What happens when a traditional horse whisperer clashes with an unconventional trainer within the charming Amish community of Honey Brook?Grace Zook has always held a talent with horses, ever since she was a child growing up in her quaint Amish village of Honey Brook. Now, as an adult, she’s become a master trainer—but still struggles to prove to her father that she is worthy of taking over the … taking over the family’s horse farm. With a fiery new stallion coming soon, Grace knows this challenge is her chance to prove she can finally take the reins.
When widower and horse whisperer Isaac King is offered the lead training job on a new farm out of town, he’s thrilled to finally make a name for himself and provide some permanent roots for his young daughter. But not only is the stallion seemingly unbreakable, so, too, is the owner’s headstrong daughter Grace, who has drastically different ideas about how to handle the impossible horse. Yet somehow, he can’t seem to get the confident, beautiful woman out of his mind…even though as his boss’s daughter, she is completely off-limits.
There’s too much at stake for Isaac to gamble his future on Grace…even though suddenly, he can’t imagine one without her.
Each book in the Honey Brook series is STANDALONE:

This was a very enjoyable story, with a refreshing cast of characters. I really liked Grace and Isaac and the way they started off a bit at odds with each other since they were both wanting the lead role in training a difficult horse.
The growing friendship and romance between Isaac and Grace was very natural. It was built on respect that grew between them as they worked together. It was great to see how they were naturally drawn to each other as time passed. There were eventually some things that began to threaten their potential future together, which they had to work through in order to find love together, but those things would also strengthen their relationship.
The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming is book two in the Honey Brook series but can easily be read as a stand alone novel.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming by Ophelia London was a delightful read with so many feels. All Grace wants is to run her father’s family horse farm. She is good at what she does, but can she prove it to him? Then he hires Isaac as the new horse trainer. All he wants is to put down roots somewhere and raise his daughter. Though they do not see eye-to-eye, they definitely share a connection. But their belief’s in what roles are in their community do not help and yet they cannot avoid what they feel. I found their story sweet and charming.
Happy reading!
Interesting story however, the author used the very few Amish words she knew repeatedly…yet used the English words for brother, and sister as well as many more…..
I foumd much of the book missed the Amish way.
Ophelia London is such a wonderful author. I love how she creates this communities that I want to get to know. The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming is the second book in the Honey Brook series, and it was just as wonderful as the first book! Each book can be read as a stand alone, but they are both wonderful!
In this one, we meet Grace, a horse trainer on her family’s horse farm , and Isaac, a widower coming to Grace’s farm to take the lead trainer position. I loved that Grace has a strong personality, and a bit of a non-traditional female role in an Amish community.
Isaac and Grace’s interactions are wonderful. They have a great chemistry that grows into a lovely relationship. I really liked that these stories bring the community in. We get to meet so many people and really see how they support each other.
Overall, this is a beautiful story with clean romance and Christian tones. If you enjoy Amish fiction, definitely add this to your TBR!
I was provided a gifted copy of this book for free. I am leaving my review voluntarily.
Grace is a hard working woman, she loves working on the family farm with her father. Horses are what she knows and loves, and is hurt and angry when she finds out she won’t be the one to break on the new stallion! Hasn’t she proved herself by now?!
Isaac needs a stable home for his young daughter and when the opportunity arises, he takes it with both hands. What he doesn’t expect is anger and resentment from the boss’s daughter!
But they need to work together, she’s just going to have to back down…..
There is a lot of tension for a while, both Isaac and Grace have things to prove. But as they start to work alongside one another other feelings start to emerge.
Grace is confused, shouldn’t she hate the man that took her job?
And Isaac knows he shouldn’t have those thoughts about the boss’s daughter.
Grace has to contend with a lot of things, one being the old fashioned ideas of women not working outside of the home, of only being a wife and mother!
Isaac is rather old fashioned that way too, so for the two of them to work out their feelings had me smiling.
Isaac’s daughter is so cute and you have to love the way he always thinks of her comfort and safety.
This is the second book in the Honey Brook series.
The author captures both the emotions and the details in this story.
We catch up with previous characters from the other book, but it’s not a requirement to read the first book.
It’s a lovely story, and it was great catching up with the Amish community of Honey Brook.
But if your expecting passion and sexy times, then this book won’t be for you.
The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming by Ophelia London is the 2nd book in The Honey Brook Series. It can be read as a standalone if you have not had a chance to peruse Never An Amish Bride. I like that we get to see how Lucas Brenneman and Esther are doing since the end of Never an Amish Bride. It is great that we get to see Lucas offering guidance to Isaac. I thought The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming was well-written with good characters and a beautiful setting. I like that Grace Zook is a strong female character who is bucking Amish tradition. Grace prefers working with horses that cooking, cleaning, and tending to children. Grace does, though, yearn for a man who will love her for herself (just as she is). Isaac King is a kind man who is a widower with a young daughter. He wants what is best for his child which is admiral. I like his attitude towards animals. Family, friendship, horses, faith, and community is at the center of the story. There is also romance and vandalism. Fires and thefts have been taking place in the community. They have yet to catch the people responsible. I did find the story to be a little long. It could have done with some editing which would have also helped the pacing (slow in some places). I also wish there had been more humor. It would have enhanced this charming Amish tale. I enjoyed reading The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming which is a heartwarming story about a strong-willed Amish woman with a special talent and an Amish man who has a way with horses looking for a permanent home for himself and his daughter.
Book 2 of the Honey Brook series features Grace. She has always been good at training horses and she grew up with her father teaching her. Now that she’s grown, she wants to inherit her father’s horse farm but Amish women aren’t normally business owners. Her father hires Isaac, an Amish man from a nearby town to train a seemingly unable to be broken stallion. Grace wants to do it on her own and is very resentful of Isaac when her father makes them a team to train the new horse. As they work together, they become interested in each other…will they be able to overcome their differences and allow themselves to fall in love?
Grace was another strong woman in the Amish town that normally sees women as wives and mothers. She is strong in her beliefs but feels that she has the God-given talent to train horses and wants the opportunity to continue. Will Isaac accept having a strong woman or will he stick to the old fashioned ideas?
The author gives us a young Amish woman, one who is bucking tradition, and has dedicated her life to training horses on her Dad’s horse farm. Then her father goes and hires another trainer to take care of their new patient, instant dislike, but living their faith they tolerate one another.
When we watch these talented and gifted people work patiently with this really wild horse, magic happens in more than one way, they begin to have mutual respect for one another, and maybe more.
Now this is the second book in this series, and I enjoyed being reunited with some of the previous characters and continuing on with their lives, but this can be read alone.
Will Grace and Isaac be able to overcome their differences and forge a relationship? There are answers here, and I loved how we get to the ending, and see what happens in all the lives that we follow here!
I received this book through Net Galley and Entangled Publishing, and was not required to give a positive review.
