Mrs. Sookie Poole of Point Clear, Alabama, has just married off the last of her daughters and is looking forward to relaxing and perhaps traveling with her husband, Earle. The only thing left to contend with is her mother, the formidable Lenore Simmons Krackenberry. Lenore may be a lot of fun for other people, but is, for the most part, an overbearing presence for her daughter. Then one day, quite by accident, Sookie discovers a secret about her mother’s past that knocks her for a loop and suddenly calls into question everything she ever thought she knew about herself, her family, and her future.
Sookie begins a search for answers that takes her to California, the Midwest, and back in time, to the 1940s, when an irrepressible woman named Fritzi takes on the job of running her family’s filling station. Soon truck drivers are changing their routes to fill up at the All-Girl Filling Station. Then, Fritzi sees an opportunity for an even more groundbreaking adventure. As Sookie learns about the adventures of the girls at the All-Girl Filling Station, she finds herself with new inspiration for her own life.
Fabulous, fun-filled, spanning decades and generations, and centered on a little-known aspect of America’s twentieth-century story, The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion is another irresistible novel by the remarkable Fannie Flagg.
Praise for The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion

“If all the self-help books that promote ways to ‘find yourself’ were stacked in an enormous pile . . . none would approach the sweet wisdom with which Flagg infuses The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion.”—Richmond Times-Dispatch
“It’s Flagg’s pleasure to hit her characters with several happy endings, but the real happiness is that she’s given us another lovable—and quirky—novel.”—The Washington Post

Very easy to read. Fannie Flagg makes her characters come to life.
I love Fannie Flagg’s writing. Her stories are unique, and it doesn’t take long to get lost in them. I didn’t know about the WASP’s, and their contribution to history.
Fanny Flag never disappoints. I have read every book she has ever published, and always look forward to spend time in the worlds that Ms. Flagg creates. This book is a must read if you enjoy books with strong characters that are original and story lines that capture your interest as well as your emotions
I was interested in the premise of the story and the historical references behind it, but I was disappointed in the lack of depth in the characters and the vacuous writing style. It was a quick read, but not something I’d recommend to readers who enjoy a more carefully crafted tale.
Great book! If you are an admirer of Fammie Flagg, you won’t be disappointed. If you’re not a fan yet, you should be!
Love all Fannie Flagg books!
This book was so well written. I learned things I had never before known but it wasn’t crammed down your throat as some that are written portraying our society as it existed in the 1940s.
Typical Fannie Flagg book. Funny and easy ton read.
A good read
Surprising history lessons worked into an unexpected and entertaining plot. Excellent character development
Loved this book. I could hardly stop reading it!
I laughed and I cried – and I couldn’t put it down.
