nuances with the characters and subtleties with the plot you will miss if you do not read the previous books. It is not like you will lose a considerable reveal; there are just more aha moments.
Tessa is the D’Azzo that some consider a bit strange because of her unique ability to “store” and recall data. She is an FBI agent who is trying to solve her father’s murder. The storyline is full of much suspense and mystery in this story. Thrills, action, adventure, tragedy, romance, and a great cliffhanger at the end also kept me engaged. The Analyst is one of those books you do not want to put down until you read the last page. Unfortunately, I had to put it down to go to work! All of the characters are endearing, and you want them safe. You want them to get their happily ever after. For that to happen the D’Azzo clan must stop a powerful killer. Hopefully, we will see that happen in Book 3, Protector. I can hardly wait for its release!

More intrigue into the murder of Joe D’Azzo. Here we get to see Tessa’s amazing eidetic memory and the workings of her genius brain. Tessa and Eric have a strained working relationship from a previous case. This story is his chance to actually get an understanding of how she processes information and he realises that he has misunderstood her in the past.
The twist at the end of the story as to who the sniper was is definitely a shock but also makes sense.
As with the first book there are some errors with tenses in the sentence and I noted that a person of interest was TJ in book one became JT in book 2.
With Tessa, an eidetic memory is a real and haunting thing. Data overload and disappointment in not seeing some connections frustrate and disappoint her, because some mistakes cost lives.
Trying to tie up loose ends looking for the man behind the death of her father, Tessa makes some powerful and crazy enemies. And she finally falls closer to completely in love with the one man she might have a real shot with.
Action packed suspense and mayhem and adventure!

This is the first book in the series I’ve read and now I want to read the previous book. Action, adventure, add in some romance and you have a book you won’t be able to put down. Twists and turns that will keep you turning page after page. No spoilers here, just the advice to grab your copy and start reading.

Fabulous thriller romance! I loved The Analyst! It has a fascinating, reasonable murder mystery, lots of action as well as heart-thumping suspense, and a crazy, sweet romance. The characters are fully realized and vivid with finely honed dialogue. Start reading early because you won’t be able to put it down!

Tessa’s unique memory and her drive to solve almost impossible cases is at the center of this story. She doesn’t miss a detail, but sometimes can’t put everything together in the right order to solve the mystery fast enough to satisfy herself and others. She’s working on a difficult case and at the same time feels a strong romantic/sexual urge toward someone else working on the case. A good story, I enjoyed it. I received an advanced reader copy of this book but my review is voluntary.
She has special skills and she is given a tough case but it will soon become connected to her father murder. He is not happy with how she works but is it really something he feels which is clouding his judgement. What will she find out? Can they work together? See how they both get on
