A thrilling read for fans who love the work of authors like James Rollins and Andy McDermott!
Great story and characters. From Alaska to an innocent research center in Brazil to deep in the Amazon jungle, there is enough adventure here for anyone! Many thrilling plot twists with some neurological as well as mystical turns. I’m looking forward to the next Harvey Bennett novel!
This is the 2nd book in a series by Nick Thacker. It was a good book, but definitely not a great book. It was a fun, quick read and full of action. Unfortunately, I felt like I was reading a movie script. In fact, with about an hour of editing time, it could be a film script. Alas, no $$ were spent on obtaining the book and very little time was involved in reading the book.
Have not finished reading but like the fact that it is different & I want to keep on reading it
This story has great characters. I would prefer fewer deaths without the gory details. This is the second story I have read about a golden man this year. Think I will avoid Amazon jungles, too scary.
A good read. Keeps you interested.
I finished reading this book less than 20% in. There were already so many inconsistencies in the story and obvious mistakes that the characters were making that I gave up. It was just plain stupid. I read the first book, which was OK, but this one never should have been published.
The Amazon Code – a review by Rosemary Kenny
The drama continues from book 1, in Nick Thacker’s second Harvey Bennett Thrillers series, The Amazon Code, as Harvey aka Ben Bennett and the newly-formed (covert US Government-commissioned) CSO Team he now leads are still in pursuit of the mysterious organisation who engineered the release of the deadly, so-called Enigma Strain.
This time, as the title reveals, they’re involved in a nefarious plot by their enemy, involving a (literal) dream machine and the generic dreams that reveal the whereabouts of an ancient artefact, that they must do all they can to prevent its falling into the wrong hands.
Rather generic tropes of jungle warfare and the quest to find the list city of gold, El Dorado, were the only reason for making this a 4 instead of 5 star review, but it’s still a great escape from your Covid-19 fears and Lockdown Blues, for sure!

Interesting book
Interesting premise with lots of action, guns, bullets and bad guys.
This book kept my interest and I wanted to keep reading to see what was going to happen next. I liked the ending.
It is definitely an entertaining story, but not quiet believable. Great idea of a different concept of El Dorado and to the lost city of El Dorado. Great idea to use dreams as the premise for their research. Lots of twists and turns but when the chase was on, too many clueless characters involved that didn’t make connections (sorry, can’t give away too much).
Enjoyed that I was able to jump into book 2 without reading book 1 and follow all the action. The story moves fast and is well cohesive. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Great book.
Lots of action, we’ll-formed plot. You will love it!
Kind of hard to keep track of the characters at times.
So so
Boring
The second book in this series is just as action packed as the first. Story keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Highly recommend! Looking forward to the next book in this series. Happy reading!
A fun read. Action-packed. I had to find the prequel after reading it.
