“Careful what you wish for, love.”WILLAWilla Locke, crappy psychic and crappier bartender, is battling some demons. Literally. She just wants to run away from it all and be normal for once. Why can’t she have the perfect happy life that seems to come so damn easy to everyone else?Thankfully, she knows of one very suave, very self-indulgent djinn who might just be willing to help her if the price … be willing to help her if the price is right.
POE
Poe Blackwell has lived for centuries by two rules: always look out for number one (ahem, himself) and never get thy hands dirty. Well, unless he stood to gain something. And the only thing Poe has ever wanted is power.
So when Willa comes to him looking for a deal, his first thought is: what do I get out of this?
Willa claims to know the name of his soul mate. In the world of djinn, a soul mate is a gateway to incredible power. If he can find this woman and bind himself to her, he would always be the most powerful man in the room.
But as their deal plays out and Poe spends more time with Willa, he starts to feel an insufferable attraction to her. What the bloody hell is going on? Why can’t he stop thinking of her? And why does he suddenly want to protect her from her demons?
When it comes down to it, Poe is faced with a choice: power or love?
Two Deals is the second book in the Blackwell Djinn series, a steamy paranormal romance about four handsome and powerful djinn brothers. Two Deals can be read as a standalone. HEA and no cliffhangers.

2 deals took me on an emotional roller coaster with it’s originality, its well developed back stories of the characters, and the relationships portrayed realistically. This helped me to better understand the behavior and decisions made by Willa, Poe, and Raina. I loved the twist and turns of this steamy Djinn love story and the lessons they learned: Love, Sacrifice, and Release. This is a 5 stars must read book.
“That Psychic Life” is book two in Nikki Kardov’s Blackwell Jinn series. Each book is a stand-alone with a HEA and a different set of main characters, though the books still have recurring characters. It’s recommended that before reading this book you read the Novella “Last Wish” (Red and Cassie) then “Midlife Wish” (Dae and Ashley) first. This way you don’t miss out on all the goodness of the characters and their stories. This book follows Poe Blackwell and Willa Locke.
Willa Locke is a psychic who reads tarot cards, she is just trying to get by day by day, and trying to keep her sister Raina safe. Keeping Raina from Caleb Corvin and out of trouble isn’t going to be easy. But when the demon named Rozen takes over Raina and try’s to kill Willa, her only chance of saving her sister is to ask for a deal from Poe Blackwell the Djinn. But she can’t tell him about the demon or he won’t help, but if she tells him who is Caeli/soul mate is he might be willing to make the deal to help.
Poe misses the power when he isn’t invoked, he wants to find his caeli so he will always have access to his djinn powers. When he is once again denied a reading from Willa, he can’t understand why she doesn’t use her powers. But when she shows up half beaten wanting to make a deal in exchange for the name of his caeli, Poe jumps on the chance, ignoring the warnings his brothers and uncles give him in regards to the note Cassie gave them about Caleb.
I have to admit I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I did book one “Midlife Wish”, I found both Poe and Willa frustrating for different reasons. Poe irritated me cause he seems to power hungry, and wouldn’t listen to reason. He was constantly whining about how he didn’t care what his family thought or did, cause he was under the assumption that they didn’t care about him. Plus the was always thinking about the power he gets from being invoked and how much more powerful he will be once he meets his caeli. Having said that he did redeem himself in my eyes in the last few chapters, after he had the conversation with Thorin. Now Willa, she was loyal to a fault, she literally sacrifices everything for her sister who I may say is a selfish, spoilt brat, she doesn’t deserve Willa. But Willa did have her faults as well, she lied to Poe and the rest of the Blackwell’s then never apologised.
But now onto the things I liked, I loved seeing the rest of the Blackwell’s and what they have been up to. The storyline, action and suspense kept me intrigued and wanting more. I love the concept in this series with the whole Djinn aspect, it’s something new and unique and I can’t wait to devour the rest of the books.
This was a great story. It was well written and fast paced. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling hot. This book has everything you need to keep you turning pages hot sexy men, steamy scenes and some conflict thrown in. I cannot wait for what this author writes next.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Terrific Story & Audible Listen Fascinating Paranormal Romance!
Two Deals
Blackwell Djinn, Book 2
By: Nikki Kardnov
Narrated by: Rupert Hawthorne, Ember Wingfield
This is a terrific paranormal romance, it is well written with interesting storylines that captivated me from start the end. I enjoyed Nikki Karnov’s writing style and the imaginative world and characters she created. I liked the two lead characters, Willa Locke and Poe Blackwell. Willa is strong and independent, she is dedicated to her sister, Raina, trying to save her from herself and her demons. When things got out of control and she needed help there was only one person she could think of to ask. Poe Blackwell, a centuries old Djinn has been looking for his soul mate and when Willa offers to provide him with her name he has no choice but to help her. But helping Willa and getting her sister free will not be easy. Poe always had a thing for Willa but she never gave an inch, but things changed now that he agreed to help her and she him. His powers surface and the chemistry between them grows even more. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is well plotted and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, a bit of angsts, action, twists and turns, some thrilling & suspenseful moments, and some hot romance. Thank you Nikki Kardnov for this fascinating story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Rupert Hawthorne and Ember Wingfield are terrific narrators and voice artists. They bring the characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. They did an amazing job portraying each character and projecting their emotions and passion into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen
