For Sabre Orin Brown, life is good; she has it all… or would have, if only she could solve the mysterious disappearance of her brother. The search for her brother and her career as a Juvenile Court Attorney collide when she defends a nine-year-old whose father will go to any length to obtain custody.
Sabre finds herself immersed in a case with too many unanswered questions. Her quest for the … for the truth takes her coast to coast and five years into the past. Confronted with mysterious clues and strange occurrences, Sabre is threatened by someone wanting to make her suffer the unbearable anguish of losing everything — including her life.
As Sabre’s passion to find the answers intensifies, she discovers a twisted history of desperation, deceit, and revenge. And she discovers how obscure and treacherous the truth can be.

One of the best books I’ve read this year. Perfect? No, but intelligent, well-written, engaging, and mostly realistic. The action is true to the subject matter. The ending is contrived, but emotionally satisfying.
Kept my interest. Read in 1/2 day.
Worthy of a movie script. Enjoyed the sincerity of the main character.
Loved this book. Page turner.
Too many twist to be believed!
Great escape novel and a page turner. Story line moves st a good pace and easily holds interest. I an on the third advocate book and will look for more.
Poor quality of writing and to many trite Southern stereotypes.
This book wasvery enjoyable. Surprise ending.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. Characters are very likeable, story line believeable, kept me interested all the way through.
I absolutely loved this book and it’s one of my favorites this year and earlier. It’s suspenseful, tight, and clearly edited well. I am so happy to find this author and series and plan to read all of them.
Excellent story
Read several advocate series book
interesting twist at the end
Anything with adventure and action is great reading. This had both. Kept you following for sure.
Loved this book
This is the 1st book by this author in the Advocate series. You don’t have to read them in order but this book introduces all the main characters. It’s also educational in that I knew nothing about the juvenile court system and the main character, Sabre Brown is the attorney that represent the children.
Nice read.
The Title peeked my interest but I was not impressed by the contents or being misled it was a legal courtroom subject matter however it was an easy read but predictable not a book that remains in my memory
This whole series is a great read.
I love courtroom dramas and this was no exception. There are some things unrealistic that bug me but not enough to want to read every book in the series!
