Two years have passed since humankind faced extinction: Two cousins are leaving the protection of their underground bunker for the first time, after a cataclysmic war and unrelenting disease ravaged the earth. On the other side of North America, a young survivalist is leaving the seclusion of his cabin deep in the woods, traveling with his aging canine companion, Winston. For individual reasons, … reasons, these men are traveling east, where the fragmented lives of a small number of survivors will soon be decided by the choices of a corrupt few. Although they are not yet aware, the strength that resides inside them will soon be tested, and destiny will call for their fates to be forever intertwined. “A fierce post-apocalyptic story of war and loss, of nature’s vengeance, of survival in the face of overwhelming odds.” – Manhattan Book Reviews

A story of how life could be after a nuclear war.
I really enjoyed this book. 2 years after a nuclear and biological world war 2 survivors emerge from their underground bunker. Their goal is to reach family members in a different underground bunker and take them to meet their uncle a general. Another lone survivor and his dog have survived in a remote cabin and has used his skills as well as some stored foods to survive and has now decided it is time to find his family. They eventually meet up and have to fight off a organized murderous band of criminals.
Unputdownable! Wow just WOW!!!
Outstanding!!! Wow just wow! Action packed thrill ride for sure. Excellent series with characters you love and some… that are absolutely horrifying. Highly recommend 5 Wonderfully Frightening Stars!
Fantastic read but extremely graphic in gore. It was scary in that it almost seemed like it was telling todays story of the covid 19 disease except in this case the disease was a result of nuclear war. How quickly life can deteriorate. I hope it not a foreteller of our future.
I found the characters easy to become attached to. Their quirks make you wonder how you would be in their situation.
It took me a while to finish this book. I like a book that will keep me turning the pages and hard to put down and this was not it. Actually I didn’t finish the book. It was slow going.
I liked the survival tips and day to day living off the grid.
A great 1st installment for this series. Lots of actio and twist, engaging characters and great plot. I’m in for the next book in the series.
leaves reader hanging. weird concepts, but worth reading.
Great book
Loved it
Loved this book! I immediately bought book 2 and cannot wait for book 3!
Started pretty good, got really long in the middle. I stopped about 2/3 through, as I just didn’t care.
Very well written and a great plot
great read
Not very realistic
Such a great book.
What can/will happen if everything goes to crap in our world.
How will we manage our humanity???
Good until the end
Quick read, but a combination of depressing and uplifting. The good guys win in the end, but you have to buy next book in the series to see what will happen next.
Enjoyed the characters and the story line.
