Attorney Sabre O. Brown is called upon to defend an abused fourteen-year-old boy of murder after a body is discovered in a shallow grave with the word GOOF scrawled across his forehead.Years later when more bodies are unearthed baring the same GOOF signature, two more abused juveniles are accused of the gruesome slayings. In order to convince a jury of her client’s innocence, Sabre must either … must either find a copycat killer; prove the murderer was a trusted friend of the three boys; or realize her worst fear—that her teenage clients carried out their own brand of vigilante justice to the men who abused them.

another good book in this series
I loved this book looking forward to reading more of the series
While I wasn’t as into this book as much as some of Burrell’s other books with the same characters, I still found it to be an interesting and solid read. She is a consistent writer whose works are read-worthy.
Well written with only a few minor editing issues which did not interfere with my enjoying the book. Likable characters and good plotting. Have enjoyed several books in this series.
Loved it would definitely recommend to do a friend
This one kept my interest for hours
I don’t usually like legal mystery books but this one kept me interested and I didn’t want to put it down.
Most excellent. Would highly recommend to a friend
Disturbing due to pedophilia subject matter.
I enjoy Teresa Burrell’s Advocate series. Sabre Brown gets herself into some predicaments along the way in advocating for the innocent children.
This book reads like a bad TV script. The rare descriptions of the character’s surrounding are like set descriptions…ie detailed description of a mailroom, or other places no one cares about. The bulk of the book is dialogue from the point of view of the private detective or the lawyer. Once I got the story line, I skipped all the dialogue to the last few chapters which were pretty good. The ending had good action scenes and the story wrapped up well. I guess I didn’t like the writer’s style. It probably would have made a mediocre Lifetime TV movie.
Short but interesting. Starts right in with the main theme and rolls quickly. I didn’t really suspect anyone until just before you find out who did the evil deed. A quick read between heavier and longer books.
Great book. Kept me guessing til the end and it isn’t a cliff hanger
Not her best book
Good read, liked the plot.
Great read. Gripping; engaging characters. Like the series
Trudged through about half way, then gave up. IMO just not good writing, too many good authors out there to waste time on not so good ones.
Not very realistic three 14 yr olds charged with murder.
The story was fine, it held my interest but the writing seemed geared toward young adults
Very poor! Won’t be reading any books by this author.
