Okay this book pretty much sums up my dream fairy tale life lol!
As a girl from Vegas I totally loved that this book took place there! Even better in the Bellagio Casino – where I often stay when I go back and visit. So yes, this scenario could totally happen to me lol!
This book is about Keira, an unemployed, former marketing specialist, who is a bit unsure what direction her life is going in. So, to try and figure things out she moves out of her apartment, puts her stuff in storage, and goes down to Las Vegas to spend some time with her sister’s family. Deciding to go out on the town one night and blow off some steam she ends up at the Bellagio Casino on the Strip.
This book is about Cade, a sexy, GQ, Brit, from England, who is battling his own life issues. Deciding to also get away to sort things out he ends up in Sin City as well.
Cade, the Earl of Barrett, inherited his title and family estate upon his father’s death. Unfortunately, his father placed strict stipulations that if Cade was not married for at least one year before turning thirty he would forfeit his claim on the estate and it would transfer to Cade’s younger brother, Edward.
Upon arriving in Vegas, Cade’s twenty-ninth birthday was only five days away. Cade was just about to run out of time before opportunity literally ran right into him! That’s right! Keira had just won big at the slot machines and was so excited she wasn’t paying attention and bumped into Cade on the casino floor. These two felt an instant spark and Cade asked her to dinner. Over dinner they both opened up about the problems they faced and the difficult choices they weren’t sure how they were going to handle. Although, Keira had just met Cade she offered to marry him as it would solve both of their problems – she needed a place to live and had always wanted to visit England; and he needed a wife. Cade was smitten with her and Keira found him quite handsome and charming. Plus, they both knew they needed each other so they agreed to marry for one year and one day. But what started out as a business arrangement, starts to get blurry when the more time they spend together the more they grow fonder of each other. It isn’t long before feelings are developed and emotions are on the line. But will they admit that to each other? Or will they stick to their agreement of keeping it professional? Then add in family drama, a brother trying to break up the marriage to win over the estate, a culture adjustment and being thousands of miles away from family and friends – things definitely complicated – and well entertaining!
I loved the characters! Keira and Cade were likable, honest, and genuine. They were very well developed! Cade was a true gentleman and Keira was a lady. I loved their chemistry! Also, the way the fought for each other, helped each other, supported each other, and pushed each other to succeed.
This book was beautifully written with fantastic details, and wonderful characters! Also, I totally loved the storyline! Very creative, but still realistic! And I’m totally gonna be booking another trip to the Bellagio soon lol!
{{I noticed that some people mentioned unrealistic in the sense that nobody would trust and marry someone and move to another country without really knowing them… But honestly, that’s not true… I really think it’s a generation thing, and as a millennial we all are too trusting and often meet people after just a few hours (if that) in person after chatting online or go home with someone after meeting them at a club and only dancing with them for maybe a couple songs… We see celebrities get married after only knowing each other for a couple weeks or a couple months… So not unrealistic at all…}}
This book is fast paced and keeps you fully engaged and entertained through the last page!
I gave this book a strong five-star rating and I probably would have given it more if I could have!
I would absolutely recommend this book to all romance readers! This is a wonderful take on a modern-day fairy tale! I can’t wait to see what Debra write’s next… Perhaps a book featuring Cade’s sister, Elizabeth???
