The hysterical, clever, and unforgettable sequel to Jonas Jonasson’s international bestseller The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared.
He’s back. Even older. Even funnier.
It all begins with a hot air balloon trip and three bottles of champagne. Allan and Julius are ready for some spectacular views, but they’re not expecting to land in the sea and be rescued by a … not expecting to land in the sea and be rescued by a North Korean ship, and they could never have imagined that the captain of the ship would be harboring a suitcase full of contraband uranium, on a nuclear weapons mission for Kim Jong-un. Yikes!
Soon Allan and Julius are at the center of a complex diplomatic crisis involving world figures from the Swedish foreign minister to Angela Merkel and President Trump. Needless to say, things are about to get very, very complicated.
Another hilarious, witty, and entertaining novel from bestselling author Jonas Jonasson that will have readers howling out-loud at the escapades and misfortunes of its beloved hundred-year-old hero Allan Karlsson and his irresistible sidekick Julius.

From escaping a hotel bill in Indonesia to escaping North Korea with a briefcase full of uranium, this book is a riot. In some ways I almost liked this better than the 100-year-old man’s first adventures, although part of that might have been me enjoying the old man’s wry observations of Trump’s behavior.
The author does a terrific job of turning what seems like a jumble of events and mishaps and bringing them all together in a satisfying mix of happenstance and good fortune.
The only thing I didn’t really like about the book was the Sabina character who came across as a complete jerk, and was especially rude to the 100-year-old man.
You probably will understand this book better if you’ve read the first book (or seen the movie).
Not many books catch my funny bone like The Accidental Further Adventures of the 100 Year Old man! It takes on most of the important recent political figures and skewers them..The adventures are a hoot and a half! Skip it, though, if you are a dyed-in-the-wool Trump fan.
A worthy sequel to The 100-Year-Old Man who Climbed out a Window and Disappeared. If you need a good laugh (and who doesn’t these days?), this book will have you chuckling throughout every page. I certainly hope the author is hard at work on the next book in the series.
Did not finish. Too political. Not as funny as his first book
I enjoyed it very much. A timely and critical look at our political days of insanity.
I did not read much more than about 25% of the book. The humor seemed to be rather contrived, and I became bored pretty quickly.
I loved this book so much; from the very first paragraph, I did not want to put it down. What a fantastic, and fantastical, tale! I highly recommend it if you enjoy a bit of dark humour with your adventures.
In a word; hysterical! Having read the first Hundred Year Old Man book which was funny in its own right, this story goes far beyond. For those familiar, when we first meet Alan, he escapes from a nursing home in Sweden and in the process stumbles across a suitcase with millions. In this story, Alan bonds with Julius, an asparagus importer/exporter and together they fumble their way around the world. Similar to the first book, Jonasson bends genre with a quasi-Monty Python approach. As a result, many of the chapters are outlandish. Better yet, nothing is held back when it comes to bashing world leaders, Trump included. If you enjoy laughing out loud, plots that twist and turn in the most outrageous manner, you’ll enjoy the antics of Alan and Julius in this story. Highly recommended!
Surprisingly entertaining.
Very funny adventures of a 101 year old man and his friends as they end up where they end up, get money when they need it, and meet a whole slew of political world leaders along the way.
I loved this book! I hope I’m as feisty as Allen is when I’m 100 years old. Wonderful adventures, great characters and the story of Allen’s life before his 100th birthday are woven in with historical events. Really fun read!
One of the best books I’ve read in a while. I’m sure that there’s not much more in terms of praise that I can add to the cannon of people who have loved this book, but it was just so much fun. I read it in an afternoon while doing the laundry and haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. The book stays with you in a good way. I loved the way that the characters enjoy life and keep moving through crazy experiences while still maintaining an infectious passion for life. I just wish it hadn’t taken me so long to take it off my bookshelf to read.
Worth every minute. I loved this book.
What a delight to read! And a welcome reprieve from the meaningfulness-overload of reading too many books of deep, thoughtful, challenging, realistic content without coming up for air.
Not as good as the original 100 year old man, but a humorous and timely story well worth reading.
I loved the main character! One must step outside the realm of reality and just enjoy the romp!
Not nearly as entertaining as the first book.
This book was better than expected and a really fun read. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Laugh-out-loud hilarity in places. Typical Scandinavian tilted humor.
Great story teller, very entertaining
