Mrs. Sookie Poole of Point Clear, Alabama, has just married off the last of her daughters and is looking forward to relaxing and perhaps traveling with her husband, Earle. The only thing left to contend with is her mother, the formidable Lenore Simmons Krackenberry. Lenore may be a lot of fun for other people, but is, for the most part, an overbearing presence for her daughter. Then one day, quite by accident, Sookie discovers a secret about her mother’s past that knocks her for a loop and suddenly calls into question everything she ever thought she knew about herself, her family, and her future.
Sookie begins a search for answers that takes her to California, the Midwest, and back in time, to the 1940s, when an irrepressible woman named Fritzi takes on the job of running her family’s filling station. Soon truck drivers are changing their routes to fill up at the All-Girl Filling Station. Then, Fritzi sees an opportunity for an even more groundbreaking adventure. As Sookie learns about the adventures of the girls at the All-Girl Filling Station, she finds herself with new inspiration for her own life.
Fabulous, fun-filled, spanning decades and generations, and centered on a little-known aspect of America’s twentieth-century story, The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion is another irresistible novel by the remarkable Fannie Flagg.
Praise for The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion
“A beautifully told tale, world-class humor, and characters who live forever in a grateful reader’s world. Fannie Flagg keeps getting better and better. The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion proves it.”—Pat Conroy
“If all the self-help books that promote ways to ‘find yourself’ were stacked in an enormous pile . . . none would approach the sweet wisdom with which Flagg infuses The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion.”—Richmond Times-Dispatch
“It’s Flagg’s pleasure to hit her characters with several happy endings, but the real happiness is that she’s given us another lovable—and quirky—novel.”—The Washington Post

I enjoy finding stories that are sidebars yo the bigger events in history. This book does it so well. I also enjoyed for the fact that the family is from Pulaski, WI from which an old friend was from.
I enjoyed it very much and plan to read more of her books. It also gave me a little history about my state and the women pilots in wwII.
Such a great story and her characters are wonderful.
In the wonderfully entertaining style
Has some great history of WW2!
very good story
Loved this book. Fannie Flagg can really bring characters to life. Highly recommend this one!
A fine tribute to the women heroes of WWII here at home.
Not nearly as good as other books by this author. The first half moved very slowly. In the last half the characters and plot became much more interesting.
It was okay but not as funny as “Fried Green Tomatoes”
I just love Ms. Flaggs’ ability to capture the South and develop great characters!
Another great Fanny Flagg book !!!!
Fannie Flagg at her usual wonderfulness.
This was a wonderful read. You love the characters and you learn something new about our history in World War 2. The book flowed easily between the war years and the present day. She did a wonderful job of wrapping up the story at the end
Fun story and characters, lots of plot twists and turns. Down to earth people.
I loved the twist. Fannie Flag books always have one.
I loved this book! Not only did it include entertaining characters, but a great history lesson!
The twists in the story were great. Its a great story, enjoyed the part of the women fliers in WWII and the way everyone pulled together in the 30s and 40s
I really enjoyed this book and learning about the women pilots who served during WWll.
Fanny Flagg is a delightful southern writer. Loved that the setting was Point Clear where I have visited many times.
Another great one from Flagg. I laughed out loud at times! Characters are great and so real, I hated to see it end
