Detective Lindsay Boxer’s investigation into the disappearance of three teachers escalates from missing persons to murder in this “shocking” Women’s Murder Club thriller (Lisa Gardner, #1 NYT bestselling author). For a trio of colleagues, an innocent night out after class ends in a deadly torture session. They vanish without a clue — until a body turns up. With the safety of San Francisco’s … San Francisco’s entire school system at stake, Lindsay has never been under more pressure. As the chief of police and the press clamor for an arrest in the “school night” case, Lindsay turns to her best friend, investigative journalist Cindy Thomas. Together, Lindsay and Cindy take a new approach to the case, and unexpected facts about the victims leave them stunned.
While Lindsay is engrossed in her investigation, her husband Joe meets an Eastern European woman who claims to have seen a notorious war criminal — long presumed dead — from her home country. Before Lindsay can verify the woman’s statement, Joe’s mystery informant joins the ranks of the missing women. Lindsay, Joe, and the entire Women’s Murder Club must pull together to protect their city and one another — not from a ghost, but from a true monster.

Love this series….hard to wait for the next book!
I just finished this book. The book takes place 5 years ago when Joe and Lindsey were newly weds. The story line is different and the story mostly features Lindsey and Joe. I lived this book and can’t wait for the next one, 19th Christmass. James Patterson never disappoints.
This book was set five years ago when Lindsay and Joe and up searching for the connection between their two cases. His a war crimes criminal who was convicted then suddenly let go and thought to have drowned mysteriously. Only to show up in San Francisco years later running a steak house. He is spotted by one of his victims who seeks Joe help. Lindsay ‘s case involving the disappearance of three school teachers after a night out at a club. The storylines where gripping and I didn’t want to put it down. Can’t wait for the next book in the series to come out.
I love the Womens Murder club.
Read it in one night, love James Patterson & love this series & as usual a page turner
One of the best Women’s Murder Club books yet.
Great characters, entertaining, suspenseful. Read all 18.
I think this may be my favorite in the series so far. The plot is really good and different and the characters are wonderful as always.
Pretty intense because a WHOLE bunch of people working on solving the abduction of three teachers only spins their wheels and really doesn’t get anywhere. It takes an informant to move things along, but not before worse things happen. How does this super, really bad guy always know what the law enforcement is doing and who exactly is watching him? We never find that out either. The conclusion comes rapidly, and then we get to skip ahead five years to see how it all ends. Quick read!
I enjoyed this book’s storyline. This book’s storyline was heart breaking . This story was gruesome. I really liked Anna’s strength. I really liked Susan’s strength. I really liked the ending.
