This is a not my normal reading material but I love the author’s other books so I was definitely up for reading it. I must say I wasn’t disappointed, a well written captivating read that had me on the edge of my seat & I couldn’t put it down. The characters were so well drawn & well fleshed that I was lost in Drac & Saieke’s attraction. The pace of the book left me breathless at times. I’d definitely recommend this book & the two others in the box set
So, I tend to only read paranormal romance occasionally, but I’m really glad I read this series. It has common paranormal elements (the Darkans are sort of like a unique mix between shifters and vampires, plus there’s the concept of a mate) but it also has a few elements I might consider more fantasy (it takes place in a non-earth world that consists of seven kingdoms…there’s political intrigue between the kingdoms and also some elemental magic going on). I think Stacy Reid does a great job of world building–enough to create the atmosphere but not enough to bog down readers with unnecessary detail.
Eternal Darkness
Now, on to the first book… Princess Saieke and Drac are wonderful together. Saieke is brave and generous. She’s also more humorous than Drac (it’s really sweet when she teases him because he’s so stern and brooding). I also love how Saieke stands up to him when he goes alpha on her. The two characters balance each other really well. I should also mention there’s a lot (a lot!) of sexual attraction between them, and the sex scenes are pretty hot. All in all, a great read!
Eternal Flames
The setup: This book is the second book in The Amagarians, though it can be read as a standalone. The heroine is the sister of the hero in the first book. They’re both Darkans, who are like vampires, shifters, and demons combined. Basically everyone’s scared of the Darkans, but all they really want to do is make some friends. So Tehdra, the heroine, is assigned to keep track of Ajali (the King of Nuria and a hot, arrogant bastard!) to stop some renegade Darkans from possibly assassinating him. To do this, she joins his harem.
This book brought me back to my early days of romance reading, when the men were domineering and arrogant and the nights were sultry. Seriously, this book is sexy. But there’s also a lot of action in it–Tehdra’s a warrior and her demon is hungry! I actually thought Tehdra could have kicked a little more ass, but for the most part I was pretty happy with the level of ass kicking.
Eternal Damnation
The setup: When Princess Shilah is forced to flee her kingdom, she seeks the aid of the Emperor of Mevia. Unfortunately, the Emperor of Mevia is a cruel ruler seeking more power and isn’t willing to let Shilah go when he finds out she has mental abilities that allow her to separate the Darkans from their beasts, thus allowing the emperor to control them. Lachlan Ravenswood has a mission to release certain prisoners in the emperor’s dungeon, but when he finds out about Princess Shilah’s abilities, he knows he has to kill her to protect his people, even if he’s reluctantly drawn to her.
Lachlan and Shilah are well-balanced characters with an interesting dynamic. Lachlan can, even for a Darkan, be pretty coldhearted, and Shilah believes firmly in mercy and forgiveness. While they clash at first, they eventually draw on each other’s strengths—throughout the story Lachlan learns to be more merciful and Shilah learns to be more unyielding. I would say this is the darkest of the series—Lachlan fully intends to kill Shilah at the beginning, and the political intrigues in the kingdoms lead up to an intense, brutal finale. Amidst all of this, Reid infuses Shilah and Lachlan’s interactions with passionate chemistry.
Book1:
My favorite Stacy Reid book so far! The story just sucks you in and holds you enraptured until the very end.
Drac and Saieka, from two different kingdoms and two very different beings find one another in very hard times for her. Saieka is a princess and he an archduke. But Drac is also a very dangerous man to be around, his people are dangerous. Saieka delves into their world for a time and discovers how wonderful his people can be and in finding a way to help bring them prosperity she finds her soulmate. From there she has to fight to get rid of a king that would have her hand no matter her situation only to be attacked yet again. The kingdoms are all on the brink of war so in turning down and refusing one kingdom she invites an alliance with one much stronger.
I absolutely loved this book. I couldn’t put it down and the erotic scenes were very much erotic and tasteful at the same time.
One thing I would have to mention was the grammatical errors found were annoying. Some of the sentences because of it were also confusing.
Over all I really loved this book so I rated it a 5 out of 5 stars!
Book 2:
A steamy romance between two sworn enemies! I read the book in one day and just couldn’t wait to see how it ended. Through the book, trying to determine what would happen I was always delighted to see how the plot unfolded. I am in love with this series and can not wait for the next book to come out!
Book 3:
From book 1 I have been hooked.
Shilah and Lachland’s relationship blooms fast and intense. Pushing Shilah to make choices she would otherwise avoid, Shilah makes Lachland want to be better than the beast that he is. Despite their love, duty still stands in the way, for both of them.
I really enjoyed this book! It was fast paced, and it was intense!!
If you are familiar with Stacy Reid’s books and love them, and can look past the errors in the story, then I would recommend it!
This is a terrific box set that includes the first three books in this series. These books are set in a complex world and the characters are well developed. The intense storylines are packed with drama, intensity, emotional turmoil, action, danger, intrigue, suspense and steamy passion. If you enjoy PNR you don’t want to miss this collection!
The Amagarians: Book 1-3 by Stacy Reid is about 915 pages and has all three books in this series. Really enjoyed these books and would recommend them.
Book 1:
Eternal Darkness by Stacy Reid is book One in The Amagarians Series. This is the story of Saieke Shyokara and Drac EL Kyn.
Saieke’s parents have promised her to the King of Nuria to strengthening their country. But Saieke knows how evil he is and escapes and heads to Earth. But she is stopped by assassins who she attempts to fight off. Drac sees the fight since they are by his realm in Darkage. There is something about Saieke that draws him in. Drac breaks up the fight but Saieke attempts to make him a deal to allow her access into his realm.
Drac is a strong alpha male who is very serious and dark. Saieke is a strong women who is smart but yet funny.
Book 2:
Eternal Flames by Stacy Reid is book Two in The Amagarians series. This is the story of Ajali Haddin and Tehdra El kyn. This book can be a standalone from the the first book.
Tehdra is a strong warrior women who has been sent to hinder an assassin from killing Ajali. Tehdra pretends to be part of a harem which is totally out of her character. It doesn’t take Ajali to0 long to know that Tehdra is more than what she seems.
Book 3:
Eternal Damnation is book Three in The Amagarians Series. This is the story of Shilah Symonrah and Lachlan Ravenswood. This book can be a standalone book but I will say the other books where just as good…so you might not want to miss out of them.
Shilah and Lachlan where possibly my favorite paring in this series. Shilah of course was a strong women character that stood up for what she believed in. Lachlan was fighting a demon inside him. Both had fights of their own but they still came together through their love.
Three incredible paranormal fantasy romance which I happily recommend. The stories are fresh and unique and the author’s voice quite compelling. This series had become one of my favorite and I am looking forward to more in this series.
