An Amish midwife and an Englisch doctor must embrace their differences to rescue a baby in need in this uplifting romance that will “warm your heart” (Marta Perry). Kyle Miller never planned on becoming a country doctor. But when he’s offered a medical practice in his sleepy hometown, Kyle knows he must return… and face the painful past he left behind. Except the Amish community isn’t quite … the Amish community isn’t quite ready for Kyle. Especially the pretty midwife who refuses to compromise her traditions with his modern medicine…
The more Leah Stoltzfus works with the handsome Englisch doctor, the more she finds herself caught between the expectations of her family and her own hopes for the future. It will take one surprising revelation and one helpless baby in need of love to show Leah and Kyle that their bond may be greater than their differences… if Leah can find the courage to follow her heart.

The Amish Midwife’s Secret ( Love and Promises #2 )
By: Rachel J. Good
The Amish Midwife’s Secret is book two by Rachel J. Good in Love and Promises Series. This is part of a series , but you can read it as a stand a lone without any problems. Wow, this is the second book that I have read by Ms. Good and I am very impressed with her writing. I was hooked right from the start and did not want to put it down. I Love the characters both Leah and Kyle. Leah is a midwife and loves what she does. Dr. Kyle comes back to his home town after getting an offer that is strange. Both Leah and Kyle have some secrets from the past. Can these two work together with their beliefs so different? There is attraction , but one is Amish and the other is English. I really loved this good clean romance with some mystery added. I am looking forward to reading book three “ The Amish Widow’s Rescue”.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley and the Publisher, But was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Rachel Good is a gifted writer of Amish fiction, and in this book she’s given us an absorbing story of love, forgiveness, and sacrifice. Leah and Kyle both have secrets and regrets from their past. Kyle is faced with a huge decision about his future. Leah is struggling with giving up a career she loves and giving it up to become the traditional Amish wife to meet the expectations of her intended. Both Kyle and Leah are confronted with separate challenges that they never expected. Their two lifestyles, Amish and English, seem impossible to reconcile. As they face an uncertain future, they find that their faith is the key to untangling circumstances that seem impossible.
This is a clean, sweet story with no foul language or embarrassing scenes. I enjoyed reading Kyle and Leah’s story, and I’ll be looking forward to more books from this author.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Sweet story filled with forgiveness, love, faith and more. Learning to trust self and others can be troublesome, when expectations are given by family and community. However, in this heartwarming story, there is the possibility of forever love. I received a copy of this book from the author. This is my personal honest opinion. No review was required.
