Join the Random House Reader’s Circle for author chats and more. The one and only Fannie Flagg, beloved author of Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, Can’t Wait to Get to Heaven, and I Still Dream About You, is at her hilarious and superb best in this new comic mystery novel about two women who are forced to reimagine who … two women who are forced to reimagine who they are.
Mrs. Sookie Poole of Point Clear, Alabama, has just married off the last of her daughters and is looking forward to relaxing and perhaps traveling with her husband, Earle. The only thing left to contend with is her mother, the formidable Lenore Simmons Krackenberry. Lenore may be a lot of fun for other people, but is, for the most part, an overbearing presence for her daughter. Then one day, quite by accident, Sookie discovers a secret about her mother’s past that knocks her for a loop and suddenly calls into question everything she ever thought she knew about herself, her family, and her future.
Sookie begins a search for answers that takes her to California, the Midwest, and back in time, to the 1940s, when an irrepressible woman named Fritzi takes on the job of running her family’s filling station. Soon truck drivers are changing their routes to fill up at the All-Girl Filling Station. Then, Fritzi sees an opportunity for an even more groundbreaking adventure. As Sookie learns about the adventures of the girls at the All-Girl Filling Station, she finds herself with new inspiration for her own life.
Fabulous, fun-filled, spanning decades and generations, and centered on a little-known aspect of America’s twentieth-century story, The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion is another irresistible novel by the remarkable Fannie Flagg.

“If all the self-help books that promote ways to ‘find yourself’ were stacked in an enormous pile . . . none would approach the sweet wisdom with which Flagg infuses The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion.”—Richmond Times-Dispatch
“It’s Flagg’s pleasure to hit her characters with several happy endings, but the real happiness is that she’s given us another lovable—and quirky—novel.”—The Washington Post

I am a big fan of Fanny Flagg and this book did not disappoint. Her characters are funny and real. The story tells of an important time in our country ‘s history. The book is a fun read and a definitely page turner. I was sad when it ended.
Shines a light on a little known piece of history. Entertaining!
Not a disappointment on any page. Just good reading throughout
Flagg writes well.
Enjoyed this book very much. Worth the read!
excellent!
AS a long-time fan of the author, I anticipated this read with great expectations. I was not disappointed. Reading in bed, I giggled and laughed finally collapsing into a laugh that had tears streaming down my face. My little dog, asleep in his bed, finally got up and moved to the other room to avoid my laughter at the hilarious antics of the daughters of a very strict father and mother who managed in the WW II days when women were stay-at-home-make-no-waves wives and daughters to achieve independence, make a contribution, and find their own way. I loved it. The plot was sustained albeit difficult at times, but it all worked in a marvelous way. I loved this book.
Love the way Fanny Flagg writes, like a conversation with oneself.
Good story. I really liked Sookie.
This book was absolutely Fannie Flagg at her best. I love everything she has written that I have read.I’ve fallen in love with her characters, only because they are so lovingly represented. If I had one wish in this lifetime it would be to sit down to dinner with Ms Flagg and listen to her think out loud.
If you liked Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe, you will love this book.
Flagg writes a totally fun story that perhaps reflects parts of everyone’s life.
A bit slow
I enjoyed this so much. I always like to learn as well when I read. This was great. It also had a twist I didn’t expect.
A good old Fannie Flagg book. F in as nd happy.
Very enjoyable reading. Loved it.
This book has great, interesting characters about a part of American history I had never known. The role these women played in the war effort was amazing and almost totally unheralded. Told with Fannie Flagg’s characteristic warm and complex characters, you won’t want to put this book down!!
Fannie Flagg never disappoints!
