Reviewing: That Wicked Harlot
Radcliff Barrington learned that his cousin loses the Brayten Estate, through gambling, he immediately searches to whom he would buy back the title.
Darcy Sherwood would do anything for her family, she gambles just to be able to support them. Not only that she’s on top of her game, but Darcy is also a beauty that captures every man’s attention. Her biggest win was the Brayten estate, coincidentally owned by the person who mistreated her sister, and she wants revenge.
When Radcliff first met Darcy, he insulted and belittles her. Much to her annoyance, Darcy didn’t give in to Radcliff’s monetary offer in exchange for the deed. What Darcy did was to offer a challenge to Radcliff…
“You will submit to being my suitor—an ardent suitor—for a period of six months. You will tend to my every wish and command. Only then, upon your satisfactory and unconditional submission, will I relinquish the deed to Brayten.
Once he accepted it, will he have the patience to be at the beck and call of Darcy? Radcliff is known to be a ladies’ man, will Darcy succumbed to his undeniably good looks and charm?
It’s been a while since I read a book from this genre and glad I picked this one, it captivates me from beginning to end. I immensely enjoyed reading this short story. Georgette Brown is a new author to me and I’ll definitely read more of her work. If you’re looking for a short and well written historical romance I definitely recommend this one.
Super Steamy from beginning to end!
Darcy and Radcliffe are great together…
They both are dominant yet submissive.
Very delicious.
All of Georgette Brown novels are fun, steamy romps!
Lady Luck for Darcy has been quite kind she is part white and part black an entitled heir with his own history with Darcy’s family gambled and lost Brayten, the Barrington country seat. And if the family wants it back, it will cost a pretty penny. Not to mention there’s no love lost between the Sherwoods and the Barringtons. Radcliff Barrington, the fourth Baron Broadmoor. He’s the typical member of the Regency upper ten-thousand. Of course, his title and his arrogance should be enough to regain the deed. He’s set about to teach “That Wicked Harlot” a lesson.
Then meets her in the flesh, Miss Darcy Sherwood. More than sparks fly as these two headstrong people butt heads. If Radcliff wants Brayten back, he’s going to have to play by her rules. And man, does she lead him a merry chase. A chase, he finds over time he enjoys.
The book was an easy read but all of the events were predictable.
Loved it
I stopped reading this book after about 4 or 5 chapters. There really wasn’t a plot yet, just a lot sex. I don’t mind the steamy scenes, but it was constant with no plot. I like a story line and a little mystery with my book.
If you love lots of steamy action then this book is for you. It has a romantic theme as well as the Baron falls for a less than reputable woman. I enjoyed reading it.
Two strong, main characters. Darcy Sherwood is responsible for supporting her mother, sister, and nephew. Radcliff Barrington, the Baron Broadmoor, determined to regain a family estate lost in a gambling hall. Simple plot. Good dialogue. Lots of steamy sex. Plenty of emotion between the two.
Rating: 3 1/2 to 4 stars
I enjoyed reading a truly original plot! A sassy, scandalous, yet good hearted heroine, meets handsome, wealthy, cynical, stubborn, yet irresistible hero. Steamy and hilarious power struggle ensues. Great read!!
I enjoyed a look into a nontraditional role for a female in this time period.
Fun light reading, actually very modern subject (interracial relationship) for the time period of the book. I liked it and would read another book from the author
I love this book and can’t wait to read more of her books. Read it in one night,
I thought I would enjoy this book even though I was hesitant about the description and reviews. There seemed to be more sex than story and right up to the end they couldn’t seem to trust each other. Not my cup of tea.
I couldn’t really get into this book. I read about 1/3 of it. Then skipped ahead a little and just couldn’t myself interested in in enough to finish it. So I didn’t.
I was really surprised how much I liked this book. The description of the book had me doubtful, but I was pleasantly surprised how caught up in the story I got. I really liked both the heroine and the hero. It was a great book.
An very enthralling book
There seemed to be some issues with consent several times that made me question the author’s judgment.
This book is a page turner. It does have some racy graphic passages so it si not for the innocent. Very steamy.
Fun, oldtime morality present – despite the title!!
