There’s a serial killer on the loose, bent on working his way though the alphabet. There seems little chance of the murderer being caught — until her makes the crucial and vain mistake of challenging Hercule Poirot to frustrate his plans …

The first full-length Christie novel I read at the age of 11 or 12, having discovered her in the Poirot short story collection THE LABORS OF HERCULES, I became an immediate fan and began reading even more of her work.
This one involves a diabolical serial killer in a novel memorable enough that I still recall not only the identity of the …
The greatest mystery writer of all time does it again.
WHo can tire of Agatha Christe
Agatha Christie always keeps you guessing!
I am never disappointed with a Christie novel. Rich characters, surprising twists, and face-palm ending that you should have seen from a while away, but shocked you because you didn’t.
This mystery even stumped the infamous detective, H.P., but not because of the reasons you think. He knows something is amiss, but the genre reads more like a …
I really love Agatha Christy books because they are clean reading and keep you guessing. Just when you think you figured out the killer she throws a wrench in there to confuse you. Great characters and dialogue too. I love Hercule Poirot and how he figures peoople out and gets to the bottom of everything.
Agatha Christie was an outstanding author. I’ve read many of her books. I enjoy miss Marple a little better, but M. Poirot is quite entertaining. The differences in language and writing styles keeps me on my toes, but I would recommend this book!
The ABC Murders is an Agatha Christie novel about a serial killer who chooses his victims alphabetically. The murderer taunts Poirot by writing letters to him and naming the location of his next murder. This was my first glimpse at the Hercule Poirot character. He was a genius with idiosyncrasies I learned to love and sometimes chuckle at.
Nobody has ever equaled Dame Agatha in their ability to concoct twisted, cunning, beautifully deceptive and utterly believable murder mysteries. Each one is a jewel!
Only so-so as far as the mystery goes I thought. Not the best, but not the worst. I did find it very interesting to find that the thinking in 1935 on “series” murders and the psychology of the people who commit them was almost identical to what is believed today. I had no idea serial murder had been studied to that extent at that time, or are …
Love Hercule Perot and this was a first read of this character. Relaxing and reading it was very enjoyable.
Well, it is Hercule Poirot after all!!!!
Have read it before and will read it again. Entertaining and well done. A.C. never disappoints.
Great and fun read – like all Christie’s work.
Typical of Agatha Christi books. Better than some, not as good as others.
Agatha Christi and Hercule Poiret are always entertaining.
Sunshine
Always a great read
The Belgian detective at his best!
Agatha Christie invented most of the best plots ever in mystery–so many others are copies.
Traditional Christie–very readable with a twist at the end.
