A remote military research station sends out a frantic distress call, ending with a chilling final command: Kill us all! Personnel from the neighboring base rush in to discover everyone already dead-and not just the scientists, but every living thing for fifty square miles is annihilated: every animal, plant, and insect, even bacteria. The land is entirely sterile-and the blight is spreading. To … spreading.
To halt the inevitable, Commander Gray Pierce and Sigma must unravel a threat that rises out of the distant past, to a time when Antarctica was green and all life on Earth balanced upon the blade of a knife. Following clues from an ancient map rescued from the lost Library of Alexandria, Sigma will discover the truth about an ancient continent, about a new form of death buried under miles of ice.
From millennia-old secrets out of the frozen past to mysteries buried deep in the darkest jungles of today, Sigma will face its greatest challenge to date: stopping the coming extinction of mankind.
But is it already too late?

James Rollins Sigma Force books are always informative and relevant to the current world situation. Great fiction writing incorporating interesting facts. Plenty of action to keep the pace moving.
Great read
Thrills, chills and makes you think about what our future generations will deal with in their lives. Reading the series, but each book stands alone.
I like James Rollins, but sometimes his books are a little more detailed than I like. This is one of those. But it is a good story.
James Rollins writes great page turner books and The Sixth Extinction is no different. It’s full of frightening possibilities…the what if’s in life! I can highly recommend this book!
Kept me up all night. Plot sticks with you and haunts.
Enjoyed the story and the fantastical tale.
Absolutely nothing. Boring and unrealistic. Just a repeat of the scenario before.
I love James Rollins’ Sigma Force novels. This one kept me intrigued
I love this author.
Love all his Books. Can’t put the book down.
Close to scifi as I’ll get. Great!
A rare book that I couldn’t put down until I finished it, one of those 2am books. A very scary premise all the more reasonable because of all the medical research going on today and the growing number of people who seem to think that the world would be a better place with fewer people. I like the Sigma Force folks, so that made the book even more entertaining.
I personally really like this book
James Rollins is one of my favorite authors. This book is not his best, but it is a very entertaining read. I highly recommend it.
Lousy
A bit slow for my taste, seem to drag at times. Over all not a bad read.
Fascinating pre war French Saigon
Fast-paced page Turner
I sm only hslf way done but am really enjoyibg this book!
