If you are having relationship issues and want to know where you can start making changes within yourself and your relationship, this book gives you this start. I took the test without my partner and read the book without my partner knowing. I started using the information in the book to find my partner’s “love language” and “speaking” it. It has worked wonders in our relationship. I have been able to express my needs and wants to my partner and listen to what are my partner’s needs and wants. Give this book a try.
I was introduced to these concepts years ago by a family member and have used the five languages to show appreciation at work and through other relationships. I have found the five languages close to real life.
The book comes from a mildly Christian background and is a little heavy on the “women be obedient and stay in the relationship” end of things, but is a practical application of technique rather than an academic treatise. I would love to see the Meyers-Briggs temperaments matched up to the five languages.
Somewhat oversimplified, but worth reading nonetheless.
