USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn delivers a smart and cheeky romance about love’s power to lift hearts . . . and curses. It was supposed to be an innocent night, celebrating my brother’s birthday. Nothing was supposed to go wrong. We’d vowed to be on our best behavior after all . . .But it only took one rowdy night with my brothers to flip my world upside down. One unlucky encounter … world upside down. One unlucky encounter saddled us with a family curse and the promise of doomed relationships. I laughed it off immediately. “Yeah, right,” I thought. “A love curse. Ha!”
Boy, was I wrong.
Word spreads quickly in a town like mine; rumors about that night soon made us the most eligible yet untouchable bachelors in Port Snow, Maine. As a subject of endless gossip and speculation, I could kiss my dating life goodbye.
It would have stayed that way if Ren Winters, the new girl in town, hadn’t crashed into my life. Brave, beautiful, and smart—her vivacious thirst for a fresh start has given me hope that maybe, just maybe, I can have one too.
Everyone wishes for that second chance . . . but could this really be mine?

I never wanted this book to end!
After a trip to New Orleans and an unfortunate encounter, Griffin Knightly thinks he and his brothers are cursed. Word spreads in his small town leaving causing most women to steer clear, not that he has any plans to date.
That changes when Ren Winters arrives in Port Snow. She suffers an accident when she first arrives and Griffin is the one to rescue her.
She’s there for a fresh start and maybe that means one for Griff as well.
Lots of sibling ribbing and fun. A little angst too and some steam.
Griffin and his brothers made a bad choice when celebrating one of their 21st birthdays. That bad choice brought upon a curse to their love life.
A curse that rules Griffin’s life and hurts others around him in the process.
Ren is breaking away and creating a fresh start in Maine. That start didn’t go as well as she planned with this accident prone woman keeping everyone on their toes.
Together, even a curse struggles to keep them apart.
I enjoyed these two characters alone but together they were just so sweet.
Add in falling in love with all the Knightly men, and entertainment they provided, it was a load of fun. Not only are they the most amazing and sweet guys but hilarious! So many times I was busting up laughing because of them.
Definitely an enjoyable read that I can’t wait to see what happens to the next Knightly Brother.
This was a little fluffier than I thought it would be, it got more emotional as it went on, but there was just something missing for me. The narration was fine, but some of the voices were a little odd. I really liked the premise of the story though and if you like small town romance you will probably really enjoy it. I’m sure I’m in the minority here.
I adore Meghan Quinn’s easy, breezy writing. Her characters leap off the page, and all the brothers in this series are fantastic. Can’t wait for the next one!
I really struggled rating this book. While it is well written and I really enjoyed most of the story, I absolutely hated the way this family disregards any and all healthy boundaries the hero tried to put in place. It’s clear his siblings and parents love him and want nothing but his happiness, but they are beyond intrusive and unbelievably dismissive when he clearly and plainly tells them, repeatedly, that he doesn’t want or appreciate their interference.
I know my complete and utter dislike of this dysfunctional family dynamic stems from my own experiences with this type of boundary stomping, so I struggled with the rating because this is truly my issue. If it doesn’t bother you, it’s a good story worth reading. However, is this type of thing annoys or triggers you, you might want to skip this series. Meghan Quinn has several other wonderful books you could check out instead.

Great premise.
Watch out who you mess with in New Orleans on a dark night! The ups and downs of this family can be funny and hard as life. I’m sure plenty of readers will enjoy the series.
As usual, the explicitly descriptive sex talk and scenes put me right off of this writer. I won’t be continuing.
I loved it! Griffen’s and Ren’s story was adorable and funny. The way they met was comical in a small town in Maine, where Ren was relocating to from California. Ren had an car accident and Griffen was the firefighter that saved her.
I love the small town love books. This one is no different. Many cute moments. You’ll like the characters and the town which is its own character.
If anyone needs me, I’ll be off in search of Port Snow, Maine, and the Knightly brothers!

Griffin Knightly is a volunteer firefighter who believes he’s cursed. Ren Winters is a teacher who just moved to Port Snow and happens to need rescuing after an unfortunate incident with a moose. Throw in 4 other meddling siblings who have the BEST text conversations, a couple of over-involved parents and you have the feel-good book (series) I didn’t know I was looking for!u2063

Griffin and Ren had the best chemistry, even if it was a bit of a slow burn. However, the payoff for waiting was incredible! Griffin is definitely book boyfriend material! He, and all the Knightly brothers, are pretty damn dreamy.u2063

What a sweet small town romance! I love when a book starts out with something that you’re not too sure which way it’ll go. I love the unpredictability, especially with the amount of books that I read.
Ren Winters needs a change from her current environment. She moves from big world LA to small town Port Snow, Maine. She comes in with quite the entrance when she first arrives, giving the gossip mill plenty to feed off of right away.
Griffin Knightly is the whole ultimate package. He has his fingers in just about everything to continue to make the town profitable and looking appealing… from the restoration committee, to his volunteer work as a firefighter, he just makes you fall for him as the story continues.
While Griffin has some obstacles to overcome, Ren is there to help push him out of his comfort zone and quickly finds a place in his life. She’s not pushy, but knows exactly what to do and what not to do.
I loved reading about these two, they’re so sweet and so perfect for each other. They’ve found their home and their own second chances.
Seriously, who doesn’t love a bunch of flawed, crazy, hot brothers who’ve been cursed–literally–by love?? Sounds like a challenge to me, right?
And it certainly is one! The Knightly brothers are dealing with the potential that the curse laid upon them while they were drunk and disorderly in New Orleans is really true. Especially once the town gossip train hears about it! Living in a small town, the Knightly brothers may be the hottest bachelors in town, but no one will go near them.
Until Rren Winters literally crashes into Griffin Knightly’s life. Sorta. Ren’s new in town–she’s the new algebra teacher in Port Snow. And when she meets the local wildlife–a moose to be exact–Griffin is the firefighter who comes to her aid.
Griffin and Ren’s romance starts with a bang–and hopefully doesn’t end in a whimper. Especially once Ren gets wind of the curse. But is Ren just what Griffin needs to break it?
A perfect blend of love, loss, hope, fear, snark, and seriously sassy side characters, That Second Chance is the perfect start to this new, fun Getting Lucky series.
So good! Griffin and his brothers take a trip to New Orleans and end up with a curse! Shortly after returning home his wife dies and he is convinced it is because of the curse and is doomed to never find love again. Ren Winters is driving into her new town and just outside of the city limits encounters a moose in the road and drives into the ditch between two trees. A call to 911 brings the volunteer fire department and Griffin is the one to rescue her and carry her up the embankment. There is instant chemistry and luckily they are neighbors. This story was so good. Small town living with all the gossip and the Knightly family are priceless. Definitely going to binge this series and keep up with new releases!
I love a good small town romance. Add in 4 hot brothers from 1 crazy family and curses and I couldn’t stop reading! Loved Griffin and Ren’s story. Great book!
So… I have to admit, it took me a while to truly get invested in this book and the fact that it is the first in a series (by an author that I typically enjoy) was the main impetus that got me through. It could be because I was not prepared for it to be a slow burn (I don’t know why I had a misconception, but it is what it is); that being said I did enjoy that the Ren and Griff really developed a genuine friendship before getting into a relationship. Because of the nature of the plot and Griff’s romantic history, I kind of knew what to expect from the story, but I still enjoyed the ride. So this was a bit of a middle of the road read for me. It did set up Port Snow as an idyllic setting and the Knightly brothers as interesting leading men, so I look forward to reading the rest of the series! 3 out of 5 wine glasses.
An emotional and funny read that followed Griffin on his devastating journey of loss and a curse that looms over him reminding him he will never be happy or love again. So work is everything, keeping himself busy paramour. Until he rescues a hysterical woman from a car accident and finds himself drawn to this stranger in ways he never thought possible and absolutely does not want. Ren is a survivor, looking to start her life again on her terms. New town. New car. New job. Insane attraction to the hot firefighter who rescued her. She can’t get enough of him! She wants him in a way she has never wanted anyone. But something is holding him back. Can she heal him and will they have a chance at happily ever after? You’ll have to read it to find out! Five hilarious stars for me!
That Second Chance was so cute. Throw in a curse, loss, a cute small town, and a nagging, but close family, and I give one of the cutest romances I’ve read all year. I devoured this book. I love the way Meghan Quinn writes. The pure enjoyment and wonder I get out of her books is what makes me fall in love with everything she writes.
The relationship between Griffin and Ren was so cute. I loved how they met and the way their relationship forms. The constant meddling of Griffin’s brothers was fun. Even with the hesitance Griffin felt about having feelings for Ren because he thinks he’s cursed, I still really loved his struggle and pain. He was really sweet and Ren was perfect for him. Every scene with them together melted my heart. I honestly loved everything about this book.
Griffin lost his wife 2 years ago and closed himself off. Ren is just driving to her new life in Maine when a moose runs her off the road. Griffin rescues Ren and they become friends. She meets a lot of great and funny people in this town. Ten and Griffin become closer can they be more than friends? Great characters and storyline highly recommend.
That second chance was everything!! I loved every moment of this book! Sweet sassy loveable Ren. And masculine sexy and courageous Griffin are a match made in heaven. Nothing worth having ever comes easy though. These two have an incredible journey.
Absolutely brilliant.
Loved this book so much.
Love Griffin and Ren.
Wonderful storyline and wonderful characters.
