Quarterback Danny Diamond loves to score. Touchdowns. Get those dirty thoughts out of your minds, ladies. Just because he has two Championship rings, model good looks, and a well-defined athletic body doesn’t mean he’s a player off the field. Sure, he has women swooning over his messy blond hair, brilliant blue eyes, and cocky smirk, but he’s been married to his college sweetheart since he was … college sweetheart since he was drafted, and they have two beautiful children.
Just when he’s gearing up for what he hopes is the best season of his career, his picture-perfect wife of fifteen years completely blindsides him when she asks for a divorce.
Award-winning actress Jennifer Edwards also lives a seemingly fairy-tale celebrity life with rock star and international DJ, Troy Malone. That is, until he’s caught on video in an Amsterdam brothel, and their love becomes tabloid fodder.
Years ago, Danny and Jennifer met at a party, and their chemistry was off the charts. After a few months of being just friends, he did the right thing—cut off all contact with her to focus on his family.
It was the right decision at the time. But they’ve never forgotten each other. Or the special connection they felt. And, when Danny’s next-door neighbor offers Jennifer a place to hide out from the paparazzi, they meet … again.
Will Jennifer and Danny find true love after getting sacked, or are they destined to watch from the sideline forever?

That Ring (That Boy #5) was another great read by Jillian Dodd. I have really enjoyed reading Danny and Jennifer’s story. They both had an intense attraction 15 years ago but couldn’t act on it because Danny was married. I really enjoyed hearing the characters grow closer even as their exes try and pull them apart. This was a great read and I can’t wait to read more in the series.
The conclusion to That Divorce has Jennifer making some major decisions and Danny and Lori finally settling on their divorce. With some sad moments like saying goodbye to a much love character who has been there for a long time, the kids growing and having some huge moments, and some surprises for each family it was bittersweet moment when this book ended. I have so enjoyed this series and seeing the growth off all the characters but especially Jaydn, Phillip and Danny. Their relationship is truly special which makes these books incredibly unique. I’m really hoping for some future books for the kids.
Overall, I loved reading That Ring. I’m thrilled that Danny and Jennifer were able to come back to each other again and, like all of Jillian’s books, there was a HEA. I did give this book 4 stars though because I wish that there hadn’t been so much focus on the drama with Troy and Lori, respectively. I would have rather had more detail revolving Danny and Jennifer’s story, but understand that it was also how they grew closer. The ending of this book was a bit disappointing to me because I was expecting more about Danny and Jennifer’s HEA considering how much time was spent on Troy and Lori, but overall it was a wonderful read and I hope to see a Diamond/MacKenzie book/series again in the future.
This was probably the perfect way to end not only Danny and Jennifer’s story, but to see the future for our original favorites, Phillip and JJ. I loved the whole story, save for anything that had to do with Lori because I’ve hated her since That Baby, maybe sooner, she just wasn’t right for him. Jennifer however, was his perfect match, his soulmate. Their story packs a lot of drama but also a lot of laughter and swoon worthy moments too. As much as I wish there were more, the ending was pretty perfect.
I loved the conclusion to Danny and Jennifer’s story!! I’ve loved everything about their story; minus Danny being married to Lori when they fort met 15 years ago!
I loved watching Jennifer grow closer to Danny and his kids. I loved watching all the interactions with them!
I loved that Danny was there for Jennifer when she needed someone to hold her hand. I love that she went to Danny knowing he’d be there to help her. That they knew they could rely on each other to help them through the bad times!
I already see a story in my head for Dani and Chase! I really hope they get a story though the story in my head has them blissfully happy and no drama. Lol. But I hope to one day get a story about the kids!!
This is a great conclusion to Danny, Phillip and Jadyn. I love that their friendship has remained so strong and that they are a family!!!
PERFECT!! A Wonderful Ending for Danny and Jennifer! I loved them so hard and this was a very emotion road for them! Dodd really outdid herself! I have so much love in my heart for Danny and have wanted nothing more than for him to be happy in the end! Jennifer has also been through many challenges and I really think fate had her eye on this couple. They say nothing worth it in life is easy, that the Best things come to those who wait and both couldn’t be truer for these characters! We picked up right where the previous book left off and headfirst into Lori’s drama and Troy’s addiction. This book also gave us some heartbreak that I wasn’t prepared for with the Mackenzies. But we also got a sweet surprise! I just cannot feel like I stress enough how much I love these characters. My heart is just so full for them. Each family member really gave their all this book and it was like you could just feel how much they care for one another. A very beautiful thing to read and experience. I also feel like I would have happily strangled Lori due to her antics there at the end. She truly is just miserable, but I was happy she finally put an effort in with her daughter. Once again the ending was spectacular and I look forward to seeing what Dodd has for us next!
I was so excited when Jillian Dodd announced we would get two books about Danny Diamond. I have loved these characters since That Boy. Once this book landed on my kindle it was a one sitting read for me. I had to know how the story for Danny and Jennifer would end.
That Ring was perfect, I love how everything feel into place. After finishing That Divorce and That Ring I want to start from the beginning and read them all again. This is one of my favorite series.
What can I say. That Ring was a great conclusion to the That Boy series but I feel like it was missing something. All the drama and lost relationships were magically repaired and all that. I was a bit annoyed at how many times the series had “Ohmigawd” in it. Danny got his HEA which is all I wanted.
Have you ever read a book where you just really wished that characters were real so you could be their BFF. This is one of those books. Ive always loved Danny and was so pleased to find out he was going to have his turn in the saddle! That Ring is a an amazing story of what true commitment and true love means between to people. A must read!
What a perfect ending for one of my favorite characters! This book was a rollercoaster ride and I absolutely loved getting to see Danny and Jennifer’s story unfold. This is one of my favorite series and I love how you can feel the friendship and love with every word. Definite must read!
Oh Danny Diamond, I was more than ready for you to finally get the happily ever after you deserve! That Ring is the conclusion to Danny Diamond and Jennifer Edwards story and it was a beautiful way to end their journey.
Danny is a sucessful quarterback who is in the middle of a divorce. Jennifer is a hollywood star who just got out of a serious long-term relationship. Jennifer and Danny met years ago and clicked in a way they never had before… but Danny was a newly wed along with a new father, so they let those feelings go and moved on with their lives. Now they have a second chance at love. A second chance to get that fairy tale romance they both deserve.
I loved so much about this, I only wish there wasn’t quite so much Lori and Troy drama, but I was so happy with how it all came together at the end. Not only did I love Danny (you all should know by now he’s one of my favorite book characters ever), but I also love Jennifer and Danny’s kids. And of course the Mackenzie’s. I can’t get enough of this ‘world’ and I would honestly love some books about the Diamond/Mackenzie children. If Jillian writes those books, I will be first in line to read them!
What I love about this series, and all of Jillian’s books really, is the fact that friendship plays such a prominent part. These friends are the family they choose and the bond they have is unbreakable.
That Ring is sweet, sexy, and a lot of fun to read. It was fast-paced and kept a huge smile on my face. It had some angst, but so much romance and the ending left me so happy. This book was so enjoyable and I highly recommend it!
Jillian scores the last touchdown to win the Super Bowl!
Danny and Jennifer are meant to be. This is well worth the wait to see how they grow from the Hollywood Starlet and the Rookie QB.
They compliment but challenge each other. They are the “#relationshipgoals”.
They come together so beautifully despite the struggles and opposition they face.
Their chemistry melts the pages of the book.
A lovely ending to the series! Cannot get any better.
Yes, Just Yes.
The perfect conclusion to That Divorce.
I am pretty sure I have a girl crush on Jayden. I want to be just like her.
The fact that Danny sheds himself of that witch, Lori…. makes me want to do some cartwheels. Everyone deserves to be loved with 100% and it’s nice to see Danny finally experience that.
Still, the kids have me so interested in their story. 🙂
What a conclusion to a fantastic series. I loved Danny Diamond way back in book #1 (That Boy), and I loved Danny Diamond even more here in book #5. He’s grown up, has a family of his own and can still make the girls swoon.
Just all around a perfect ending to this series. I’ve been on this road a long time and I will miss these characters but I can’t wait to see what Jillian does next. She’s definitely my guilty pleasure in reading. Her books are not something I typically pick up anymore but she has me hooked. Her books are always the perfect balance of glamour, love, and just enough drama to keep them interesting. Her research and planning definitely shows in all her stories and that is why she will always be an auto buy.
OMG. What a book. Danny Diamond is way too perfect for words. He’s a family man. But, theirs only so much he can take from his soon to be ex wife. Jennifer is getting out of a long-term toxic relationship. When they met years ago, they never expected to fall in love. Danny did the respectful thing for his family. He walked away. Now, Jennifer better be ready for him! This story is the perfect ending for this group of friends!
That Divorce left us wondering what was going to come of Danny and Jennifer. NOW That Ring has given us the answers we’ve been waiting for since the first time they met. I live Danny and Jennifer together and they have that love that are in fairytales where things just come together at the end.
I kinda wish there wasn’t so much drama with Lori and Troy especially Troy I thought that took a lot away from their story BUT also helped Danny’s and Jennifer’s relationship in trusting area.
I’d love to read some more on the Diamond/Mckenzies kids. I definitely recommend this duo, but the entire That Boy series. <3
Perfect ending for one of my favorite guys ever. I loved all of the ups and downs and the joining of soulmates going on throughout this story. There’s nothing like a family finally coming together to find their ultimate happiness. We also have some characters that challenge us with their innate talent to get under our skin and make our tempers boil. This book was such a page turner and a delight to read and I loved all of the characters I’ve missed from stories past popping up and making me smile. Absolutely Flawless.
This is book 5 in That Boy series read them in order to fully enjoy the series. I laughed, cried and cheered for Danny and Jennifer to finally get there happy ever after. This story of Danny is just so realistic it makes you wish you had your very own Danny. I recommend this series by Jillian Dodd you will not be disappointed with how things work out.
