Debbie Macomber’s special warmth and heart shine in this classic novel of letting love find its way home. After watching the man she loves walk down the aisle with her sister, Cathy Thompson needs to get away. Alaska—beautiful, remote, and far from bitter memories—sounds like the perfect place to start over. But a brand-new life comes with brand-new challenges . . . namely Grady Jones, a pilot … Jones, a pilot and single dad who has a solution to both their problems: a marriage of convenience.
Grady isn’t looking for love. He tried that once and failed. He just needs a wife, and Cathy is smart, easy on the eyes, and adored by his daughter. But Grady doesn’t count on the way Cathy gets under his skin, the way she makes him want to be a better husband and father. Grady didn’t think he had any more love inside to give, but Cathy proves him wrong. With his wife by his side, this pilot learns to soar on the wings of a future neither of them dreamed possible.
BONUS: This edition includes excerpts from Debbie Macomber’s Last One Home and The Inn at Rose Harbor.

The only thing wrong with this book is – it finally came to an end. I enjoyed this book immensely. It’s more like Debbie wrote when she first started writing. I like her books now – but this one was special.
I read everything she writes.
Not Debbie Macomber’s best book but interesting and I liked it.
Quick, predictable but interesting read.
The characters were immature and didn’t know how to communicate. I just wanted to smack them up side the head for most of the book. I slogged through to finish it, but it was a waste of time.
Terrible writing. One of the few books ever I’ve not finished by choice.
Having enjoyed so many of this author’s books, I failed to read the reviews before I picked up this book. If you enjoy reading about “snarky” bold women like Cathy and brooding handsome men like Grady, this is the book for you. The story-line is saved by a sweet child, Angela, and her love of the people around her. The book had just too much stress and sadness
I bought this book and was charged double the stated price.
This is an emotional romance where both parties struggles to overcome their past heart felt misfortunes. What starts out as a marriage of convenience leads to so much more. Break out your Kleenexes.
IT WAS NOT ONE OF HER BEST
very predictable… too much self talk and unrealistic.
Glad to see the character overcome their struggles and misunderstandings.
I like this author, so I was surprised when I read this book. At the end, she states that this is one of her older books. It’s really disappointing with a main female character that equates to images of long ago about how women act around men and in married life. I kept expecting a change in her manner but it never changed. Stay away from the old stuff. It’s a depressing take on women with a bad old-fashioned outlook.
This was most unexpected plot yet of the Debbie Macomber’s books I’ve read! As usual with her novels, I couldn’t put it down!
I thought it was too short!!!!!!!
I love every one of Debbie Macomber books! And I always like a happy ending. It’s always fun to see how she arrives at the happy ending!!
Like a Hallmark Movie, the book is very predictable, but a feel good kind of thing.
The usual romance with Alaska thrown in for a different location.
Typical for this author. Good story line and easy to read.
Read like a Harlequin romance.
