I really enjoyed this book, there was so many twist and turns as to who the killer was that it kept me hooked. I love this series as Sabre and the team are great characters but I really loved the introduction of JP’s niece and nephew and hope to see them in a lot more books in the future. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommended it.
JP is in for a shock when he opens his front door, to find a niece he never knew he had on the front step. Worse she is there because her brother has just been arrested for murder. Estranged from his brother JP and Sabre are in for a crash course learning about his family as well as trying to find the really killer. It’s not long before punches are thrown and suspects pop up as JP tries to track down his missing brother. Sabre also has other cases in court that need her attention but with JP busy she turns to Bob (her work husband and fellow attorney) for help which complicates matters further. Will JP lose his nephew before he even gets to met him? Or will the team come together and find the real killer?
The narrator was good and I had no problems telling the characters apart.
I really enjoy this series, always several events/cases happening at one time. Ralistic.
A great who done it. many heartwarming moments. I enjoyed the book emensily.
This author has the knack to keep you glued to her novels REALL PAGE TURNER!
I love all of Theresa Burrell’s books and am anxiously awaiting her latest. I can’t put them down.
I liked the characters; the connections and interactions kept my interest. But the plot was drawn out way too much and long and when resolution finally happened, I was glad to see the book end.
I have liked the characters in this string of books and this was no exception. It is a little unrealistic but well within the scope of a plausible suspension of disbelief. Fun read.
I love all of her books!!
All of Burrell’s Advocate books are very good reads with interesting plot lines.
Well written. I have read other books by this author. Consistently good.
Teresa Burrell is consistently entertaining. The San Diego connecion draws me in everytime. Juvenile court is not usually a topic, especially in suspense novels. These stories are different, original, and attention grabbing. I just love her books.
A good read with good characters and a great story line.
All of Teresa Burrell’s books fantastic. I can’t put them down, then don’t want them to end! I wish this series could be never-ending. 5 !!!!!
This book held my interest from the beginning all the way to the end. Did not foresee many of the twists and turns. Hard to put down when needed sleep as it was so engrossing. Simply a great book. Kudos to Ms. Burrell.
Great book. Reading her 5th book in the Eva Thomas series now. I will read some of her other books in the future
Sabre and JP are on the case to help JP’s 15-year old nephew, Conner, who is accused of murdering his grandmother’s abusive boyfriend. As background this family drama includes the grandmother, the abusive boyfriend, the parents, Roxy and Gene (JP’s estranged bother) and their children Conner and 10-year old Morgan. Roxy is far from an ideal parent and likes to party. Gene who off and on is out of prison is sometimes a good parent. All in all a very dysfunctional family. Sabre feels certain Conner is not the murderer but the evidence points strongly to him. There are lots of fireworks back and forth between the estranged brothers as they work to acquit Conner and the case becomes more and more convoluted. One of the highlights of this story for me is Morgan. I loved her character! All the characters are so interesting. This is one of my favorite series, especially since it is set in San Diego, my hometown. This is definitely a 5*+ series and is highly recommended.
A good thriller with twists and turns that kept my attention and often had me reading late into the night. I enjoyed the book right up to the last page.
Teresa’s English is not up to her usual quality. As always, she’s a good story teller. I always enjoy her stories.
I’ve read some of the others in this series and really enjoyed them all.
I really enjoyed this book. This author never disappoints!
