Attorney Sabre O. Brown is called upon to defend an abused fourteen-year-old boy of murder after a body is discovered in a shallow grave with the word GOOF scrawled across his forehead.Years later when more bodies are unearthed baring the same GOOF signature, two more abused juveniles are accused of the gruesome slayings. In order to convince a jury of her client’s innocence, Sabre must either … must either find a copycat killer; prove the murderer was a trusted friend of the three boys; or realize her worst fear—that her teenage clients carried out their own brand of vigilante justice to the men who abused them.

This story was a real brain twister for me because I put myself there right along with the investigation. In trying to unravel who’s responsible for these murders. Considering the futures of minors involved that are accused of murders, they left no stone unturned. They showed undefeated skills on the job. A good story and one worth reading.
This story is very intense. It pits two timelines and engages the past and present to find the real killer. This story engaged me as I tried to figure out who the real killer is, as a young innocent boy is sent to jail for killing his abuser. This story had more emotional punch than the last couple of stories, but that is probably because the subject is an intensely emotional problem we have in this society. The narrator does an excellent job with the voices and engages you quickly into the action.
I liked this book but it almost seemed like two books in one. It was good but the lines were familiar and not as good as her previous books. I still recommend.

Love all the Advocate books by Teresa Burrell. Good writing I can count on.
lawyer and P.I. helping boys who have been molested and are in foster care homes. A very interesting insight in what goes on and happens to boys who have had this type of trauma in their lives…
a fun read
For a change, I was unsure of the perp until the very end. Very unexpected.
Really enjoyed this one but I was able to figure it out. I’ll be keeping an eye out for others in the series.
